Because of uncontrollable high blood pressure, my doctor put me on Maxide. I was on them for about 4 days and the doctor ran some more tests and called me at work to come to his office immediately During that time I was feeling so fatigued, I could not lift my arms because I did not have the strength. When I would go up the steps I was so winded and my legs got so weak by the time I got to the top no matter how many steps. I just wanted to curl up and not be bothered. In addition I had stomach pains. When I got to the doctors he told me I looked as bad as my test results. He had already ordered me a bed in the hospital and the nursing staff was waiting for me. By that time I was so tired that I could not hardly walk or even lift my purse (they carried it for me) so the nurses and the doctor took me to my room and the only thing I could do at that point was lie across the bed. They had to undress me and take me to the bathroom. My kidneys had started to fail and my body was shutting down, bit by bit. I could have died if my doctor had not been alerted to my condition by taking a test after a couple of days. I do not remember what the test was but if you are taking Maxzide ( which I consider dangerous) then insist that your doctor tests you for possible serious side effects no later than 3-4 days.

hi everyone, thanks for the response and great advice for my daughter. As you know she is almost 18 and has suffered all the depression/anxiety symptoms. She went to a fantastic psychologist a couple of days ago, he says she has social anxiety, and yes that is exactly what it is, the anxiety kicks in when she has to go to a party, work, away to our holiday house for the weekend etc. He along with the doctor have not dismissed a problem with hormones causing all of this, So now she is learning ways on how to cope with the anxiety, is going to ease herself back to work and we just hope that she will improve bit by bit. Its incredible to think that she is on a high dose of lexapro{40mg} and stil suffering from extreme bouts of anxiety. I think that any woman suffering from these dreadful side effects of yasmin must do all they can to improve their quality of life, whether it be vitamins, massage, councilling or what ever may help in any small way, these things may help your wellbeing and assist you to have a complete recovery. good luck to all

hi andiegags, sorry to hear that you are still suffering with anxiety,i suffered terrible anxiety and panic attacks while taking yasmin (1.5 years) i never linked it to this bcp as i have taken other brands over the years and never had a problem. The anxiety is now learnt behavior and because you expect to feel anxious every morning when you wake up you do,please believe me when i say it will get better if you tell yourself that there is nothing to feel anxious about, this is not you,try to distract yourself when you feel anxious, sing a song or do something to take your mind off how you feel,if you have negative thoughts replace them with positive thoughts,it takes time and practice but just by starting to put these methods in place you are taking charge of your emotions and you will get stronger and more confident each day and you will feel less and less anxious,i was taking diazepam but decided i was going to face my problems and they started to improve little by little and bit by bit...hang in there,it will get better i promise!

Depression is not the word ....if this stuff was biblical, it would be the devil.
i have never felt like life didn't matter, i have never felt like i wanted to give up, but over the last few days i have, and i know it is a direct result of doxycycline. I stopped taking yesterday (had for lyme dis).
sever headaches, nausea, chest pain, panic attacks, etc....
NO WONDER THIS IS A FREE PRESCRIPT....they get you on your second visit after your doc prescribes zoloft or something for you.
