So glad I found this site.
My doctor is trying to convince me to having the Mirena fitted as I'm having very heavy periods every 2 weeks that last approx 8 days. I initially said "no", but was still given information regarding Mirena to take home & read. I was beginning to reconsider but after reading through these postings I will be sticking to my guns & will NOT have it fitted.
Thank you for taking time to share your experiences as it has helped me to make a more informed choice.

I have had the mirena for over a month now and I have had my period ever since then. It's been horrible! I have cramps that come and go. I called my doctor and he told me that it was normal b/c my body was adjusting to it. BS.And that I need to wait 3 months to determine if they will remove it or not. I think I have gained 5 lbs since I got it. Both my mom and sister had it and they loved it. I'm beginning to regret having this thing.

hey guyz. I'm writing this all the way from Greece.
Im 26 and this is the first time i used contraception. Im in a relationship for two years now and i thought it would be a good idea to give it a try. I am a smoker (not heavy one, smoke like 5 to 8 cigarettes a day). My doctor gave me the Nuvaring as he said there are no side effects.
I am by my nature a livey person expressing my feelings and stuff. Im wearing the ring for two days now and i feel already nauteus. In the beginning i thought it was ok but my mood is turning really bad... Im scared with no reason and feel awkward... I don't know if that is all in my mind or because of the Nuvaring but when i found the website and the lawsuits and all the complaints i took the ring of me and never let it back in... I prefer to suffer a little bit more with my boyfriend (which by the way is amazing and waaaay to supportive) and go back to condoms than to risk my mental and body health. At the bottom line whats the gain if you do unprotected sex when ur not mentally healthy???
Anyhow thats all from me. Good luck to you all :)

Had my IUD inserted Feb 11 2009 with no complications. The first 2 months I bleed non stop (had ultrasound to confirm placement and had my hemoglobin level checked). By July I had gained 24lbs and looked 4 months pregnant. My hair was oily, my skin was oily and breaking out, and I was no able to sleep at night. Only pro so far was the lack of my menses - only smearing for a couple of days every month. I had it removed since my husband had his vasectomy and felt great for 3 weeks... then the trouble started. I bloated up, and my GI system shut down. I was so constipated no matter what I tried it was unsuccessful. My back was killing me and I felt like my insides were falling out. My breasts swelled up, were warm, and nipples actually discharged a lot of what looked like milk!!!! (pregnancy tests -'ve). My headaches were monumental - nothing got rid of them! II also felt cold... it didn't matter how hot it was outside of if the humidex made it impossible to breath- I would be wrapped up in a blanket, and sweater and have the chills. had insane waves of nausea and vomiting and this lingering lethargy that would have me sleeping 10 hours a night (never heard my 1yr & 2 1/2yr old at night) and could nap at least 2x/day. My doctor repeated an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound and found nothing wrong. It is now 3 months post removal and I am just beginning to feel like myself. The back pain is still there but faint, unfortunately the weight has not come off and my abdomen is still distended but not as firm as before. I am praying as time goes by the weight disappears. I wish I knew all this before hand.

