Recently I was prescribed bactrim for a staph infection. On the fourth day I developed a severe rash all over my body. Swelling of my feet and hands. By the time I got to the Dr. my blood pressure had dropped dangerously low and I nearly fainted. The Dr. gave me three shots, cortisone, prednisone and one other I cant remember. By that time my breathing was weak. So the Doctor sent me by ambulance to ER.During the five minute ride my pressure dropped really low again. The EMT started an IV. SInce Primary care Dr. had already taken steps to treat me, ER did very little other than keep watch of vital sighns and let IV finish. ER Dr. concluded it was do to bactrim. He prescribed prednisone and over the counter benadryl and sent me home. After taking prednisone rash seemed to get worse, noticed new rash behind ears and on the top of my head were lumps. Blood pressure has been spuradic at best, but not dangerous. It has been 24 hours now and no changes. My side effects include headache, backache, swelling of feet and hands, rash all over body, itching, raised welps on legs, arms, behind ears and on top of head. The swelling of my feet has went down but my hands are still swollen and sore to the touch. One question. There seems not to be much medicine to help this. I just have to let it run its course how long could the recovery take.

I had my first infusion of remicade with the benadryl on Tuesday since then I have had a very bad headache, stemming from the back of neck all the way over my left side to my eye and also a very painful stiff neck. I am literally inches away from surgery to remove my large intestine and this was my last chance. The good news is that it seems to be working for the UC but I am not sure I want to live with these headaches it is awful.

Been on Geodon for four months. Get sleepy and crash two hours after taking it. Sometime I crash bad and the feeling is awful with tightness in the jaw and neck . Sleep brings relief but It wont let me fall asleep. I had a terrible attack last night and went to the emergency room. They gave me a Benydril and an Ativan to help me sleep. My heart was racing also and the feeling was like a narcotic drug withdrawl symptom.

I have been taking Geodon for 3 weeks now. two capsals of 40mgs every night (80mgs altogether). I am taking it to control hallusinations that is trigered and attatched with me also being BioPolar 1. It used to make me extremly tired, restless, and I would fall dead asleep within 2 hours of taking it. Now I have noticed that it makes me stay awake longer to the point where my body is dead tired but my mind is still runing at 100 miles an hour. Sweating a lot. Last night I spent the night at my friends house and ended up going to the hospital. I thought I was going to choke on my tounge. Literilly I could not put it back in my mouth with the feeling comming back. I was put in minor care unit. I was expirencing masive full body tremours. I was shaking so bad I would make myself nausous. The docotor gave me a shot of some injection and it knocked me out. I am now expirencing chalk mouth, but I am no longer feeling as if I will shallow my tounge. This is a word of advice to any of those who have been expirencing these side effects, the docotor told me to take Benydril and it really works. Try it. I am no longer on Geodon.
