I have been taking Aviane going on my 3rd month, and I really have not experienced any side affects. In my first 2 weeks I did feel the urge to snap at people, but I was able to control it. I had come across this site the night before I started taking Aviane and was pretty horrified, lucky I have not experienced anything awful. Other than my first 2 weeks with having mood swings, since Ive been taking Aviane it has made me loose weight to the point that you can see my sternum, Ive been able to control not loosing anymore by eating higher calorie foods. So if you have the same problem it's easily fixable to not look like a skeleton. I have also noticed that during my last week and a half before my 'period' pill, I have become bloated, that entire almost 2 weeks. Some days it is worse than others, but the bloating really hasn't effected me severely, and I can deal with the bloating for only 3 days of my actual period. Which has slowed down immensely. I was a very heavy bleeder during my past period history, and Aviane has almost subsided my period all together. Which is wonderful. Overall I have no complaints about Aviane unlike a lot of girls who have posted things. I was really scared after I read these posts before I started my b.c. but all you have to do is go for it. You'll know if a birth control is right for you within the first month. Every birth control affects everyone differently. (I took Yasmin before - It made me gain 40 POUNDS in the first month, no joke. It was horrible.)

My boyfriend and I stated taking Yaz together so I wont have to go threw it alone...Now the problem is, his sex drive is low and mine is so high that I'm always using a vibrator to get off..My periods have been regular and his are not.. He's a heavy bleeder as well. can't keep the sheets white enough. I'm not sure if we can continue this with this method. I think I'm taking him off of Yaz asap!!!! I can't deal with his moodiness anymore..He's a horror story!!!

I'm not posting anything new that anyone hasn't said- I just wanted to google my side effects because since taking Loestrin 24 I have all the pregnancy symptoms I had before with my 2 kids. I have been on this pill for about 3 months now, and took FIVE pregnancy tests already because I have NO period at all and I am PARANOID since I was always a heavy bleeder with periods. I went from bleeding for days on end, sometimes up to 10-14 days with headaches and everything. Now I have no period and all these awful side effects. I wake up feeling exhausted, I'm restless at night, having anxiety dreams and even feeling anxious during the day. My husband (and myself) cannot handle anymore of the severe mood swings for no reason. I am peeing all the time like I did when I was pregnant...I'm also nauseous and frequently have upset stomach...like I did when I was prego. the ONLY thing that has been a "relief" is not having periods, but if it means I have to deal with feeling bloated, nauseous, crampy, miserable, and anxious, then it's really not worth taking.
I'll be calling my GYN soon...glad I googled this pill and found all these similar comments because I certainly was not warned of these side effects.

I posted back in early March 2008 and figured I would update my experience with Mirena. I had many symptoms that most posted on here but not all. I figured I would give this option a few months and if the symptoms continued, I would have it removed. After a month, all symptoms have disappeared. Periods are lighter, no pain during intercourse and I can breathe a sigh of relief. No longer do I have to worry about pregnancy ( I always used natural planning going by my body cycle). I did have slight weight gain but started exercising more to offset the extra calories I was taking in with the sudden cravings for food. All and all, I am glad I stuck with it and let my body adjust to Mirena. Good luck to all of you.

I had a Kenalog injection in my left bum check in June 2007 to reduce hayfever symtoms. My menstrual periods are always regular - since the injection they have been VERY irregular, more days on than off. I also had a very heavy bleed which i thought was a miscarriage at the time (if it was a pregnancy then it would have been unplanned). I now think that my irregular periods and the heavy bleed are due to the Kenalog. I also have a mark at the site of the injection which is not fading - i think it will scar. When i went to my GP to complain about my irregular periods the GP dismissed me and said that i had an STD and sent me for a swab!!! I knew he was wrong and i felt very humiliated. My GP did not warn me about this side-effect of Kenalog, even though i asked about them. I have been told that the Kenalog will be in my body for 3 months - i only hope that things return to normal once it has left my system. I will never have it again.

I HAVE BEEN ON OVCON FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF NOW AFTER TRYING OTHER PILLS AND FAILING TO REGULATE MY PERIOD. THIS ONE STARTED TO WORK. MY BLEEDING WAS LESS HEAVY(I WAS A SEVERE BLEEDER) AND MY CRAMPS WERE TONING DOWN ( I SUFFERED FROM SEVERE CRAMPS EVER SINCE I GOT MY FIRST PERIOD) BUT NOW THINGS ARE STARTING TO BE DIFFERENT. I HAVE BEEN TEMPERMENTAL LATELY AND VERY ANGRY. I HEARD THAT WHILE ON BIRTHCONRTOL PILLS, YOU EXPERIENCE SOME SIDE EFFECTS AS IF YOU WERE PREGNANT E.G. THE EATING HABITS AND NAUSEA. BUT I AM HUNGRY ALL OF THE TIME. I GET REALLY SICK IF I DON'T EAT. HALF OF THE TIME I CAN'T EAT WHAT'S IN FRONT OF ME. I FEEL SO NAUSEAED AT TIMES TO WERE I JUST WISH WHAT EVER IT WAS WILL JUST COME OUT. I'M TIRED ALL OF THE TIME. I'M CALLING MY GYN IN THE MORNING BECAUSE IT HAS GOTTEN OUT OF HAND NOW. I JUST HOPE THAT SHE CAN LET ME KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS.

I am a 45 year old woman that suffers horrible bouts of tonsilites. Kenolog 40 mg shots 4 times a year seems to be the only thing that can help me. I am a bleeder therefore can't have the tonsils removed and this shot keeps them from swelling my throat closed. I have never suffered any side effects from this shot and have taken it 3 years now. I would recommend it to anyone, just make sure you tell your Doctor every type of medication you are on before they administer the shot.

Hi I have been on Loestrin for one month and I think I am going to stop them. I am 44. I was on Desogen for 8 years and did well, but as I got older, I noticed that during my period, I felt like I was falling off a cliff. The hormone high down to my probably low hormone self.
-- By lb5 | Reply | Private Message meI had no trouble during my month on loestrin, except, I have had no period. NONE. It is weird. I am a heavy bleeder and nothing. Just a few drops. I also have had a massive headache for the last four days. I am not sure what this pill is all about. I have read all of your comments and so now I know that not getting a period is rather normal for this pill, but I think it is strange. I wouldn't mind a short one for a few days, but none? Not sure what to do or how going off pills completely will effect my hormones?
