I started taking thyroxine about 6 weeks ago - i went to the doc with tingling fingers, bloods showed tsh 34 so doc gave me 50mg thyroxine. Felt awful within a few days i was getting palpitations and felt like my skin was crawling. I couldn't bear even the slightest noise. I had diarrhea (cant spell) fast heart rate, the shakes and couldn't handle lots of people in a room. I am a teacher so it became difficult for me to work. I went up to 100 it got worse, until in the end I decided to stop them.
I am going to wait and see but I would rather be hypo than have these symptoms, my doc said you will feel great soon, pah what a load of c%%%

I started Eltroxin/Levothyroxin a month ago. I was warned about side effects to my eyes which started watering and stinging then my nose started to drip. Suddenly I crashed into depression and am having trouble stabilizing this so everyday I feel unwell. I am also having hot flushing at 68years of age! I haven't the energy to do much.
Have found that the brand Goldshield made in Britian has few side effects so will be paying for these rather than be miserable all the time

First off, I am an RN. I was working the night shift and about midnight was struck with a migraine that any light or sound and I thought my head would explode. I personally never had a "migraine" just headaches that 2 Tylenol took care of. Within 15 minutes of this migraine attack I was running for the bathroom and vomited non stop till I felt my stomach was inside out. I left work early. When I got home I took 1 Percocet prescribed for muscle spasm pain following an auto accident. It did not touch the pain. I could not sleep and felt restless. It took a lot of encouragement, but finally let my family take me to the local ER (not my hospital). Upon arrival they inserted an IV which immediately infiltrated and my hand blew up like a balloon. I knew I was off to a bad start and trouble ahead. Another IV line was inserted on my wrist by my thumb. I was told I was dehydrated and needed fluids; meanwhile no bloods were drawn to even know whether I was dehydrated or not, or to even check for some toxin or something; maybe the meatballs in tomato sauce I had for dinner were tainted with salmonella?..Next in comes the nurse and gives me Reglan into the IV for what? She says it will help my nausea.....I did not have any and told her so....she can't to inject it and within 5 minutes I am jumping off the gurney and freaking out with my whole body in some sort of muscle spasm. I am agitated and yelling for someone to help me. My skin on my entire body felt like it was being burned by branding irons. The nurse comes in and gives me IV Valium 10mg twice......I am now more agitated and ready to rip out the IV which is burning my wrist and I am losing control. Meanwhile my migraine/headache is more intense and I felt like my head would explode. Another doctor came in and then ordered 2 750mg Robaxin's and 2 Percocets by mouth. 1/2 hr of jumping around like a jumping bean I finally was able to calm down. I was then D/Cd from the ER without any diagnosis and told to take 2 Robaxin 750 mg 4 times a day with 2 Percocets 4 times a day...As a nurse who just went thru 1 year of Robaxin and Skelaxin treatment following the car accident I was no way going back on those drugs that caused me to be depressed and useless.I saw my own MD the next day and my neurologist and they told me to take what I was prior to this experience. Well, the whole body spasms sneek up on me esp at night and now I am taking Robaxin only when it happens.Needless to say, ER's and all doctors really have no idea what is wrong with anyone unless they have a bleeding open wound that needs sutures. Sad to say this being a health care professional. I have been to 15 doctors in 1 year who have yet to treat me with a cure. Now the migraine thing....was a waste of time in an ER. I have phlebitis on my wrist and can't use my thumb and its been 3 days since the IV was there.

Everybody here knows that I have been interested in trying to find out if Singulair (montelukast), which is a quinoline, ionizes and forms quinolinic acid under physiological conditions that lower blood pH. Some researchers have also mentioned that another montelukast metabolite that occurs is known to be a toxin. In other words, until someone can get blood tests that confirm what the toxic metabolic is, we are just guessing but I would bet that it is a good guess.
One of the strongest cases for that argument would be what happens to some people during sleep. There are some people whose CO2 levels rise. If the levels rise enough to cause change in pH to a more acid condition, then montelukast can possibly ionizes just enough to create minute amounts of neurotoxins that could cause bad dreams, hallucinations, sleep deprivation or a number of other neuro-psychiatric problems. Compound the effect of night after night of minute amounts of neurotoxins caused by CO2 and montelukast ionization then it would be easy to understand how depression and personality change results. There are other conditions that cause elevated CO2 levels and acidosis such as COPD.
If anyone has any data regarding their CO2 levels from sleep studies or other bloods tests, would you please send me a private message?

Severe depression, personality change, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks. Acne on face and body, hair growth on face, red, blotchy skin, bloated face. Hair loss on head. Constant hunger, sugar and caffeine cravings. Constant feeling of cold, even in warm environment. Frequent urination, dry eyes and mouth. Greasy hair and skin. Muscle and joint pains. Raised blood pressure. All these symptoms began when I started taking Yasmin and have cleared up since I stopped taking it. Never again!

