I started using the ring about a week ago. Everything was fine til I started getting sick. Shortly after I contracted a bladder infection. I thought it was just another bladder infection cuz I've gotten them before. About 3 days in using the ring I woke up with a mouth full of blood. The blood was seeping out of my gums from my teeth, and the bladder infection was only getting worse. I began running a fever, had a sore throat and felt extremely weak. I couldn't take it anymore, I felt these symptoms were occuring from the ring. I finally pulled it out seeing a large amount of gunk attached to the ring. The next day my mouth had ceased bleeding and I as a whole felt much better. I still am battling the bladder infection, but once the doctor's office is open I can get some antibiotics to fix that. My son is 7 and has been taking singulair for about 3 1/2 years, we first noticed that he was rowdy and very tempermental, he also had trouble sttling down at night. The Dr. didn't put much faith in my concern for the medication. Recently he has tried to seriously harm himself and has been quite down, we have seen the Dr. and he has never once woried about the side effects of the medication. i came across some very disturbing information in the canadian cps boo that supported my theory and have taken him off the medication, within the first few days he seemed very down, but has now returened to my fun loving sweet little boy. Thanks to everyone for sharing I would never have thougth to pursue this if there were not other parents who had the same experience.

My 21 month old son started Singulair a little over a month ago. I didn't notice the correlation between the change in his behavior and when he started taking it, bad mommy! I realized it today....
Starting 3 weeks or so ago, he stopped taking daytime naps for me. He also stopped going to bed until 11 pm at night, and was absolutely WIRED all day long. He has been extremely moody,
and hyper to say the least. I am WORN out from this, because I am 7 months pregnant! He has been very defiant and disobedient. He wakes up multiple times at night, and hates sleeping in his own bed.
He also STILL keeps horrible allergies, ear infections, and the like. He bruises easily now, and takes forever for his 'boo boos' to heal... even small scratches. I don't know why I didn't notice the correlation earlier, but I do now, and I hope someone can benefit from reading this! I don't think I'd recommend singulair for any child now. Tonight is our first night without it, and so far he is in bed by 8 pm. Hopefully things will get better here on out.
