I have had my mirena for about 9 months now. I thought it was great at first. I moved away from my family to be with my fiance and ever since then I have had such bad anxiety, depression, mood swings like crazy, very low sex drive and bad acne like I never had before. My skin was always very clear. I always have had depression and anxiety but never this bad. I just feel like I hate the world! I thought that it was just that I was homesick and taking it out on my fiance until I had stumbled across this sight. The only thing is that I am not having pains anywhere or excessive weight gain although I am bloated and I look like I am 5 months pregnant. Now what I would like to know is if this is really all caused by the mirena or if it is all in my head? I have a 17 year old and an 11 year old and now I am living with his 3 kids and the last thing I want is to have this removed and find out that it was not the mirena that was giving me all these symptoms. Can someone please help me with some answered questions? Thank you so much!!

I just started Travatan Z last night. Today, I have bloodshot eyes and a slight headache, both of which I could live with, at least for awhile. My doctor told me about the red eyes and said that they would probably go away after a few weeks of use. But I find that I am also really edgy and nervous today and, looking at the printed info from the drugstore, see that nervousness is a possible side effect.

I am a 33-year-old female. I was taking YAZ birth control. I woke up on a Friday morning with a bad cramping feeling in my left calf. By the end of the day, I was limping. By the middle of that night into Saturday morning, I woke up in such excruciating pain. I could not walk without help. I went to the ER. They ran an ultrasound and found nothing. They said I had a "pulled muscle" and sent me home. Went to my PCP on Monday. He said it was "phlebitis" and sent me home. He told me to return in 3 days. Did that. This whole time I told them my left foot was cold, the leg was discolored, and that I could not walk! Hello! I went back in 3 days, but this time he was finally alarmed when he couldn't find a pulse in my left foot (never checked that in the first place) and sent me back to the ER. The same jerk ran another ultrasound, and there was the clot. I've been on warfarin since February. In the beginning, I had TERRIBLE HEADACHES (which have since subsided). Now I am dealing with this: CONSTANT BODY PAINS (especially my back and ribs), OVERALL BODY SORENESS (kind of like when you have the flu), FATIGUE, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, BLOATING AND GAS (I wake up with a huge painful puffy stomach every morning), CRAMPS (like having a period without one), sometimes DIARRHEA, STOMACH ACHES. When I reported the initial body pains to both the specialist and my PCP upon my follow-up visits after being discharged, both looked at me like I was crazy or making it up or something. I came home in tears after seeing the specialist. I thought he would be the one to know about this stuff! Instead, he made me feel like an idiot or crazy person. I was totally insulted and cried on the way home. I am so annoyed and have lost all faith in doctors. They should all have to retake their Anatomy and Physiology courses so they can be reminded what their ears are for. Why don't they listen to their patients? This is insane! I am so disgusted with this whole mess. I just want to give up.

I took Bactrim for 5 days for a UTI earlier this month and it went great, I felt fine and was very happy with it. Then, last week, for an unrelated preventive matter a doctor wanted me to take levaquin for a week before a minor elective surgery and I asked if I couldn't take Bactrim instead because it cost so much less. Well, did I ever get sick after the first pill. Chills, fever, headache, bloodshot eyes, rib pain and aches and pains all over, so weak I could barely make it to the bathroom, I thought I was going to die. I didn't connect it with the bactrim because I had tolerated it so well just a couple of weeks earlier. So, 3 days later when I felt somewhat better, I took another bactrim and the symptoms came back though not quite as bad. Be careful with this, just because you don't get side effects the first time you take it doesn't mean you might not get them in the future.

took one dose of avelox at 830pm yesterday and then took one dose of hydrocodone for cough at 1100pm. Woke up 2 hours later with ankle & wrist joint pain, swollen flushed face and upper extremeities, completely bloodshot eyes(no visible whites), fever, chills, neck stiffness, itching on neck, shoulders and arms, general body aches, overall joint stiffness. saw doc today and he said conjunctivitis-prescribed drops, and that it was just the infection I had running it's course. Now my husband does not want me to take this evenings dose. perplexed as I have some underlying connective tissue disease and I am not sure if the joint stuff and redness is just due to being out in the sun yesterday without sunscreen and the aftermath

I have been taking Yasmin for 5 days so far. I take it before bedtime. The first day I had a horrible headache and nausea and I had no energy. The second day was just nausea. The third day, just lack of energy. By the 4th day I was feeling fine. I hope that's the end of the side effects.

I have been having symptoms of early pregnancy, while on the mirena. I have been very concerned specially this last three days. My breast are very sore and i feel a tingling sensation that ends in sharp needle like pains. I also feel tired and sleepy all the time and i can nap for two hours right after work (4PM) and then be back in bed at 10:00. I have also had headaches and eye irritation and dryness, which i thought i was getting from allergies. I also shed hair like crazy. It's isane how much hair I collect after every bath and every time I comb my hair. I am always moody and I also feel anxiety all the time. I have night sweats and a feeling of detachment. I didn't think all this symptoms could be associated to the mirena until I found this website.
