From Indiana,
I was put on the Dexpak for Rhuematoid Arthritis flare up. I started it on the 10 th of Sept. 2008 on a Wed. By Sat my pain level was better but the side effects were in full charge. I had shortness of breath to the extent that my voice being high pitched. Sun. I awoke to my vision being very distorted and the shortness of breath. I made it through the day and on Mon everything was really bad. I ended up in the ER. Hardly able to breathe and distorted vision. I was treated as if I were having a heart attack. Then when all the blood test started coming back I was asked how long had I been a Diabete.I'M NOT!!!
My blood sugar level was 416. I was given two insulin shots and watched closely and when the level got down to 295 I was sent home.
I missed a week of work and still battling a blood sugar level that is high.
I was taken off the DEXPAK. But put on medicine for diabetes and just praying everything returns to normal.
After 1 week my vision is better, but not where it was before. Blood sugar levels still elevated and may have to go insulin.
I would highly recommend not taking this drug, and in my opinion it needs to off the market.

Numerous side effects including but not limited to: spontaneous tendon rupture (right distal bicep), CNS agitation accompanied by anxiety and panic, extreme fatigue, digestive problems, on-going fluctuations of blood sugar level, rapid changes in body temperature, nausea, etc.
Some here insist on reporting the "good" this stuff has done (other than lining some peoples pockets with profits). I disagree. As I post this I see 2250 adverse effects have been posted previously. I urge yo all to look deeper ask the question: "Why so many problems with this class of drug?" The 2250 number is only for Levaquin..... don't forget to add in all the responses for all of the other drugs in the quinolone family. And while you are at it, find out how many other drugs have death as a side effect and how many have been reported. This is a defective drug.

pancreatitis,, After being prescribed Byetta for Type II Diabetes by a PA, I used the 5 dose size of Byetta for 30 days, then I went on 10 dose of Byetta twice a day. on a Saturday morning I had discomfort under my left breast after my AM injection, then after PM injection I began to experience severe pains under my left breast, they got progressively worse as the minutes went by, terrible pain, ended up in the emergency room, blood tests showed increased pancreatic enzymes, I was given a prescription and told to visit my GP on Monday. My GP knew what had caused it as soon as I told him I had been taking Byetta, he had other patients who had the same thing to happen. I called the mfg, they were aware of the problem, the FDA has put out a warning after I began taking the Byetta. There were no warnings about pancreatitis in the medicines I had received. Since this instance in December, I have talked with two others who had similar experiences with Byetta. I now am left with chronic pancreatic pain and am on meds for that. From what I have read have a 4% chance of developing pancreatitis cancer as a result of the attack. When you read the little infor out there about this, it appears to be pushed off as long time alcoholics who drink excessively are the ones who have had this problem with Byetta. I would estimate it has been at least 4 years since I have had a cocktail and have never been an alcoholic... BEWARE!!!

Generic Glyburide used in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus and to control the blood sugar level. Generic Glyburide also causes serious side effects like hypoglycemia, hunger, nervousness and breathing difficulties. There are drugs that interact with generic Glyburide and increase side effects. I was prescribed sulfameth for an infection from a possible bug bite. After three days of taking this drug, I've had a severe headache, nausea, diarrhea, chills, fever, excessive perspiration, tightness and pain in my chest, dizziness, tingling around my lips, low back pain, weird nightmares and fitful sleep. Also, my blood sugar level is significantly elevated and I have constant stiffness and soreness in my neck. I'm just now coming to this website after experiencing these side effects for a total of five of the eight days I've been on the sulfameth.

Levaquin was prescribed for me about 3 weeks ago now. During the time I was taking it my joints began to ache, my feet became so sore I could hardly walk. My blood sugar level went as low as 28 to 38 several times and I could hardly stay awake. I pulled out the prescription side affects list and noticed that Levaquin can affect your blood sugar levals. Well, now I'm diagnosed as pre-diabetic. During this time, my left shoulder became very sore and I had knots in my upper left arm. I have been going to the Chiropractor for this, but am beginning to think it was caused by the Levaquin as well. I intend to request an x-ray of my left shoulder, particularly the rotator cup.
My doctor even made the statement that she would never give me Levaquin again. I know she won't because I won't take it. I'm just hoping that this time hasn't done too much damage already. I am also having trouble with my right knee.

i recently had my second mirena coil fitted. the first was fitted as i had severe pms and very heavy prolonged periods. the coil worked for this - i have not had a period for over four and a half years. the gynae doctor thought it a good idea to replace it as i could possibly start to menstruate again if i didn't have it, he also thought it possible the pms would return.
-- By crystalmj | Reply | Private Message mei am 53 and the coil was "overdue" for replacement by about 3 months. i have had ibs for years but have had a lot more problems over recent years, my doctor puts it down to stress (he has done other tests this year - all fine, apart from a slightly high blood sugar level he was not over concerned about).
the few months leading up to the coil change were almost ibs free. could this be because the hormone had "run out" ??
since having the second mirena fitted 3 weeks ago i have felt awful. i am bloated to the point where i look pregnant, i am having to take fybogel again every day as i was so constipated, and although the fybogel is working for that, the bloating continues and i feel really nauseous on and off all day, and constantly full and have little appetite.
i am wondering if the coil is responsible as my gp can see no other cause apart from stress. could it be that my body no longer "wants" this hormone? is it worse this time because of my age?
it was also extremely painful having the second coil fitted - it was def not that bad the first time.
i never ever put the ibs down to the coil before, but some kind of instinct made me look my symptoms up on the net today and i was shocked to think that i may be feeling so rough now (and had increased ibs over the past few years) because of the mirena.
i am seriously considering visiting the clinic on Tuesday to ask to have it removed.
does anyone have any advice?
