My periods before I started this pill about 5 months ago were very regular. Even though they lasted 4 or 5 days, they came at the same time every month. Now I get it for two weeks straight even though I'm taking my pill at the same time everyday. And on top of that, my contacts have been bothering me since the second day I started taking Loestrin. Let's just say a 5 day period with clear vision is WAY better than a 14 day blurry one!

My husband has been on Advair for about 1 month now and he is 24 years old. He has been experiencing worse asthma attcks then ever with constant mucus. Chest pain and pain in his pinky, unable to sleep at night at all. His eye sight was perfect but rescently he had to see an eye doctor for bluriness they perscribed him glasses. Will his eye sight stay blurry for good does anyone know? How can they give this crap out to people without warning them first about side effects? My husband even asked his doctor about side effects before taking it and the liar told him there are none. What kind of world has this become when Doctors can perscribe death in a disk? DO NOT TAKE IT EVER I URGE EVERYONE PLEASE FOR YOUR SAKE AND THE SAKE OF YOUR LOVED ONES.

I need some help. I have been on Yasmin for almost 4 years. Previously I was on ortho and was taken off of it due to an alarming weight gain and emotional side effects. Yasmin seemed GREAT until now... I am experiencing severe anxiety, shaking, headaches, blurred vision, hair loss, low sex drive and depression. I assumed this was all due to stress from graduating and entering the working world, but I have nothing to be upset or stressed about... I have such nervous thoughts and can sometimes say things that are just so unlike me.. I just don't feel myself. I am afraid to go off Yasmin and onto another pill in fear that things could get even worse... My previous experience with ortho was short but definitely not sweet. I am scared and afraid because I am only 22... Has anyone experienced anything like this that can give me some piece of mind?

I went on levaquin-2 rounds of it, due to pneumonia. I felt very out of sorts and discombobulated. Dizzyness, word recall problems, insomnia, diahrrea. My tongue was coated with a thick white film. One night my tongue and my hand felt very disconnected to me, and I had a strange but familiar taste or sensation in my mouth but I couldn't name it. It lasted 3 or 4 minutes. I think I may have had a petit mal seizure. I have been having trouble with my vision, things I read are blurry now, and I have never worn glasses, or had vision problems before. I have been off of this medication for 6 days now, and I am still feeling some of these side effects. I rarely have any side effects from medications. I will never take this again.

I have fbeen taking Flomax for 5 days. My doc never warned me about any side effects. I shlould have asked, but he is so fast and abrupt, he really does not give a guy any time to ask questions. So far, I have an occasional pain in my gut like I just got kicked. What really freaked me out was the fact that I have absolutely no semen output during ejaculation. That is a very strange side effect. Also, my legs seem weak. And my vision is very blurry. My urine stream is a little better, and I don't have to urinate as often. I slept through the night once or twice. Big deal. Not a good tradeoff in my estimation. I am so used to getting up 2 or 3 times a night, it really does not impact my sleep that much. Thanks to this board, I am going back to my Physicians Choice Super Prostate Formula. Google it. It has helped me and several guys that I know a lot. It definately made things a lot more manageable. I have nothing to do with the company that makes it. Just thought that I would give all of you a heads up on somehting that seems to help me a lot. Thanks.

I started taking Nuvaring last week and I'm 5 days in to it, yesterday I started feeling very neurotic...and fearful... teary and tired. The night before i hadn't slept well, so thats what I put it down to... had a lot going through my mind, my thoughts were racing...i waited until really late / early hours this morning to go to sleep so that i would sleep properly.. and i did... i read some of the symptoms last night before going to bed on this site because of the way I was feeling, I wanted a reason to be feeling the way i did....the comments scared me a little bit... I do have a tendancy to get slightly depressed and think too much... and do have a few reasons to be feeling a bit down at the minute so extra help in this department is definitely not needed.... but these feelings were way too extreme to be normal....so I was kind if glad to be able to put it down to something...anyway today i have an overwhelming tiredness. it hit me when i walked in the door this afternoon after popping out of the house for an hour and i literally lay straight down on the couch and slept for over an hour.... i haven't had a day nap for years...i usually couldn't if i wanted to. i could have then gone straight to bed and slept for hours.. but have managed to pull myself out of it....my vision was also really blurry whnen i woke up and couldn't see properly... i have had a few pains to the right of my chest over the last few days and twitches in my left arm... but i may have only noticed these due to reading about other peoples symptoms... i don't really want to take it out early.. but if i carry on feeling this tired during the week then I might... and will also see how my feelings go...i haven't taken the pill for years so it might be just my body's way of reacting to new hormones....we'll see.

