after taking ambien CR for a few months with no real side effects all of a sudden I started doing bizarre things with very little memory of doing them, I walked around the house in the middle of the night in a blackout I cleaned things, ate things, made phone calls to friends and they couldn't understand me because I was slurring my words, My family said I was acting very drunk swaying back and forth and not making any sense. I"ve driven places and don't remember driving and that is enough to make you say o.k. something is wrong with this medication

I have been taking Ambien CR for a few months. At first it worked o.k. but now I am having bad side effects to it. I am walking around the house in a stupor, trying to talk to my family, slurring my words, acting like a drunk, cleaning the house, eating and not remembering any of it until my family tells me about it. They even think I am taking some sort of mind altering drugs because of my bizarre behavior. I don't like talking to someone and not remembering it. I am stopping this medication immediately before I do something to hurt someone while in a blackout!!

My doctor put me on continuous birth control hormones to help alleviate the severe cramps associated with endometriosis. I tried NuvaRing first, but went off because of vaginal/vulvar burning. I switched to Yasmin a few weeks ago. My breasts hurt nonstop for the first packet, but cleared up after that. I noticed I was feeling depressed a lot. My period decided to start before I even finished the active pills in the first pack. My sex drive dropped to zero. I became very irritable, like having constant PMS. I started noticing blurred vision/feeling like a blackout was coming on when I was climbing stairs. I started getting winded just climbing stairs. My energy fell through the floor. I continue to struggle with mild depression. The vaginal burning continues; intercourse is too painful--I suspect it may be linked to the hormones and not the NuvaRing. Honestly, NuvaRing had much fewer side effects for me than Yasmin. I'm not sure what to do next except get off the Yasmin.

I was in the hospital for a bowel re-section. On the third day, they switched me to Levaquin because I spiked a fever. I was released four days later (after 2 doses of I.V. Levaquin per day) and sent home with three days worth of pills. Ever since I've taken the Levaquin, I've had horrible shoulder and back pain and feel somewhat neurotic. The doctor said that it's a side effect from Levaquin. I have one day left of the medication and will continue to take it, but I'm curious if anyone else has had mental side effects. All I've read about is the joint and muscle soreness. Please help! It's affecting my sleep and daily routine. I don't recommend this and will not take it in the future (not to mention the cost of the medication!)
thanks

I was prescribed Prednisone for sinusitis and bronchitis. By day three I noticed I was taking 6 pills versus the 3 prescribed. I called the pharmacist and they recommended I take 1 for each remaining day. I declined, because by then I was experiencing a lot of leg pain. I thought I had a blood clot. Now that it's day 6 I've experienced muscle and bone pain throughout my body. Last night while lying down I felt lightheaded and like I was going to blackout. My legs are weak, I feel like I'm having an outer-body experience, and I'm restless. I've gained a little weight and have a dark red/purple rash on my chest. My stomach is still bloated, but does not hurt. I hope this ends soon. God Bless you All!

I keep getting dizzy, quick blackout and fainting spells since taking this medication. I also get sweats/chills. I also urinate more and am always tired. I am thinking it may be from the medication but my doctor says no and I am not sure I believe him unfortunately. Did anyone else have these spells when taking lisinopril?

Started 10 mg three months ago and cannot tolerate constant cough and runny nose. It lowerd my BP almost too much. Take the drug in the morning and measure BP four times throughout the day. 110/80, 80/60, 75/60. I travel by air once a week. If I'm not careful after a long flight I almost blackout when I stand up. Need to find an alternative.

Very shortly after taking I became so dizzy I could not stand. Stomach upset was so severe I had to take to bed. ordinarily I get little reaction from drugs, less than most, even the beficial ones.
The severity of the dizziness, for I felt close to blackout, was frightening. Six hours later, I am still unable to function normally and have taken to bed.

