I have been on lisinopril for a few months now, as of this past Monday I stopped taking it. I am 55 years old, blood pressure was not going down extremely fast just being on Hydrochlorothiazide, but not over the border line either. Doctor suggested Lisinopril to lower my blood pressure lower in addition to the other.

I immediately developed the cough. I have also since been to the doctor for what I thought were symptoms leading up to a heart attack or stroke. Nausea, rapid heart beat, lots of anxiety feelings, even when trying to sleep, light headed, a sudden feeling of just going to fall. They have completed an EKG and a treadmill stress test, nothing showed anything abnormal.

I am convinced it is the Lisinopril. Also, when I questioned my Doctor a while back that my blood pressure was now very low, like 107/71 on some days, he did not seem to concerned, he suggested I take one or the other every other day, so much for follow up on the patient. Did not even bother to check to see if it made a difference.

I agree with the other people, Doctors do not seem to take you serious when trying to describe your symptoms especially if you are a smoker. I know smoking is bad, but if I were not a smoker would I be treated a whole lot different. I just know that I want to see the difference being off of Lisinopril then I will approach my Doctor.

As most of you, my TSH always came back normal/border line as well. However, due to all of my symptoms - every single one for Hypothyroid - they went ahead and did an ultrasound. I had a nodule 15mm x 5mm on the left lobe and 5mm x 4mm on the right. Because I had the constant "turtleneck" feeling around my throat, it was getting hard to swallow and sounded like I was an 11 year old boy gowing through puberty again, because of the hoarseness, I had Total Thyroidectomy last week. My surgeon put me on 150mg of Synthroid. So far so good with the side effects, granted it's only been 6 days. I actually have more energy, and a decrease in appetite. I've already lost 5 lbs. Not real sure if my energy level has gone up because I no longer have a thyroid to bring it down or if it is from the medication. Either way I hope my side effects stay as they are, I could stand to lose another 50 lbs - haha

I was put on PredniSone for a lung virus that i developed asthma due to. I had been border line asthmatic for 10yrs. Dosage was 6tabs 3days, 5 tabs 3days ...etc... I am two days from finishing my dosage and I have had sever leg cramps for the past week. I wake up 2 to3 times a night and have to walk around. I wake up at least 3 times and are able to straighten up enough and go back to sleep. I have also had to get up 2 to 3 times a night to urinate. This is uncommon for me. Hopefully with discontinued use these side effects will stop. I need to get a good night rest. I will never want to take PredniSone again.

I have been on lisinopril 10 mg for a couple of years to control border line BP. The cough during the night was upsetting at the beginning but I eventally adjusted to it. I don't know if other digestive problems are also related to the drug. About a month ago my pharmacy told me it switched to another drug provider but that the drug is the same (it's now a round white pill instead of an oval pink pill previously) and suddenly I felt totally ill and now I have many of the symptoms described on this site, no energy, sleepy, depressed. I also have the ear-plugged feeling. Has anyone had a switch in the size/color of the drug and noticed a difference right away? I cut the pill in half but still feel bad and I think I want to stop taking this medication, it really makes me sick and not myself at all.

I have had dizziness, rapid heartbeat, headaches, intolerance of caffeine and alcohol even in small amounts.

Also, menstruation for over a month and exhaustion due to an epidural of kenalog to treat a herniated disk.

Has anyone had prolonged periods as a result of same and did you take progesterone to stop the period?

I am reluctant to take any more medicine as I usually prefer physical therapy and other natural means if at all possible but I am getting very drained as the days go on and I continue to menstruate. I have taken a blood test which shows "normal "ranges for everything although I am on the border line of anemia.

My back pain is better but had I known how poorly the cortisone would affect me I would never have chosen this procedure.

The doctor says that I just have to wait out the side effects.

I have been suffering for what is amost 2 months and I am anxious to return to a normal state so that I can regain some strength. I have been greatly weakened overall despite the moderate relief acheived for my back pain.