I was prescribed 750mg of levaquin 9/11/07. I read all the side effects but also read in many scientific studies that the odds of these side effects occurring were slim. I believe the exact figures were around 1-3%. I have my bachelor's of science in biology and am planning to attend graduate school next year, so I thought I was educated enough in the realm of how drugs interact with the body. "1-3%" is such a low probability, right?

I took one pill at approximately 9pm then around 11pm I began to feel dizzy and light headed. I had been drinking water all day and continued to do so after taking the first dose so I decided to go to bed. I awoke the next morning still dizzy and my muscles ached. Then, while walking to the bathroom to put my contacts in, I began to hear ringing in my ears until it was all I could hear around me, I developed tunnel vision, then completely blacked out. The only way my vision returned is when I sat on the ground with my head between my knees barely moving. I remembered reading that levaquin could cause hypoglycemia so I literally crawled to the kitchen and poured a plethora of sugar into a cup of gatorade and drank it as quickly as I could. I've never been more thankful to be an athlete and keep that in my refridgerator constantly...well... I WAS an athlete. I haven't been able to walk, let alone run, without my head throbbing with each step.

It is now 9/19/07 and I still have a pounding headache that won't go away. It is as if my optic nerve is on fire. I've tried vitamins, flushing my body with constant fluid, sleep, massage, and an optometrist examination for new contact lenses in case the headaches were due to eye strain. Nothing has seemed to work. My sinus infection that the levaquin was initially prescribed for has subsided but I can only hope that this headache will subside as well.

Has anyone else experienced an on-going headache as well? And if so... what have you found provides relief?

I was prescribed 100mg. Almost immediately, I had horrible acne, espcially on my cheeks. My vision was also blurry and I was pretty tired, most of the day.

I had a grand-mal in October of '06, so I was first prescribed on Dilating. And then in December of '06 they also had me on Lamictal, but 50mg daily along with 300mg Dilantin. I was totally off Dilantin as of March '07 and was taking 200mg Lamictal daily. I had no side effects from Lamictal until I started noticing in May that I had staring spells. I didnt pay attention to it at first, and then I noticed that my staring spells were happening way more frequently. And if that wasnt bad enough, as time progressed, I started feeling spacey, had shortness of breath every once in a while, and a bit of anxiety. Now it is up to the point where Ive just about had it, since I've been spacing out wayyyy too much, and I sometimes feel SO fatigued for no reason...like the lifes been drained out of me. My vision has also been getting blurry which is another big annoyance. What Im wondering is that why would they give you medicine if it wasnt out for too long or even officially approved? Im hoping I can get off this medicine! I wanna drive and actually be able to pay attention to normal things instead of spacing out.

I am so happy to have found this website. I started taking Yasmin 2 months ago and was only on it for 1 month. I began a round of Prednisone at the same time due to hurting my back. Well, while tapering off of the pred (going into my 3rd week of Yasmin) I had one night of NO SLEEP. In the morning my muscles were so tight and painful I could barely walk. My heart was racing, I was so dehydrated I could barely speak, my vision was blurry, I couldn't form sentences clearly my head was in such a fog and I had lost 5lbs literally overnight ( I am already extremely thin naturally, so this is not a good thing for me) I was skin and bones. My normally thick, shiny hair became dry, thin and brittle and my skin broke out horribly and I had painful diarrhea. This is just the physical symptoms. The mental symptoms were out of control. I was crying all the time, yelling at everyone and just being completely irrational. I truly thought I was dying. My doctor thought maybe I was having withdrawal from the pred. This continued for a week until I started researching about Yasmin. I immediately stopped taking it after reading the side effects people were having as they were the same as mine. Strangely, they were also the same as prednisone withdrawal, the only problem was that I was off the pred and still having symptoms. Over the following 2 weeks, they slowly got better. Then, it all started again for my next cycle just to a much lesser degree since I was off the BCP. This makes me certain that my symptoms were absolutely from the BCP and not the Pred. I am reaching the end of my period today and my weight has gone back up and I am again starting to feel better. I just hope next month will be normal again. The thing that makes me the most angry is that my doctor refuses to believe that any of it had to due with the BCP. I have been on plenty of BCP's and NEVER experienced anything like this. This stuff needs to be pulled from the shelves or doctors need to be more aware of it's potential side effects and quit discounting our intelligence. Thank you everyone for your posts.