I believe that the biggest key to success with loestrin 24 is to wait it out! you have to give it at the very least 3 months to get in your system and really regulate and for your body to adjust!! i say this only because i have been on it going on 9 months and i love it! the first 6 weeks were horrible! headaches, spotting, back aches, chest pains, swollen feet, acid reflex, my face broke out, dry skin, i even found more hair in the shower than normal for about the first 3 weeks, but you name it, and its a proven side effect, i had it! i have a fever for about 11 days of between 101-103!!! but my obygn just kept telling me this was the pill for me and i though the had lost his ****** mind!! but i did stick it out! all the side effects started to disappear around the beginning of the 3rd month. and so did all the spotting and my period completely!! wow! im 21 and no mood swings, no average side effects of a periods, nothing.. nadda!! its amazing! this is the only bcp i have been on! and i wouldn't change it for anything! but let me remind you, im not on the pill to prevent me from getting pregnant, i have endometriosis!! this is extremely common in white females!! my obgyn said i developed it between the age of 11-14 ( i started my periods when i was 10! and it went totally undetected for 11years! now, my mom always thought i was just a totally baby! but the pain and the blood clots i would pass when i was that young was so scary. but i never went to a obgyn til i was 20 and i had insurance, lived on my own and could afford to go. so now im so happy on the pill! there were times when i was younger that i would give anything to be punched in the lower back cause the pain was so bad! i couldn't stand, i would be walking and just fall to my knees cause the cramps would just take over. this happened at school a lot, but the day it happened at work i knew i had to do something! so they did a few months of blood test, 6 peps smears in about 2 months.. and a few other test and determined it had to be endometriosis!!! if you ever feel like your insides are tearing appart.. you need to ask your obgyn about testing you for endometriosis!!! *google it!!** anyways, back to the bcp, after the fifth month i was happy again, no pain, no more side effects, no moody-ness or random out breaks of tears!!! its amazing. i dating this one guy! and not having a cycle is sooooo wonderful. he loves that i don't have a cycle!! which means no "time of the month" crap to deal with!!! lol!!! i cant tell you how much i love being on this pill. OHHH i almost forget! you can now get your script with or with out insurance for just 24$ a month!!! no matter what! just to buy the pills like like 80 a month, with full coverage insurance ( which i have ) its still 60 a month. well i found this website and i called, answered a few questions and now i get it for just 24 a month!!! ask your obgyn for the info!!! amazing!!

I have great experience with this pill unlike others. Just like with any pill you can get melasma which is dark spots on your skin. I got few but from my previous pill witch was Yaz (it was terrible; daily headaches, no periods which is normal but kept buying pregnancy tests because of it, terrible breast soreness, vaginal dryness, zero sex drive). With this pill, at the beginning of taking this pill, first few days I felt little nauseous but nothing that bothered me. First month I had some breakthrough bleeding but that was gone after a month. No headaches, slight breast increase which I am not complaining about (it can happen in pills with higher estrogen). No breast soreness, no weight gain, no darkening of the skin so far, sex drive is normal. The only negative, this pill costs $75.

I started this not even at the beginning of the month and right away i am having problems with my body. I didn't look right away to the pill until i found this site and read others stories. But pretty much every day i can't help it; but i cry uncontrollably, and i am also having this brown kinda spotting? i thought it was because i skipped a pill but it does not continue every day because of one pill. Not to mention the nausea i feel. God this pill could really make a girl think she was pregnant with all of these side affects.

Hi I am 28 yrs of age and I've been taking lisinopril (5 mg) for about 2 years now. At the beginning it seemed all well and I was glad that I'd been prescribed with a nice drug. But as the days went by I started to feel the VENOMIC effects of this DRUG. Slowly this venom was killing me from within, at the beginning i thought some other reasons behind and didn't give much attention to the drug, but later the symptoms just worsened and a time came when i could no longer take this medication. I recently consulted a different physician and he has changed me to atenolol+amlodipine. It seems to be working nicely.

I am 26 yrs old and had the Mirena inserted when my son was 2mos old in Feb 08. I still have a very light period, however I have major discharge all the time, tons before my period. My cramps are similar to the beginning throes of labor as my back and hips hurt extremely bad. I have NO SEX DRIVE, I am moody and feel distant to my husband. I am typically a very high strung person, yet now I want to sleep all afternoon when I get home from work. I keep migraines to the point of having to visit a neurologist...have the appt scheduled but haven't been yet. I don't feel depressed, just distant. I have dizzy spells. I want this thing gone.

