I can't belive I finally found this information. My biggest issue with Nuva Ring (and there are several issues) is that I cannot sleep through the night. I would wake up in the middle of the night 4-5 times a week and could not fall back to sleep for several hours. I am constantly exhausted, which was never an issue for me. This started about a year ago and I didn't connect it with Nuva Ring (went on it right around the same time) until finally a friend mentioned a possible connection.Went off Nuvaring last month after my period ended and I slept through the night, every night since! I am baffled about how this could happen. I also experienced the mood swinngs too - very angry or crying. It is like having PMS all month long. I did experience pretty bad cramping after I went off.

I received kenalog and novacaine inj. in my scalp for over two years. From surgery for bellspalsy I had and my eyes and face did not go back. My scalp startid itching 2 mnths later. I went to at least 10 different doctors to find out what was wrong. The doctor new all the time it was from the cut nerve endings in my scalp. A neurologist finally told me the bad news. Nothing can be done. Belive me I know your pain. This has been going on for 10 years. Somtimes I wish I would not wake up. My famly is at the end of their ropes and I've pushed all my friends away. I received radiation for breast cancer in 2001 and a month after the radiation treatments I was hospitilized with radiation penumonitis. I was given 120mg prednisone. I had horrible mood swings, kissing ulcers, and lost 15 pounds - the doctor's couldn't belive it. I lost muscle mass in my right leg and had to have physical therapy to be able to walk again. It took 6 months to work my way down to 2.5mg at which time I was hospitalized again with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia aka BOOP in my other lung. I was put back on 60mg prednisone. I have been on various drugs to combat the side effects. I finally got off prednisone in May 2005 but the end of June I got pneumonia and another inflamed lung. I went back on 10mg prednisone which I am trying to get off of now. I have been experiencing depression since going back on my latest dose, but am not currently medicated for it. I have returned to my normal weight and continue to do weight training to combat osteoporosis due to the prednisone as well as strengthen my leg. I worry about the long term effects of long term steroid use.

Hi all,
Can you belive after 9 years of being on BC pill, i finally made connection between it and lack of sex drive, so went to dr about it...you know what i was prescribed instead? .....Yasmin!!!
After reading forums and realising that it is such a COMMON NEGATIVE EFFECT, i am so angry at the misuse of these things. Why arent we warned of this by our drs!!!
Going off them for good as of next week, cant believe the headaches, lethargy, and nausea were also due to Yasmin. So glad i can trust my gynae.
Thanks girls!!! Never would have had chance to repair my life if it werent for this.

To the last post, don't be surprised if your doc does not believe you. My doc advised me to put my daughter back on after a 'stomach virus'(pain I believe was from the singulair). I refused & saw a huge difference in dd after 3days.If you read though these posts(I first posted in May & have been checking back since) most people say the same thing, doc don't belive this stuff is poison for children. God Bless you & good luck with your son.

I am a 25 year old man who was diagnosed with ADD about a year ago. My Doc put me on adderall xr 10 mg one per day. We then upped to 20 mg, and then 30 mg. I must say the drug is wonderful! I only wish I was diagnosed and put on this when I was a kid. I never could concentrate or finish anything in school. I would hear words from people and teachers but they just did not register. I would drift from thought to thought but still hear the words. I truely belive that ADD has been a huge factor in me never finishing school and also loosing a long term relationship. In the relationship I had same thing. I would hear her speak, and want to listen but something literally would not let me!!! So, to her, i just was "Not wanting to listen". We broke up over it! Two years later I told my doctor about my concentration problems. Since being placed on Adderall this has disappeared. I can totally listen and concentrate. My life has totally been improved. I have been promoted twice at my job now since being diagnosed. The only side affects i have experienced so far is for the first 2 days a headache and yes i was restless. Its IS an amphetamine. That dissapeared in two to three days. Also, dry mouth is a problem. To me the benefits totally out weigh the side effects. To the parents of younger children or teens, this drug is widely abused. Please keep it away from them and only administer it to them by recommended dosage. I feel most of the negative comments on this drug are from the EFFECTS OF ABUSE!

My entry is slightly different the the ones I have read so far. Iam writing in behalf of my 10 yr old daughter who has recently been diagnosed with a pretty sever case of hypothyroid. She has been on Levothyroxine for 6 months. At first it was amazing. She went for being anti social and extreamly lazy to finally acting like a 10 yr. old and playing and making friends. She has grown almost 4 inches and lost 26 lbs. Of course she is more to handle but I enjoyed seeing her act like a kid. How ever she did have insomnia, but has over come that. But in the last 3 months she has NO train of thought she has gone from a gradeA student(i know alot of it was because she had no friends or social life, childrenare very crule and all she did in school was work, no socializing) But now her 5th grade teacher does not belive she is the same child. She began the meds in july, so her teacher never knew the old Dani. But of course she looked up her previous records and saw she went from being in the 98th percentile nationwide to failing this years Terra Nova testing. The teacher knows Dani is a wonderful child and this is not rebelling. But at the same time she has not learned anything this year. I spoke to her doctor and she blew it off, because her "T" tests are finally in range and no longer has 400 cholesteral level. Hypothyroidism took every effect on my child, just short of hospitalization. I was told she has to be on this for ever. She says she feels so much better, but she will have to repeat the 5th grade.I have no problem! Healyh comes first but her side effects are getting worse every day! Will she ever be able to live a productful life when she can't remember anything.Even things she learned years ago! I am just a very worried mother that has no answer! 4 hours too do 20 SIMPLE math problems! Please help!

I took Advair about for 2 years. Hoping, that it would help to breath easier. I did not feel significant changes in my breathing. But I started coughing.Bedly. At work my collegues
kept bigger distance from me, they did not want to be infected
from me. They did not know, it was not contagious. I have sinus infection, dry mouth, respiratory problems, since I was
using Advair. Now, on my own, I stopped to take it. I had enough. Taking medicines for the side effect of the medicines. Maybe I never had asthma, only the doctors irresponsible decisions made me belive, I had it. I already suffered from the side effects of prednison. (joint surgery) The doctors used to give to me, in large dose. Now, after several years, I was told, maybe I never had asthma. How can we trust doctors?

i was prescribed the reglan injections when i was expecting my baby bec i had severe vomiting and nausia. I was on it for about 3 months. It did not help! but the dr insisted that i continue taking it. I ended up giving birth to a child with NON genetic disablilities: Severe club foot, extremely weak muscles, dislocated hips and knees. Besides all that he has issues with his brain.. cannot TALK and probably never will. I strongly belive it was from the Reglan!!! DO NOT RECOMEND TO PREGNANT WOMEN!!! I would rather have vomited and had the nausia. the poor child is suffering so much!!! not worth it at all!