Dear Silke and all here,
toda i had my 12mth post yasmin bloods done and the results showed that i am low in iron....suprise...and my liver is not functioning at its proper rate a side effect no doubt caused through this wonderful drug. This she feels may be why i am carrying the weight besides eating and exercise well.
Just to update the new people to the site i struggled like you all anxiety , high blood pressure massive panic attacks to the point that i gave up a great job as i thoguht i was going mad, had the floaters in the eyes and now all these symptons have slowly faded but like you all in the beginning i felt like i was destined to feel so bad like i did. It got better around the 3-5mth mark and now apart from the weight gain and puffiness i am doing 90% ok. i work again can look after my three kids great and life is returning to how it was. I take every day religiosly flaxseed oil capsules, magnesium supplements and now after seeing a naturopath i am about to take whatever he prescibes for the liver natural of course. Just remember its going to get better i thought i was going to die, i felt useless could not ever go for a walk i quit my job and now things are ok, so take note and remember its hard every day but everyday is a day closer to yasmin recovery. Drink lots of water and i listened to charles linden relation tapes for my anxiety and i too think this helped train my mnd again to laugh at these attacks as a mindless game. Charles Linden wrote noone has ever died from an anxiety attack so remember whats the worst it can do, dont feed these attacks laugh at them and remember its the yasmin doing it and once your mind believes that the cycle begins to break
take care and you can always post me as i still check in each day

Just a quick update about my husbands law suit with doctor who gave him 6 shots of kenalog for gout in his feet, legs, and knees. Russell ended up rushed into hospital with steriod induced diabetes and was told he would be inusulin dependant for the rest of his life, although his records went missing from hospital shortly after he was admitted. the doctor acting for the solictor came to examine him and has told us he has found letters from the hospital to our doctors and the interesting fact that I think everyone should know, he told us that the manufactors of kenalog suggest a maxium dose of 80 ml he told us Russell was injected with 320ml. We were also told that even though what he went through was very frighting because he did not die, we haven't got a positive case for sueing the doctor. ( but we still are continuing with the law suit)
Russell is not using insulin anymore as the steriods have came out of his body and his pancreas started again, although he is now classed as diabetic type 2 ( diet controlled)

Hi
I posted on this site in Jan 05, after my husband was rushed into hospital 3 days after multiple kenalog shots for his joints ( gout) He was told he was diabetic type 1 and would be using inuslin for the rest of his life. His body had started closing down his organs. He was on drip for 6 days, lost a stone in weight in 3 days prior to getting into hospital. I kept saying it was the injections, Cut a long story short he stopped using insulin injections within a month and his bloods have came to nearly normal. He is still treat as diabetic ( type 2) no medication, diet controlled. You cannot go from Type 1 to Type 2. We are in the process of going to court with the doctor who gave him the shots, we were not warned of any of this side effect. We have been told it will take a long time to sort out, but what really worrys me, if Kenalog came make the pancreas stop making insulin, and thank -god his started working again. What in the future if it is badly damaged and stops altogether? Can I thank the person who put the information on the site about dosage and side effects. Would you believe the hospital has lost my husbands records. I hope if this happens to any-one else this piece of informtation may help. Not only did Kenalog change my husbands life but 4 months later I had a heart attack and they have put it down to stress ( I am 44 and my husband is 45)We both had no serious illnesses ever but now!!!!! WHO KNOWS

Lisa Here,
just an update went to docs yesterday and my old family doctor has moved to this clinic and i was so relieved to be able to tell him all about this poison. He is going to monitor me for a while with the blood pressure issues and cholestrol, pulse was fast (really) and pressure was up but not as high on lower reading as xmas so guess thats reassuring. He has taken bloods and checking all my level so will get them friday so be sure i will let u all know the results.
He was so shocked by side effects but told me the governments has not put it on its pbs scheme so obviously they are not too sure about it (great huh).
He hopes the pulse rates and blood pressure will drop but said was not sure if this had done permanent damage but from what i can gather most women return to normal levels after a while (am i right). Just finished my period and have no appetite whatsoever and its been 7 days now and am struggling to eat , i noticed Chrissy said something about this , did this settle post yasmin remember only 2mths off for me.
ok any advice will help
Hugs
Lisa

Hi,
I'm fit, tough and extremely healthy. Tried Mirena. Ok for one year then within six months I experienced increasing upper abdominal pain and ultimately the sensation of something bursting central chest and the first of three Emergency Hospital admissions. Bloods clear. Xrays clear. ECG's clear. Endoscope clear (had experienced severe and sudden onset gastroenteritus/IBS acid reflux, extreme food intolerance.) Also had a large cyst needed draining (and multiple smaller) appeared in left breast. Lymph glands in neck up. High histamine, raised albumin, white blood cells relating to allergy/parasite. Allergic reaction/systemic rejection of coil?
No uterus pain at all.(Not had period for over a year)
So very ill after sixteen weeks being consistently told it wouldn't be the coil I took it out. Hard to describe but an extreme sense of relief, reduction in pain from entire GI tract swelling/sensitivity.
QUESTION.
One week on huge improvement but I still have continual upper body/chest pain (diaphragm?), and additional pain sharp pain through left ribs to shoulder blade, worse with sudden movement. Anyone had residual/slow to improve nerve damage? Need to be fit for my job.
Thank you for reading.
PS. Its not a 'coil'. Its a nasty sharp edged piece of plastic.