I had my mirena put in about 3 months ago. About a month later I started noticing hair loss; not to mention lower back pain, acne (mostly on my back, nose), abdominal pain, feeling tired, headaches, & depression. I have been dieting and exercising (extensively) for about 4 months now and have not lost a pound. The hair loss has really gotten out of control so I decided to check with a pharmacist and she suggested that I take Biotin 1000 and Womens One a Day every day. That same night I started googleing "Hair Loss", "Hair Loss Vitamins" and then I thought why not google "Mirena-Hair Loss". I am so happy that I was directed to this website. I was shocked to see how many woman are having the same symptoms I have. What I find most upsetting is that none of these side effects are mentioned on their website nor by the doctor. I already made an appointment to get this "horrible" thing out. Does anyone know if it hurts when it's removed?

I became extremely ill after beginning Topamax. A trip to Urgent Care started me on Z pack for URI and gave me cough medicine. Cough along with incontinence and exhaustion became more severe over 3 weeks. Wheezing worsened but chest xrays done by my PCP showed no pneumonia. I have asthma and allergies which were treated by my PCP with Singulair, Advair and a rescue inhaler with no success. It wasn't until I started thinking about possibility of Topamax playing a part and doing research myself that the puzzle was solved. 3 doctors and a pharmacist knew nothing about the affect this drug has on asthmatics. I was miserable for an entire month due to this drug which could have been completely avoided if doctors were better informed. I had to convince my physicians by taking myself off Topamax in order to alleviate my symptoms. I hate to think where I would be today if I had continued taking the drug and had not found this web page!

I went to the ER almost three days ago for nausea and vomiting and was put on an IV of reglan. I began feeling agitated and the doctor told me that this was normal. I wanted to get out of there but kept my calm and managed to get home afterwards. I'm still suffering from the anxiety and depression and I can't sleep! can anyone tell me if and when these symptoms wear off? is my brain permanently damaged? I'm terrified and worried thinking what I am going to do now if I have to quit my job, how I am going to take care of myself.
thank you for reading and if you have any advice for me

I had a kidney removed at the age of 19. I recently had a UTI and was prescribed sulfameth/trimeth ds for it. With in an hour after taking the first pill my hands turned bright red and were uncontrollably itching and then the rest of my body started to itch, with in about 2 hours it felt like i had been beaten up my entire abdomen hurt (movement like coughing and breathing hurt the most) By the end of the day when it was time for my second dose i was beginning to get really concerned, but i took the second pill thinking i needed to protect the only kidney i have left. The next day i wasn't able to go to work i was in so much pain in the abdominal area. I also feel light headed and short of breath. I DID NOT receive a drug facts paper with the side effects like u would with any other drug ive ever gotten and im starting to wonder why. So I called the doctors office that prescribed it to me to see if it was an allergic reaction or side effect and it took them 2 days to call me in a new prescription! Heres hoping it didn't harm the kidney i have.

Hi,
My 5 year old son has been having similar problems. He was on Singulair on and off since 2006, throughout winter for his asthma and sporadically in the summer. His new pediatrician finally said to keep him on it everyday the beginning of 2009. The only reason I am here today is because I just filled a new prescription of Singulair and low and behold it had a new warning label none of the other bottles had, "Call Dr. if you experience mood changes, sadness, depression or fear." I quickly went online to read some reviews, to my horror I see hundreds of posts from other parents detailing my sons exact aggression/fear issues.
I have been having so many many problems at his school. I had to take him out of first Kindergarten because he hit the teacher a few times. In the new school he was doing ok but then it got worse, then better, then worse, then better again and so on. Maybe it was the breaks of singulair he would get. I had him meet with THREE different therapists for ADHD and they refused to conduct any further evaluations on him because they couldn't find what the problem was. The school even ordered an educational evaluation for him to see if there was a learning disability.
The teacher is always complaining that he's too distracted, doesn't sit still and is so aggressive. He is meeting all his benchmarks and is very bright but his social behavior is causing mayhem. At home his fear of things got out of control. He was scared of his lamp and would wake up screaming at the top of his lungs full of panic and fear because of the stupid lamp. He won't go to the restroom by himself because he's scared a monster would attack him etc. Since I started giving him the medication consistently everyday everything just got worse. He flips out at home, pushes hits and is snotty as all hell.
It makes me sad because I swear he tells me the same thing, "But mom I was trying so hard to be good and I couldn't. I was telling my brain to stop but it wouldn't listen. I don't know what happened." He would come home so sad, frustrated and upset. He had a few bouts of crying in the classroom too, lots of problems with aggression.
I've done the same thing, time outs, reward system, even made up "Jacob days" which were days we did whatever he wanted at home if he had a good week at school. NOTHING works..... I was at a loss until I read these reviews.
I am taking him off tonight and hope this is the end of all the aggression or at least helps a bit. I'm not going to say my son is 100%angel but he used to be much sweeter, calmer understanding and so on. I would just be happy if it helped a little. It's a shame because this medicine was helping with his asthma but at what cost. I will post an update and let you all know how it's going.
Oh I forgot to mention he has been in and out of the school nurses office this past month for stomach aches... he had a lot of stomach problems at home too. So I will see if that clears up too.

