Bland diet symptoms and conditions

They gave me this antibiotic for kidney infection , I was medically evacuated to Baghdad ER, infection is clearing but am bloated, thirsty, belching worsen as I had Acid reflux surgery, part of the day I feel better and part very tired, worse am in a war zone and I need to be alert but can`t, medicine was given by the DR. Er, military Dr am sleepy tired, gas ,tightness in chest , fast heart beat ,unable to sleep though tired but took Tylenol and slept 2 night ago I have to walk in the middle of the night out of my chu to release gas and bloating , I still have 2 doses , 7 days of hell, also I have diarrhea some and pain in my lower back , am 44, healthy, I pray it clears out ,I do not like the crap is causing me, as am flying home back to the US to be seen by urologist,digestive disease specialist so my R&R will be with Doctors. worse I spent my birthday in the ER with IV and all kinds of tests hope all u guys feel better. I am 39 years old and have been on Omeprazole for 6 years. I have had the worst year ever. I was always a healthy and fit guy until 2008. I had chronic headaches and extreme fogginess which led to me having an MRI and seeing a chiro(all negative). I had chronic chest pain which led to EKG's, stress tests, ER visits, and tons of blood work ranging from cardiac, glucose, liver, renal, thyroid, etc...(all negative). Did gastroscopy and found esophagitis and gastritis. Upped the dosage of Omeprazole. Then I started getting tremors, muscle cramping, muscle pain, fatigue, blotchy red skin, and continued fogginess and lightheaded.

Did I mention i still have constant heartburn despite all the Omeprazole. I have done everything...tilt up head of bed, bland diet, no coffee or alcohol, no eating late evening etc....

Doctor put me on Fluoxetine (Prozac) for all my stress and anxiety from these crazy symptoms. After seeing this site and reading all your testimonies I am now thinking it is from the Omeprazole!!! Scary thought to stop since my chest pain and heartburn can be pretty severe and constant. What do I do? Feel like I'm caught between a rock and a hard place here.

I too have had all the horrible side effects of this dangerous drug.. Yesterday after much research I started taking Aloe Vera gel capsules available at the health food stores.. I stopped the Omeprazole and I fee like a new woman already!!. Many sites recommend the aloe vera capsules not just one site..They work!! Also am eating a bland diet for awhile..applesauce, serial, apple juice..No Citrus, no chocolate, no tomatoes the list goes on.. Bland bland bland is key.

I vomited twice while taking it in the morning on an empty stomach...when I took it right after eating I had no nausea. The night I took the last dose I woke up with severe heartburn, I have never had heartburn before. It lasted a whole day with out letting up its been about three days and now it comes and goes. I can hardly eat because it burns every time I swallow anything. does anyone have some suggestions as to some relief of the heart burn and how long it lasts...I just want to get back to normal

I was put on Levaquin for a severe infection in my leg. I was given 500 mg. once a day. Immediately after taking my first pill I became nauseous. On the second day I again became nauseous and dizzy. That night I was very restless and could not sleep. I thought I would adjust to the meds so I continued to take it. each day I continued to feel the same after taking my Medication. I started getting cramping after eating on day 5 and suffered Diarrehea with hard cramping. the symptoms continued each day. I revisited my Health Center and was put on 250 Mg. after explaining how I felt. I thought I would adjust as it was clearing the infection in my leg so well. On my second dose of the lesser dosage I experienced some additonal problems. Asfter eating dinner I started having SEVERE stomach pain. I suffered Diarrehea for several hours with the severe apin im my stomach along with nauseousness and had not slept normally since starting this Medication. Later that night I started having Bloody Stool and continued this for the rest of the night and into the next day. Needless to say I stopped the Medication immediately and was put on a bland diet and plenty of liquids. I have been off the Meds for 4 days now and am finally getting back to normal. I started sleeping normally again and the nauseousness and bloody stool have subsided. I was so scared to think a prescription could do this to you. I will never take this drug again and advise anyone that takes it and experiences any of the side effects to get off it immediatley. My experience with this drug has been a nightmare.
