My name is Heather I am now 32 years old I took levaquin when i was 29. After i took levaquin I went on a roller coaster ride I have yet to be able to get off of. First when i took it I had the worst night mares i have ever had only to wake up to a splitting headache and a very sore body. took another one the next day same reaction.I figured it was the bronchitis that was causing the problem. on the third day i was worse still I could hardly move. I stopped taking the drug. after another two days i felt better. two weeks later I was out with my father and he noticed a rash on my legs. I was also starting to get little blood blisters. I started to become concerned and the next day after going to the zoo with my family i came home and my legs were swollen three times there normal size and very sore. I put them up just to find the felt like play dough had been stuffed in to them and I had blood blisters the size of pencil erasers. I made an appointment to see the doctor. he said and i Quote " Heather I have No idea what the Hell you have" he sent me to a specialist. between the time of my first appointment and the appointment with the specialist my legs stopped working from the hips down i was 90% paralyzed (not spelled right ) they just wouldn't work right. My ten year old daughter was helping me get to the bathroom. I was soooo sick i had a headache all the time couldn't eat or sleep and when i did it was only for a few hours I couldn't move very well and to get up out of bed hurt so bad i almost fell every morning. by the time i had gotten to the specialist I had gone to the E.R. three times for the pain.and the last time was because my toes stopped moving altogether. at the appointment the doctor ran all kinds of tests checking me for everything from S.T.D.s (which i have been happily married for years) to Lupus. I felt Like and 80 year old Lady And like i said i was only 29. after the extensive tests and everything coming back normal the doctor put me on a steriod. for 4 months i was told i had to take prednisone After the first dose i could move again I still hurt but i could move. But now i had the side effect from that. i was gaining weight like it was going out of style, but at least i could move. after the 4 months things seemed normal kinda. I could move but if i sit still to long my legs go numb not fall sleep go completely numb even if i am standing to long. I am still afraid that i will wake up again feeling like i did that Fall three years ago. I still have problems but im not sure they are tied in but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. I only took three Pills of Levaquin three years ago!!!! How long does this stuff hang on really??????

buddysgirl: What a relief to read all I finished reading. Both my husband have high heredity cholesterol, and presently have high strees increasing those numbers.

I went on line as I began having two things I was concerned with, besides everything I found listed in responses to this site: spontaneous tissue tears, and small pin head size blood blisters. I found both to be part of the "rare" side effects of Lipitor. If either of these bleed, it was difficult to get the bleeding stopped. At times my clothing was enough to break the small "blood blisters", and they were everywhere, except my face.

Thank you so much to everyone who wrote in. I am not sure how the doctor will react. I know my numbers are too high, but I am not interested in being killed by medication to lower them! I have already had one "go around" with my doctor, but I'd rather go when it comes my times that be destroyed.

Been on lisinopril for about a year for high bp. Seems to help. Don't have a cough and don't seem to be feeling weak or sluggish. Do have a burning sensation on the tip of my tongue and a couple of really sore bumps have come and gone on the last few weeks. Also, I am now developing may little red cherry like blood blisters on my body just about everywhere. I've had the dermatologist look at them and he called them some kind of skin cherry and nothing to worry about. I know they are somewhat genetic and my father has a few but I am getting hundreds of them and it has been within the last 6 months. I was told this medicine dialated the artery going into the kidneys to relieve pressure. Wonder if it is dialating capalaries in my skin causing these cherrys? Anybody else got 'em?

I started taking Singulair about 3 months ago for mild exercise induced asthma and allergies. I had headaches real bad in the morning for about a week and then they stopped. About a month or so into it, I had severe abdominal pain, enough to get a catscan which showed nothing, chalked it up to my esophogus reflux I have. I noticed I'm starting to wake up during the night and can't get back to sleep (restlessness) and feeling of heart going too fast. Just last week I have some blood blisters to appear on my toes that the dermotologist said was because of too much exercising. I still have the abdominal pain from time to time, but doesn't last. I wonder if all these are connected?

I was prescribed sulfameth by a dermatologist to help dry out my oily skin as a teenager(15years ago). After a week of taking this medication orally, I noticed I had bruises that i could not remember any injury causing. At the time I had braces on my teeth, and one morning after noticing the bruises on my skin, i woke up and noticed blood blisters on the inside of my mouth and tongue! Sulfameth was the only medication i was taking at the time. I went to my dermatologist to get his opinion, after which he sent me immediately to the hospital. Turns out, I was on the verge of internally bleeding to death. I had to stay in the hospital for a week, where i was treated with a steroid to boost my red blood cell count because it was deathly low. Had i not noticed the bruises, and blood blisters in my mouth from the braces, I might not have known.

I am so glad I found this site. I thought I was going crazy! I've been taking Advair off and on for two years, and prior to that, have taken Flovent and Serevent for three or four years. Every time I report side effects to my allergist, he is surprised and tells me that he doesn't hear about any negative effects from others, implying that I am the only one. I have reported extreme weight gain to him (40 pounds). The weight gain started with Flovent use, but it has ballooned out of control, and that's with diet restrictions and healthy eating over the years. In addition, there are the following symptoms: dental pain (increase in cavities as well), mushy gums and sensitivity; shortness of breath and a heavy, tight feeling in my lungs; severe joint pain and swelling in calves, arms, especially at the knees and arms; stiffness (after a half hour of driving, can hardly get out of the car); extreme incontinence; extreme gas and bloating; abdominal swelling (very pronounced); changes in the skin (many small blood blisters all over plus brown splotches on the face); hair growth on the face; increase in perspiration; dry eyes; itchy scalp and skin (crawling sensation); constant foot pain and athlete's foot ( I never had that before!); depression and extreme fatigue; muddy thinking and memory loss (short and long term); mood swings; cessation of menstrual cycle. I am not one to complain, so I keep quiet about it, but now, it's out of hand. I stopped for awhile, knowing that it had to be the medication, but then my doctor noticed decreased lung function, and urged me to go back on it. I tried Singulair, with combivent, with mixed results, but not as effective in stopping the wheezing as Advair. I would like to try Pullmacort, if it will make a difference. I can't stand all the side effects.
