Bad lower back symptoms and conditions

HI, i have had my coil for almost four years. I had it inserted in October 2005, 4 months after my first son was born. it wasn't really painful but felt a bit weird like someone was opening an umbrella inside my uterus. Anyway since then (the past 2 years in particular) i have had crazy moon swings, my breasts are almost always tender, i have a really offensive discharge(which is awful) no libido! my poor husband. i never really had this problem before having the coil. i am quite depressed, cry spontaneously, am irritable and have little patience. when im due on i have really bad lower back pain, stabbing pains in my sides, nausea, bloating, and constipation. but the most recent one is acne! i don't get spots( maybe one when im on but not one every day!) they are mostly on and around my jaw and chin. i feel like a kid again, im 28! my confidence has suffered and i have put on about a stone in the last 6 months. i also get almost constant stomach pains, mostly just under my diaphragm and get heartburn with most foods i eat. i have very light and irregular periods but always get all the pre-period symptoms. the most awful ones are the acne and bad odor. has anyone else experienced bed odor? i also feel tired all the time and just want to sit and do nothing. i don't feel productive at all and have lost my desire to be productive. I am going to see my doctor this week so hopefully she will be able to shed some light on everything. i really want to get it taken out but am scared that i might fall pregnant again. i have one beautiful son but don't really want anymore children. should i put up with all these symptoms? anyway, will let you know how my appointment goes. take care and thanks for making me feel better and not so alone!

Right now I can't sleep, bad cramps, bad lower back pain, cysts, acne mostly around my mouth (which I am usually really clear), headaches, stomach flutters, not to mention mood swings like heck!, more discharge then usual... for starts. I thought it was just something else or me going crazy... after reading all of your comments I am starting to think other wise. I have already been to the ER with horrible stomach pains and cramps, but all the tests came back just fine, just got a 2,000+ bill. I just wanted them to take it out, but they said it wasn't the mirena and it doesn't cause these kinds of things. I have had it almost 9 month... could it be the Mirena causing this?

I am a male 58 yrs old recently had a leg & knee operation, experiencing very bad lower back pain along with cramps on affected leg which is on a cast.

I started taking Lipitor about a year ago.

I have experienced numbness of my hands and feet, severe chest pains, shortness of breath, and fatigued... scary symptoms... everything checked and normal... I'm getting this IUD out!

Just got my Mirena removed today. I had great results for over 2 years and never got another period again. Two months ago I started to have really bad lower back pain and cramps below my c-cection scar. My ob/gyn is wonderful from boston. She removed it and said lets see how you feel in a couple of months. Well as soon as I got off the exam table I no longer had back pain and my cramps are gone !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on the Nuvaring for 6 months in 2006 but had to stop because I lost my insurance coverage. I had no side effects back then, except abnormal clots in my period.

I just started it again a month ago, I'm on my fourth week and have to put the new one on on Monday. I have no other side effects while the ring is in, but since I started my period yesterday I have had bad cramps and very bad lower back pain. I never usually get cramps during my period without birth control. I also have the blood clots again.
Is this a bad side effect that could be effecting the health of my body overall?

Well it is day 4 and all i have to report is some breast tenderness.. but I am a big girl up top so we will see. Also I have been having some bad lower back pain it is really bad after a good night sleep and upon waking in the morning. I have started to do stretching exercises to see it that will help. My appetite has seemed like it has decreased. But I usually have that happen when I get my period I actually don't crave. I have no horrible pinching like i usually have on my left side this time of month and not much bloating but I am drinking tons of water too. Very scared of weight gain...

Hello ladies. I have had the Mirena removed now for about 2 months and i feel a lot better. I am not sure if i posted here or another forum but i have experienced terrible side effects from this thing being in my body. my side effects included

painful joints( i felt like a 80 something year old)
lower back pain
Chest pain ( which i still experience on and off now)
numbness on my fingers and toes ( which i still have to some degree)
sharp abdominal pains
extreme anxiety
tired all the time
spasms in my hands and legs especially my left side
headaches and the list can go on and on.

My doctor did not believe the mirena was causing all of this even though i had been a very healthy person with no medical complaints at all before the mirena was inserted.

Did i read somewhere about a class action lawsuit? Because i will definitely look into it for all the suffering this thing has put me through.

Well like some of you, I've had the really bad lower back pain, cramps and really heavy bleeding while on my period. I have been so tired and have no energy and been really irritable. I know it has to be Yasmin because prior to taking it I felt fine. I'm going to stop taking it tonight and see how I feel the rest of the week. It usually takes awhile to get out of your system right?