I started taking Sulfameth for a urinary tract infection the last week in Sept. '06 and at about 10 days my health just crashed in and out of various symptoms. I started feeling like I was near a "blackout" a lot of the time, brain pains around my head, my head and face feel hot internally but not to the touch, my ears got plugged up sensation, my muscles would quiver, teeth chatter like I was really cold, I had some heart burn, nausea, diahrea, and loss of appetite, sleeplessness, I suffered from thoughts of suicide and paranoia during these episodes which seem to last 8 hours. My team of Dr.s have found nothing so far.

While taking daily dosage of 18mg increasing to 20mg after 4 days (regular increase of 2mg) I experienced a sudden blackout lasting approx. 5 minutes. I am 58 years of age and had never passed out before. The reason was bradycardia and a drop in BP, from a norm of around 125/85 to 95/58. BP and pulse rate normalised in four days but dosage not increased since. No benefit yet found in dosage of 20mg. Slight nausea and insomnia also experienced. Wondering if I should continue; following advice of GP but would really prefer a homeoepathic remedy if there were one available!
Sincerely,
Rita Hudd

I started taking Topomax about two months ago for NDPH, a form of daily migraine..I have been on a number of drugs, the latest being lyrica, which resulted in bloating, weight gain and lethargy but finally gave me some relief from headaches..The addition of topomax has helped relieve them further. At first the side effects were brutal! Dizziness, sleepiness, stupidity, slight paranoia ..dis-connect from reality...I almost passed out cold several times and friends said i turned white then yellow...not good...I had this wierd thing happen where I totally forgot what I told a couple of people and vociferously denied having promised to do something for them, only to remember a few days later that I actually HAD promised to do it for them..I called them with abject apologies, blaming the drug..but was not believed. So, I lost a few friends PERMANENTLY due to topomax..I have never had a blackout but it sounds like one, except that I later remembered the event..My eyes have been super dry and irritated. The only lasting physical side effect is a horrible one. I hate to be indelicate, but there is no way to describe this in a pleasant manner...Since the day I started topamax, I have not had a normal bowel movement..I have nothing but what i would call "explosive diarrhea" morning and night..I have to wear those awful shields to bed at night now to keep from soiling the sheets..I am hoping it will go away and don't know if I should see a doctor or what. It atarted when i started the drug so must be related..I hate to stop taking it as it has helped my migraines a lot, and also the bloating..I now take 75mg a day. Any one else experienced thisz?

An 18 year old who occasionally helps us at our farm took guaifen for a week, taking his last pill yesterday. Today he wrecked our pickup by running thru a barbed wire fence, shearing off two oak 12-inch square h-brace posts, smashing a 12-ft metal gate, and damaging 3 pieces of 12-inch gated irrigation pipe. The young man stated, after my husband who was riding with him managed to turn off the truck, that he did not remember any of the events and only "came to" when the truck came to a stop. My husband says that his (the young man's) eyes were open during the entire event, but he did not respond to my husband's shouting at him to stop. Of course we can't say for sure that guaifen caused this "blackout" but it does give cause for alarm. Thank God the young man was not driving alone on a highway!!!

Just hope that you don't end up like me and many other people with no health insurance and the doctor telling you your IUD has to be surgically removed because the strings have disintegrated. And before they refer you to surgery they will try to remove the IUD anyways with a hook while opening your cervix.....and let me add you will be given no anesthesia, your legs and arms will go numb and you will scream because it is the worst pain ever. And then you will finally blackout because you can no longer handle the pain and when you wake up you have to be driven home and put to bed because you cant find your composure for the rest of the evening. And it really sucks having to fork over $3000 to the hospital to have surgery when you have no insurance and cannot be insured due to pre-existing conditions.
-- By sidartha | Reply | Private Message meI have not had the surgery yet, and will keep you all updated..... but does anyone know if we have a case for a lawsuit here?? I'm wondering if we could all get in on filing one. The Mirena has ruined my marriage, ruined my self-worth, ruined my body, given me anxiety to no limit, and now is costing me nothing but time and money with trips back and forth for 2 months now to the doctor and hospital just to try and have it removed.