Im almost 19, and in summer of 08 I started having terribly sever abdominal pain, mostly in my right side right where you appendix is. I was sent to the ER multiple times because my OB thought I had appendicitis. I went through many MRI's, lots of blood work and ultrasounds and every time they tried to tell me that my appendix was fine and the implied that I was over reacting and the pain wasn't real. The only thing that they found was free fluid in my abdomen which they said was probably from a ovarian cyst. But the thing with that was that my pain should've been better after the cyst ruptured and it had not improved at all. Finally, my OB did another ultrasound and found that I had a blood clot on my right ovary. So my OB told me that she HAD to go in and do a laparoscopy in order to remove the cyst. When I woke up from surgery I was surprised to find out that not only did I have a blood clot, I had endometriosis all over my abdomen especially on my appendix causing so many problems there that she had to remove it. My doctors opinion on how to treat the ENDO was simple, to go on Lupron. She told me that people just RAVED about how good this drug was. Because of the pain I had been in before the surgery, I was very quick to decide to take the lupron. The first shot was the beginning of my problems. I cannot even begin to remember all of the problems I've had. The hot sweats where UNREAL. I mean I would be drenched in sweat. I could barely stand to have clothes on. I mean, every 10 minutes I would suffer from another hot sweat. They were constant. I was extremely nauseous. I would constantly throw up. My appetite was ruined, I became very sore all over my body. The most horrible of all of the side effects was the weight gain. I was around 130 pounds at the beginning of the shots I now weigh over 160 pounds and I BARELY EAT! and what I do eat is healthy, I work out, when I can, and still, no weight loss. I just continue to gain with every shot. I am on shot 4 of 6 right now and have decided to quit. I can't deal with the horrible side effects of this drug.

I got the Mirena put in at the end of 2007. It hurt for a couple of days and then I bled for non stop (no joke) for 7 months straight. A panty liner was all it took, but still, I had had enough of the bleeding. All the while I could always feel it. If I moved funny or if my kids jumped on my stomach I could feel it. Even when I laid on my back I could feel it. Finally I decided I wanted it taken out so in Aug. 2008 I had it removed. No big deal. I thought things would go right back to being normal. Well, ever since August my periods are now very irregular. I will be a couple weeks late or a week early, every month it is different. Honestly, I didn't really consider the Mirena until I started checking online for why I am all the sudden irregular. Then I came across this site of side effects, and my symptoms are very similar to the ones that I have read. I have acne now like I did when I was going through puberty and I thought it was my cleanser, but now I think it has to do with the Mirena. I am also certain that I am irregular because of it. I am trying to get pregnant again and usually I am pregnant within three or four months after stopping birth control, but so far nothing has happened and it has been six months, so I am beginning to wonder if the Mirena has something to do with it.

