I have been on Lyrica for almost 2 years for nerve damage and fibro. I have gained approx. 60 pounds since starting it and now have arthritis in my back. I finally took myself off because the side effects outweighed the benefits. I ha a hard time concentrating at work, dizziness, severe weight gain, bloating and frequent urination. I also have IC (bladder condition), so the frequent urination was also killing me.

I have had the same serious of same side effects as everyone listed in this site. Tiredness is the BIG one - Mostly to not being able to sleep...Timing is perfect with taking this Drug. i necver had this problem before. I feel great in the morning untill about and hour later after popping the pill and the rest of the day is a struggle. Doc' put me on Provigil (speed) to keep me going. Some days that doesn't even work. it's only been lately i have put two and two together and blame it on the Lisinopril.
Question? Anyone switch Med's and had beter results? If so which one??
Thanks
Rich

I had a migraine for 8 days, nothing would help. Saw my chiropractor, then saw my primary doc. She realized my bp had been climbing steadily over the past 2 years. I am 31, female, slightly over wieght with bp 135-150/90-100. I tried to use CO Q 10 supplements 300 mg once daily. I have to say I felt GREAT but my bp stayed the same and the headache was beter, mild but persistant. I gave in and started taking lisinopril 10mg. Head ache has been better, mild and hit and miss. Ok, that is the only thing I can say for it. I have such a God aweful back ache I just want to cry. My cough is keeping me up at night and is sometimes gagging, my asthma is way,way worse, and the thought of spicy food forget it. Had pizza at my brothers house. I took zantac then tried to eat 20 minutes or so later. I nearly threw up, and not because of usual upset feeling. Reflux was just horrible. It has only been three weeks but my bp is up to 160/100, maybe because I feel so bad and sleep deprived. I will call my doc tomorrow. Thanks to this page I know I am not just falling apart. By the way my mom started this same med 3 months ago. She is fine with it, except for the cough maybe. She is an asthmatic, smoker, with allergies. It is had to say when her cough gets worse, but she has complained that her asthma has really bothered her early this year. HHMMM.....

I started taking Lipitor about 8 weeks ago. I was doing well on a exercise regiman on a treadmill. I had had some pain previous to my feet as I am 370+ lbs and 6'4". However, 2 days after I started the Lipitor I got a cramping in my right calf. My physician had told me to notify him of any cramping right away but I didn't and just rested my leg. another two weeks of nursing my leg went by and it was feeling beter and I pushed of to hard on a curb and my muscle popped almost audibly. I went to my physician and he recommended ice and Alleve and dismissed any association with lipitor. Again another almost three weeks and I was walking across a street and speed up to get out of the way of a car and my calf popped again almost knocking me of my feet. I just got results from my doctor that my cholestoral has improved by 40 or more points but I have stopped taking it. There is just too much risk for something that is supposed to keep me from maybe having a cardiovascular event

My husband has been taking Vioxx for a year. After continued dosage his lips started swelling, hands and feet itching.
Stopped taking it regularly and is doing much beter.

I've been on the drug for 3 days, and I feel terrible. I think it's working to clear up an infection, but the side effects are so bad, I think an alternative antibiotic would be beter- I feel really sick/nauseous inside my body, my entire esophagus feels like it is inflamed (it hurt so much it woke me from my sleep one night), and I'm horribly depressed. There is also a general restless but tired feeling. However, I am not particularly healthy to begin with and I'm sensitive to most drugs (which I told the physician!), so maybe for most people it's okay.
