I've been on it for a week and a half. Today I decided to look into whether it could be the cause of my recent (and uncharacteristic) bitchiness and over-emotionalness. Sounds like it. I've also experienced some mild brown discharge.. I think it could be blood spotting, which I've read is common for someone new to birth control. So far, if this is what's making me impossible to be around, it's definitely not worth it. Back to condoms for me...

Hello, everyone. I am new to Yasmin and have only been taking it for 2 weeks. I am coming off of a 4 year break from BCP's and decided to try Yasmin on my OB's recommendation due to excessive moodiness/irritability with other BCP's that I've tried. In the past, I didn't have any other side effects from any of the other pills that I've tried (such as spotting, break through bleeding, bloating, etc.) In the 2 short weeks that I've been taking Yasmin I have had enough weird side effects to prompt me to go online and do some research, which led me to this site. I have had (sorry for the TMI) brown discharge for 12 straight days and today I have blood spotting. I also noticed that I have been extremely fatigued for the last week. Tonight I feel a dull pain in my left side and am bloated and feel "full", as if I've eaten a huge amount of food. I'm not even going to finish this pack. Thank you to everyone for your experiences.

I am 2 weeks and 3 days into taking this pill for the first month and I don't know if I should stay on it. I just started to get brownish blood/spotting and cramps in my back. I am afraid I might be pregnant although my boyfriend always pulls out on time. There is a chance that some precum got inside me, but I haven't been too worried since I don't think it's very likely to get pregnant from precum while on the pill. Should I be worried or are these symptoms normal? I also have had more frequent mood swings and anxiety, but I suffer from both anyway. From all the bad things I have heard, I am eager to switch back to Ortho-Tri Cyclen. Is there a big difference between the pills and the amount of protection they offer from getting pregnant? If any information can be given, I would really appreciate it.
