My husband started the Fentanyl 50mg last Wednesday. The first patch was OK, then changing it on Saturday, he sleeps - not just a light sleep - heavy sleep, dropping off at any moment. He decided he would rather not be on the patch than feel like he does. Too soon to have any other side affects, but doesn't even remember dropping off. He has recurrent head and neck cancer with severe headaches. He said he would rather take the Advil and take a chance for stomach ulcer than to get worse as time goes on. From the posts that I've read, he made the right decision.

I am a healthy female with little to no history of adverse reactions to medications. I was prescribed a 10 day dose of Levequin (500 mg) for a minor but stubborn skin abscess. After the third day, I woke up with significant joint soreness in my fingers. Progressively the soreness spread daily to my wrists, elbows, ankles, knees, hips, etc. I did not suspect the antibiotic at first, but I know my body, and I know something was WRONG.
After my 8th dose I decided to look online...it is at least good to know that what I'm experiencing is definitely from Levequin. Thank you all for sharing your stories.
I especially found MERCEDESLANE posting on April 15th interesting. I guess this person works in the health care system. Considering this uncompassionate individual, who apparently wants everythone to know he has a Mercedes, can't spell (whine), and does not have basic grammar skills. Wow...my faith in the our health care system is stronger than ever. But what do I know, I'm just an "IDIOT" with shingles that needs to have a couple of glasses of whine while I pop my remaining Levequin.

Oh.... And I forgot an important side effect for males and chief complaint..
My g/f and I *normally* have at least 2 sessions a night, and I have found that Seroquel alone can decrease libido (sex drive). Impotence, or a general lack of sex interest from meds is a real bummer, and after a bit of trial and error I isolated a correlation to Seroquel as being the culprit. Take your nighttime dose after sex. The foggy/lethargic feeling has some bearing on sexual performance/arousal for males. Just my $.02

Dry gagging cough, weight gain, charley horse in calves, but worse of all when I use the bathroom I have a terrible burning sensation in personal area of my body. Am using baby wipes instead of TP. The burning subsides for a while but of course is back when I have to use bathroom again. I think the diuretic in this pill may have some bearing on this symptom. I was checked for a bladder infection and it was negative, although a minute amount of red blood cells were found in my urine. I too, have had the very low BP readings, 90/68, etc. The first time this happened it frightened me so bad I got up and ran around our house and took BP again and it had risen within the normal range. I was on Hyzaar and my present doctor could not understand why I was on such a strong BP med. So he changed my to Lisinoprol HCTZ. Anyone having the same effect?

Hello! I'm 27 and I've been taking Yasmin for probably 7 years and never had a single problem. My weight stayed the same, my periods got VERY regular, to the DAY, and things were ok.
Starting about 3 months ago I was on my honeymoon and decided to skip my period that month which I do a few times a year and Yasmin never let me down! Anyways my period came anyways and not only that, but I spotted an extra week after! It was most noticable in the mornings after having sex. It was just brown and yucky. Then I didn't have a period the next month, only 24 hours of brown and this month I had a regular one. On top of that I've suddenly gained 5 pounds without changing ANYTHING. I wonder, can Yasmin suddenly screw me up so many years after I started taking it? I hear horror stories about Yasmin but I only see it from women taking it for a few months or maybe a year? It was always so good to me. What's going on? The weight gain terrifies me too because I so easily gain weight and I've been trying so hard to eat well and I feel like it's been pointless. It ticks me off more because I have to pay $50 a month for Yasmin even AFTER insurance pays 15, and now I think it's messing my body up too.
I have a OBGYN appointment in a few weeks and I'm going to talk to her about it and see about getting on a new pill anyways for price reasons, but do you think all these weird sudden symptoms are from Yasmin? Can you recommend a pill? I can't afford to gain anymore weight. I just can't...

It's so encouraging to hear everyone else's views about this "device"!! I've had my Mirena since 16th March 2007 (yes, I remember the day like it was yesterday as inserting the thing was the most painful experience I have ever had, although I haven't had children!!).
The literature says you will get cramps and bleeding for up to about 3 weeks (I think) ... yes, try about 6 months.
Then, just when I thought things were settling down, I got sciatica over Christmas for no apparent reason. It was mild to begin with and then after £100 and 3 trips to the chiro, I am now on physiotherapy and have been for a month. I've also starting having cramps for about a month yet, but no sign of a period, so I got to thinking I wonder if this sciatica has got anything to do with the Mirena. I googled and sure enough, people are suffering and also from a whole host of other things I now recognize is happening to me. The blurred vision is interesting as when I went to get the Mirena removed this morning (it has got lost up there!!), the nurse said I've never heard of anyone getting sciatica. Check the internet love, the uterus is very close to the sciatic nerve and bearing in mind mine (the Mirena not the uterus) has gone walkabout, I'm pretty certain this is the root of my problems.
Someone had asked for the Mirena to be removed because it was affecting their contact lenses, so there must be something in the rumour.
Anyway, hopefully the doc can remove mine tonight or I can get a scan quickly and have the damn thing removed. Only 12 weeks until I get married and I refuse to walk down the aisle on crutches!!!!!

I am so glad I found this site. I thought I was going crazy!
I have been an Advair user for about four years now and have gained 45lbs. The weight gain is solidly in my mid section and is bearing down on my lungs, stomach and intestines. I am only 5'3" and I am pretty miserable.
So the dizziness, heartburn, heart palpitations, hoarse throat, coughing, etc that everyone else is experiencing - me too. Thought it was the weight gain. I have dieted, exercised every day - sometimes twice a day, adjusted my eating routine, anything and everything to get my weight down but to no avail.
Each winter I am slighly worse than the last - and after four years, I can't walk more than 2 blocks without use of an inhaler. I thought it was me - the weight gain - and my work schedule. The ability to walk less and less was really starting to scare me. I can't do stairs without stopping halfway to catch a breath. I wasn't like this 4 years ago! I PRACTICALLY RAN UP AND DOWN TWO - THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS each day of work! and could walk a hiking trail for hours without worrying about my breathing.
Swimming is the only exercise that seems to help, takes the heavy feeling away from the mid-section so I can breathe again.
It seems alot of people are experiencing problems. Shouldn't the makers of Advair be told and the doctors informed?