I have been on this pill for almost a month, I starte bleeding on the end of the second week, my doctor told me this was normal. I usually have horrible cramps but with this I ahve been fine so far. BUT....the weight gain is out of control....and the mood swings are bad too, no headaches or any other symptoms. I am very concerned about the weight gain though it reall is out of control, I have not been doing anything out of the ordinary with my diet, and I have no energy to get up and do anything. Is anyone else feeling this too? I am very happy that I only have two more months left on this crap. Good luck to you all, and know that there are other women going through the same thing.

I am so glad to see all these postings about Lisinopril! At least I now know that I'm not alone...and maybe I'm not crazy! My hair is falling out by handfuls every time I shampoo it. I thought it was my scalp psoriasis causing it, but now I know what it is! I even wonder now if the Lisinopril has brought on the scalp psoriasis! The weakness in my neck is driving me crazy along with just a general feeling of all-over muscle weakness. Feels like I can't hold my head up all the time! I can't get enough sleep, and feel tired all of the time. My vision is blurry, and I do have some tingling in my arms and fingers. My concentration is shot, so is my memory! I'm quitting this stuff and going to try the diet/exercise routine and see if that does the trick. Never had high blood pressure until I gained this extra 30 lbs. so maybe losing it will put me back where I need to be. Oh! did I mention that just the thought of sex is more than I can take, let alone trying it!

Anyone else have side effects that stayed with them several months after they quit???

I was on Celexa..and immediately after I took the meds..my vision would go blurry for a while..then it would go away until I took the next dose. B4 I knew it...my vision became blurry all the time. My dose was upped a bit..and the blurry'ness got worse......and it stayed with me all the time. .I've been off of Celexa for about 4 months and my vision is still blurry..not as bad..but not back to what it was b4.

Anyone else have side effects that stayed with them several months after they quit???

I am 25, white male, and have been on and off assvair for two years. At first it worked well and I thought God himself had touched me with that little purple circle. However, I have all of the following symptoms that have gotten worse in the last year, they include:blurry eyesight, tired all the time, gained 40lbs, always clearing my throat, sometimes hoarse, cough all the time, wheeze all the time, hives and skin irritation, asthama has gotten much worse especially since going from 100 dosage to 250/50. I feel horrible and of course my doctor, or previous doctor, said it had nothing to do with the advair, so apparently I just went from being reasonably healthy to a walking 25 yr old senior citizen ready to make the final cross over to the other side. I hate assvair because at first it gave me hope and now it sucks balls!

I started taking Yasmin about 10 days ago. On the first day I was at my computer and noticed that I suddenly couldnt focus on my screen. My vision became blurry. I also felt sharp shooting pains behind my legs.I took it for 7 days. During that time I became extremely tired, lethargic, fatigued, my eyes hurt. I slept for longer hours, and just felt generally drained. This was highly noticeable to me since I go to the gym everyday, and I didn't even have the zeal or energy to do that. My breasts became very sore and sensitive. The shooting pains moved from the back of my legs to random parts of my body. I stopped taking it after the 7th day and noticed an immediate improvement in my energy level the next day. I didnt need as much sleep, my eyes felt much better, not grainy and painful like I had to close them all the time. Now, the 11th day, my breasts are no longer tender, and all the other symptoms are gone. These are just the facts. I personally WILL NEVER take this pill again!!