I am 21 years old and I've been taking Femcon Fe for almost a year now, before femcon I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I switched over because I was having very bad break through bleeding. I wish I would have never started taking Femcon Fe, I have had the worst mood swings I've ever had since taking this pill. On top of having terrible mood swings I also get very nauseated when starting a new pack of pills at the beginning of each month. I am calling my Obgyn tomorrow morning so that I can switch to a different pill. I wasn't sure if femcon was what was causing these symptoms but after finding this site I don't think it would be smart to stay on this pill any longer.

hello- I had Mirena inserted the beginning of December- 10 weeks after the birth of my second child.
I have had natural childbirth- I know what pain is... but I handle it well. I found the procedure to be uncomfortable but bearable- just a slight pinch from the device the doctor described as a grappling hook (nice hu?) grabbing hold to keep my cervix open for insertion- my uterus is tipped slightly back, so he had to go around the corner so to say..
I had cramps fairly bad afterwards, enough to take Motrin, and I don't like taking Ibuprofen because is causes a bad taste in my mouth while on it...(odd but true) I had heavy bleeding lasted about 7 days... but continued to spot, then came what I believe to be a period- as I had horrible cramps and the bleeding got very heavy again - more than any period Ive had before.. more like after having a child bleeding, I hear many women mention a smell- that I have noticed as well.. not horrible- but enough to suspect infection- so I go tot Doctors on the 26th of Dec. I get a nurse pract. because my OB is away for some reason. She looks at me like Im crazy when I tell her how Im experiencing stabbing pains like its poking me, and Im bleeding more than I expected and the severe cramping is unbearable at timesl.. she tells me " wait it out.. it will settle in, take 600 mg of Ibuprofen 4 times a day for 7 days - the cramping should subside. I don't recommend taking it out this soon, it would be a painful procedure and you would need to schedule with your regular ob and he wont be back until next week" she prescribed some Lortab for the pain , and I made an appointment for the next week with my OB. To my bad luck, the weather played a harsh role in not making that appointment ( our area has declared a state of emergency due to the mass snowfall in such a short amount of time) I was literally snowed in for four days. So I missed the appointment, and by then Im not cramping as bad.. I had been taking the ibuprofen as recommended- even though everything I taste and smell is nasty because of it... and Im still spotting- it tapers off to brownish or pinkish like I might be stopping- then whamp- bright red or dark again- and Jan 3rd I started another cycle I believe, another heavy gross period, only I don't have cramps as bad until day 5- then I was back to taking 1/2 a lortab again just so I could function( though not very alert being on hyrocodone ) about 10 days into the most recent cycle the bleeding went back to spotting and color fading, but then yesterday It started dark red again, I think I made the decision to have the Mirena removed when I woke up in severe pain at 4:00 am this morning- I felt like I was being stabbed in the uterus- pain as bad as labor pains, I went to take some Ibuprofen and found myself getting dizzy- my ears began to ring, I got weak and collapsed on the floor in a hot flash/ cold sweat. I drug myself to the kitchen sink when I felt the wave of nausea coming, and vomited.. it was everything I had to stay upright and finish puking, then collapsed on the floor again and waited for the ringing and cold sweat to subside. I crawled into bed once I was able to , and tried to concentrate on the pain flowing out of me ( Im a big believer in the power of thought) I used this technique in labor and it does help, but labor pain is something you KNOW is temporary and will go away, this pain is of unknown origin (save for knowing about the foreign object in my uterus) and you don't know if its going to go away... so needless to say, hard to block out of your mind with the power of thought..
I am not cramping as bad now this afternoon, but regardless I made an appointment for Friday to have this thing removed.
I have also experienced symptoms of depression and overwhelming anger during the time I have had Mirena, like most women- easy to contribute to lack of sleep and getting back to life as normal with a baby.. but the rage for no reason- snapping at the slightest irritant.. being pissed at yourself for being too tired to do housework or go to the grocery store. Having debilitating cramps doesn't help- and a severe back ache- sometimes a xiadic nerve feeling from the pelvis- down into your legs... Im glad Im doing something about it before the side effects have long term repercussions.. like - this is a great birth control because you don't have sex - because you DON'T WANT TO or cant because it HURTS too much or your bleeding all the time! My husband said to me the other night he'd go find action elsewhere If Im not willing or able to keep him happy in bed .. isn't that nice?
Just a note to all you women who's husbands put up with your mood swings and or lack of action in bed, - that your men showed compassion and sensitivity towards your pain - you are lucky, and your men are honorable. We don't all have such caring people in our lives. I wish my husband had an ounce of compassion for what Im going through .. instead all the comment I get is "go get that bitching bleeding device taken out of you!" sigh...
I hope I feel better soon.

