OMG! I cant believe this! And I even thought I was pregnant because of all the symptoms, these past 2 months I have been using the nuvaring and I have felt awful! I had headaches, many vaginal infections, painful sex and burning afterwards, vaginal dryness and all because of this NUVARING! I went to the doctor this morning and we decided that it is best to take it out, so I did and I have felt soooo different! I feel relieved!!!!! And I didn't even imagine that the ring was causing me all this, I thought I was sick!!! I have to see what I am going to do now....

My wife taking Eltroxin 50 mg at every morning with empty stomach since two month back, as her TSH found higher (7.5 unit instead of 0.5 to 5.5). Recently it has been observed that, she is loosing hair too much. I just want to know, whether this increased rate of hare fall is the side effect of Eltroxin or the effect of high TSH? If the reason is first one then how the preventive step is to be taken? And if it is due to later, then why the medicine not doing the work properly? Please suggest the way to proceed.

Hi ive been on yasmin since i was 13 now 18. Was orginally put on in beacuse i have v.bad period pains. Snyway about 7 months ago i started getting really heavy discharge, i was giving meds for thrush etc tested for stds all normal. the gp then told me it must be hormonal or in my mind! I was not statisfied and asked to be refered to a gyneo. She told me it was more than likely an ulcer in my cervix cuased by the hormones in yasmin, I was horrified. I have since been in hospital for an operation to get the ulcer burned off which was quite a painful experience. That was 3 weeks ago and since then i bleed everyday i am sore, and have the worst period I have had in years. To make it worse I have to stay on yasmin and could stay or end up in this situation again. Just think carfully before you go on the pill. Its not as simple and straight forward as you may think.

I am SO glad I ran across this site.I am not crazy! My Mirena was put in about 3 months ago after my gyno finally put it together that my birth control pills were causing menstrual migraines. I will say the Mirena helped with the headaches, but lately I have not felt like myself. I have gained 10 lbs. in 3 months (even though I have been eating well and exercising more to avoid this side effect), my hair is oily, I have little dry itchy patches on my skin, fatigue, joint pain, no interest in having sex (after we do have sex sometimes I get horrible cramps and pain, like when the Mirena was inserted) I am super moody, and have anxiety/depression/anxiety problems, bloated almost constantly, and I feel like I can't focus or concentrate on anything! I called my gyno this morning because I do not want to feel like this anymore, and told her about all my symptoms. The only thing that makes sense to me is that Mirena is causing all my problems, since I never had any of them until I got it put in. The gyno tells me its not Mirena, that it definitely does not cause all that, and to get my thyroid checked because that is my problem. However, after reading all these stories, I am convinced that it is Mirena, and I am definitely getting it out. There is no way so many women can only have Mirena in common and have the same problems, even if they are not listed as side effects on the Mirena brochure.

How long till you feel like yourself again? Do the side effects go away quickly? Does it hurt more or less than getting it put in? Does the weight come off easily?
Hopefully this post helps someone as much as the other posts helped me. Thank you all for taking the time to post.