I have been taking Topamax for about two weeks now just 25 mg to start and I woke up this morning and my perfect vision was no more.
EVERYTHING IS BLURRY. I was told that one of the side affects of this medication is Glacoma like symptoms where you lose your vision fast.
I was told to stop taking the medication and hopefully the symptoms will go away

Been on it for only 2 wks and feel very BLOATED. Think i gained about 3 lbs. already. Prob water retention. I hate it!! I have more headaches and my vision seems blurry.. but could be due to my contacts being drier. I also have dry mouth. Feel like it's dehydrating me cause I'm prob retaining more water. Also have headaches, cramps and GAS!! Losing more hair than usual... feel pregnant with cravings for sweets.. but I'm not experiencing crazy mood swings... maybe not yet. Debating whether i should get off of it. No crazy discharge either.

I am a 62 yr old lady that was started on Topamax a little more than 2 yrs ago for migraines that were getting worse as I was aging. After the first "weaning on" period I have been taking 100mg a day at bedtime for the entire time. Initially, I had a lot of tingling in my hands and feet, but it subsided somewhat and never seemed like a big deal. The Topamax brought my migraines to a grinding halt. However, more recently I've noticed quite a number of new increasing symptoms that are bothersome and scary. Difficulty concentrating, a certain amount of confusion, and some eye pain that sometimes feels like pressure and my vision is blurry. My balance does not seem quite normal. I'm not really dizzy, but I have "missed" a step too many times lately. My mind functions do not seem all together "there". Normal functions like spelling, counting change, answering questions, like my address and phone number, aren't always easy especially if I'm under pressure or get upset. Backaches and joint pains are present, but since I have Degenerative Disc Disease it is hard to distinguish the source of the pain. The problem is I cannot determine if this is from the medication or if I am experiencing another kind problem. ? Most medications have side effects; however, if the benefits out weigh the (negative) side effects, it is worth it.

2 weeks ago went to doctor for lung problems. Labeled an asthmatic and was put on Advair and singulair. Now my vision is going bad. Blurry smokey vision...similar to the vision effects of putting in eye ointment in.

I was given Levaquin for pneumonia and while I was on it, I did not have to wear glasses (my eyes are 20/375 and 20/400). I noticed about 3 days into the meds that when I put my glasses on, it was extremely blurry and without them, I was able to see better than with them. Once I was off the meds for about 3 days, I had to go back to my glasses...darn the bad luck. No one knew what I was talking about when I called my doctor and the pharmcist as well. Everyone laughed about it until someone that I worked with had the same exact thing happen to her while she was in the hospital for pneumonia! I suppose that we were fortunate after reading all of the other posts. Just wanted to share this, in case there was someone else out there that was experiencing sudden vision improvement and couldn't explain why.

I have been on this medication for a year now. It has helped my Blood Pressure but I do have a lot of the side effects listed here. I have a dry cough all the time and I am haveing a terrible time with blurry or duouble vision. I am not sure if this is from the meds or from the Graves Disease but I do know that I see double a lot. I also have a lot of headaches, dry itchy skin around my eyes. The biggest problem I have is that I am allways tired. I feel like I have just run a marathon all the time. I just want to sit around and do nothing and that is not me at all. I try to stay busy but for the ost part I am content to sit around, listen and not talk to people and again that does not fit my Type "A" personality at all.

hi guest 33365,
well done for being so supportive of your wife.
I had all of those symptoms plus more that your wife has had.
My husband eventually begged me to stop taking yasmin.
Maybe some women are not suited to taking any of the contraceptive pills.
Personally since i stopped taking artificial hormones i have felt so much better.
For me, yasmin was the pill with the most side effects.
My blurry eyesight disappeared after stopping the yasmin.
Look up naprotechnology.
It is a great and safe alternative.
Best of luck

When I started taking Topamax a couple of years ago, I noticed that I had changes in my night vision. It was so strange. It was like I would see aura-like images. Flashes of light, etc. and kind of blurry. As soon as I cut WAY down on the doasge, it went away. It worked very well for a couple years, then I began getting cluster headaches. They just told me to increase my dosage and I'm a little nervous. I lost 25 lbs when I first started.