I took 3 injections of lupron, in the summer of 2008. I then was switched to an extra strength dose of birth control pills, so that the endo would not come back. I was really sick, really bad headaches, and really bad cramps, after two months of birth control, so I stopped taking them, and have felt great ever since.
I have gained about 20 lbs since the beginning of this process, which is not at all like me. I work out, and watch what I eat. I have recently started a very heavy workout schedule, but have not lost anything. My boobs have gone up a whole cup size, and my stomach is where I have gained the rest.
Any one that has any ideas on what I should do, would be great.

Im 25 and i started taking the Loestrin after my surgery for Endometriosis in Oct. At first, didn't have too many problems, but it seems when I got closer to the bottom of the pack, I got sick and moody. Just though since I was about to start, adn after the surgery could be the after affects. Well, after reading everyones great information, I know now its from the pills. I never took any until all of this (endo). I took lybrel (which don't take that either, i bleed for two weeks) my husband and I live apart right now due to me finishing school, and you would think when I got to see him, I would be all over him... WRONG. now i know why. And lately, ive gained weight, (even though i started working back out) im crazy tired, i mean falling asleep at work and cant control it, and it doesn't seem to help if I get an energy drink. I get plenty of sleep. More then what I would be getting if I was up all night doing homework and was fine then. Just called my doctor and waiting for a call back. I talked to my husband, and since I have never really taken birth control now bec of the endo, we are going to ask if I can get off of it. Just havent had any good luck with birth control. Not worth the craziness. I really havent had the depression side of it, but again like others said, everyone is different, and Ive only been on it for 2 months. Ive tried the ring (horrible, kept falling out) and i have done the patch (which i loved until the news went around saying people were dieing from it, so i got off of it in 06, and haven't been on anything until now) so ill keep yall updated, good luck everyone on finding the right one, i think im going back to the old days, and say screw birth control....

WOW! I have been taking wellbutrin for two years now. The first three weeks were spent with nausea, vivid dreams, some jitters and being very tired. By the end of the first month that had all pretty much gone away and I was feeling more energetic, less anxiety and no depression. When I started exhibiting memory loss at first I really didn't notice it since was just articulation & range of descriptive words. Eventually it progressed to common words and sentence endings. Then I began to notice I could no longer do ANYTHING and listen to someone else at the same time, that progressed to not paying attention to what someone was saying period and the lack of ability to remember the plot of books I had read or some movies I had watched. I also began to notice moderate hair loss. Last but not least I was very slowly gaining weight, it was beginning to add up and I didn't seem to be getting the energy boost or feel that great anymore. So I decided I would quit. After a quick taper off I got to experience all the joys of withdrawal, nausea, sleeping fourteen hours and taking a nap in the afternoon, appetite swings, mood swings, diarrhea , sweetooth and the inability to get up and do anything or go anywhere. It was paralyzing. That went on for almost a month. Its been three months now and the improvement in my cognitive function and physical energy was so profound that it made me wonder if my problems over the past two years could be related to the wellbutrin, so I typed in memory loss and wellbutrin and here we are. I really didn't realize it was affecting me (or others)so seriously and I had zero initiative to investigate my condition until after I quit taking it. Dont get me wrong when I started taking wellbuterin I was at the mercy of my emotions and I needed something, but I feel the corruption of my facualtys was very insidious with this drug and by the time I realized I was having problems I didn't readily recognize it and and had no desire to do any thing about it anyway. My husband had even pointed these symptoms out to me and still I didn't/wasn't able to put it together until now. I don't know what the solution for others will be but I have found mine. I guess what bothers me most is that none of the symptoms caused by this drug was expounded upon by my doctor, the focus was all about how much better I would feel, He never once mentioned memory loss or concentration. And in the last two years he has never once mentioned the idea that I would ever be off antidepressants. For most of us it doesn't have to bee forever. I don't know if I had it all to do again if I would take wellbutrin again or ask for something else, but what I do know is that I would be more aware of what I was taking and not take it for nearly the length of time I did. The drug itself kept me from reacting to its effects and I was unable to gage when I was starting to do better emotionally. The process of getting off it made me wonder if I could do it and if I really was better, believe me I thought about reaching for that bottle every day for a month. Ask yourself where you are mentally, talk to your doctor, MAKE HIM TALK TO YOU, and taper off a lot slower than I did so your able to clearly differentiate between recurring depression and withdrawal. I am no longer in the same frame of mind that I was when I started taking wellbutrin and now that I am completely off of it I feel fine. Good Luck and be careful