Hey ladies,
When I was prescribed Yasmin a couple of months ago, I found this website and was more than a little hesitant to start taking it. However, bearing in mind that everyone has different reactions to different pills, I started last month despite all of the crazy side-effects I read here.
I have been taking birth control for about 4 years to regulate my period. I started with Zovia when I was 15 and gained about 20 pounds within the first few months.
I then started taking Levora, which literally made me insane. I was crying all the time and had anxiety attacks to the point where I couldn't eat or sleep. I had increased blood pressure, and I was driving everyone around me crazy.
I switched to Trivora, and it was more of the same.
I have been on Yasmin for over a month now and I love it. I have not gained any weight, and the anxiety and depression I was experiencing with Levora and Trivora are completely non-existent. I feel like I have absolutely no side-effects whatsoever.
After reading this website, I took into consideration all of the side-effects many people were experiencing, and I waited a month before starting Yasmin. I took this time to monitor my moods, appetite, emotions, sex drive, weight, etc to know how I felt being off birth control before starting a new one. I feel that, if anyone else is having doubts about whether or not you should start using a new birth control pill, it's important to first understand your body and emotions so that you can pinpoint and monitor your changes if and when they occur.
Good luck everyone,
Marie

I just started this pill after being on a multi level pill due to my ovarian cysts. My period came sooner and lasted a lot longer. The pain was unbearable, but who knows if that has bearing on this pill or my cyst. It was heavier. Thank goodness I haven't gained any weight as of yet, I excersize 4 times a week and have a very restricted diet as it is! But I have noticed something unusual. I have post nasal drip. If I bend over at any time of the day or night, there goes my nose...drip, drip, drip. I've been on the pill for the past 16 years...only since I've been on this one do I experience this.

My Lupron experience has been mixed.
I had 3 Lupron injections--7 months worth of the drug--before my November 2003 myomectomy for a grapefruit-sized fibroid. I consulted 4 doctors (including a family member) before taking the Lupron plunge, and opted not to read too many scare stories online. I'm 32 and I want very much to have children, and everyone told me that my surgery would be most effective if we could use Lupron to cut the blood flow to the fibroid. The good news is that it seems Lupron (and a very good surgeon) did the trick--my surgery was without complications and declared a success. (Now we just have to get me pregnant!)
Now I'm just waiting for the effects of Lupron to go away. I had my last (3 month dose) shot in September 2003, and my most severe symptoms were in the weeks after that shot--especially severe and frequent hot flashes, night sweats, the works. For the entirety of the injection, my libido was utterly shot. For me, these were all annoying, but not unbearable. I figure it's just a taste of what's to come when the real menopause happens in another decade or so.
Post-Lupron recovery:
The hot flashes finally went away about 5.5 months after my last shot, and I've been gradually feeling more and more normal, though my libido is still not back to normal. Most worryingly, and this is why I'm writing today, is what happened to me this last week. Noone ever seems to write about the hormonal hell that your body goes through when it's trying to return to it's pre-menopausal state. I'm 90% sure that my symptoms are in fact attributable to these hormonal fluxes, and not to something worse (like abdominal adhesions from my surgery).
Three evenings ago, I got extremely dizzy and nearly passed out. It took me over 20 minutes to get back to my office, since I was so dizzy (loss of vision, balance, and nauseaI had to sit down three times in the couple dozen yards. I also had a pain in my abdomen. I barely made it the final steps to my office, where it took me at least 45 mintues to get to the point where I could make it to the car to go home. I had strong stomach pain, tingling hands, and gradually decreasing dizzyness. At this time I also noticed that my entire abdomen was very swollen. While the other symptoms have not returned, I have continued to have a very swollen abdomen, which has been very tender to the touch. I have been unable to walk at my usual vigorous pace, and have spent much of the last 3.5 days sitting quietly or lying down. The whole experience has been very frightening--and NOTHING like any PMS I have ever had before. But then again, I've never been menopausal for a year before!
So, I'm writing this post so that others might be aware that the hormonal changes the body goes through while getting OFF Lupron can be even more severe and frightening than the ones you experience going ON the drug.

Doc wants to do Lupron prior to surgery. After reading the feedback here I am very aprehensive. I'm 37 - suffering with endo since 15. Should I just demand a hyst? No child bearing in the past or future. Anyone find success with the treatment without additional headaches? I already get migraines about once a month. More would push me over the edge.

I take hydrochlorothiazide (a diuretic) to keep BP low. My first dose of Welchol (3 tablets at mealtime) produced excruciating pain in my feet after about 2 hours. Lesser pains progressed up my legs in the next few days until they reached my hips. Now 2 weeks after and no more Welchol, I don't have any more pain. I'm very alergic to Welchol. Are there others? Does HCZT have any bearing on this?

I have been on Fosamax for eight weeks. I had joint and muscle pain especially in the neck right from the beginning. I went to the pharmacy and asked about the effects. She told me to just continue to take the medicine.
-- By mbohatyritz | Reply | (3) replies | Private Message meAfter the second refill I also have been having stomach pain that wakes me up from sleep. My neck seems to feeling worse. After reading all the other blogs I am stopping this drug. All of my joints are painful and also there is a lot of clicking!! I hope that it hasn't done too much damage.