I am on my second tube of Trixaicin HP and beginning to feel nausea
after applying it to my back. Could this be a side effect of this medication?

began taking lisinopril in June. To my mindtheBP has not reduced significantly but I have developed a dry cough with accompanying mucus especially at night or when I lie down.On two occasions blood was in the mucus. This only occurred recently(last week). I am due for a doctor visit and certainly will brig this up with him.

I just had Mirena inserted on Oct. 21, only three days ago. The pain wasn't to bad, just very crampy. I had to concentrate on making sure I wasn't holding my breath due to the discomfort. It otherwise went well, quick. Mine was inserted by a nurse practitioner. She wanted me to come in and have it inserted during my time of the month. She said it goes in much more smoothing that way for a couple of reasons, moisture acts as a lubricant, and during our cycles, our cervix dilates slightly. I was at the beginning of my period when I went to have it put it. Just spotting waiting for the gates to break loose. I still am just a little heavier than a spot, my period has yet to come full force, cramping like it wants too though. The past two days, I have had the worst mood swings. Feels very similar to the baby blues. I am hoping this is just my body adjusting to the hormones and it will subside as I had postpartum depression after my daughter was born (4yr). After my son (6mos) I was ok, just baby blues for a couple weeks and I was back to my old self. With my history though, it scares me, I don't want to experience that feeling again. I have been getting very angry over little things the past couple days as well. Almost uncontrollable. I came home and found that our cat had got in our blinds and broke a slat (I guess that is what I can call it) I was so mad, I kicked her and she slid across the kitchen floor. I felt so horrible and guilty after. That is so not like me. I would just ordinarily scold her and forget about it. I am worried that it is going to get worse. Ever since I have had Mirena placed, I have noticed these changes and it seems to be increasing each day. Like I said, I have a 6 mos baby and my husband is deployed. The last thing I would want is a Dr to dismiss my side effects. I already have a stressful life situation right now, if this makes it harder for me and my family, it is going to have to go.

I had Mirena inserted just last week and I was searching for side effects on the internet to see if my bleeding is normal that I am having. I see now that it is, but I do know if I keep bleeding for a while I will have it removed. My friend got Mirena and said oh you will love it, I have two children and do NOT want anymore and my husband is scared to go get snipped so I thought this is a good option. Well, hopefully my bleeding stops soon, its not heavy just kind of like a discharge at the beginning of your period, but if it gets heavy or lasts forever I will reconsider. I feel great otherwise and the bleeding is not really a burden but we will see. Maybe I should have read this site before having it in place, I don't know , hopefully I don't have any real problems with it.
