Hi I'm 36, with high blood pressure. I have been on 25mg/day hydrochlorothiazide since July 08. I went in for normal 3month check up and Dr tells me that my bottom number is to high, so she gives me yet another pill to take(yep you guessed it) Lisinopril. I filled the RX in the morning, by lunch time, I felt sick to my stomach, dizzy, everything hurt. I thought I had gotten the flu. This was just 2 days before my daughter and my mothers birthday.(both the same day) We had big plans after all you only turn 18 once. I put a smile on and went to the party, but it was living hell. My Fiance' noticed that I didn't start feeling bad until after I had taken that new pill. I only took 1 a day for 3 days and it took me over a month to feel half way normal again.

I pulled out the Mirena 2 days ago. I am still bleeding very heavily & have cramping. Nothing nearly as bad as when the device was inside of me though. I feel much better & have already lost some of the weight. I just wish I could stop bleeding. I have a follow up appointment on March 6th. I'll post results of that after my visit. Good luck to you all.

P.S. I had very high blood pressure before my pregnancy & was on 2 medications which they suspended as my pressure went down. I gave birth in November. In the last 10 days my diastolic number ( bottom number) has been over 100!!!!!! That is way too high for me or anyone else. I am still monitoring my blood pressure to see if it was the Mirena or whether I just have my high blood pressure returning on it's own.
If anyone else has had a similar experience please let me know.
Thanks

Well day 5 off the meds......the Withdrawl the first few days wasn't easy a lot of sweating...errability etc but it seems to have leveled off and all side effects have lessened the reason why they haven't completely gone is because I am still taking have a pill a day which is 80mg instead of the full 160mg.....really scary part is pressure was actually lower with the lower dose.......its about 140 over 90 which for me is good and that was in the morning when pressure is usually the highest in people....for all I know I could be even lower later in the day
I am also starting day 1 of exercise I am hoping this will bring the pressure into normal ranges especially the bottom number 90 is too high still ..overall though I feel better today.......we will see :) hopefully I will not have to go back on these scary hypertension meds !

Ladies,

I am finally starting to feel a little bit less anxious (it's been about 3 weeks since I stopped taking Yasmin) but I have a question for you, after I went to the doctor today (primary care) - My blood pressure was something like 110/90 - with isolated high diastolic (bottom number), and I suggested that my blood pressure had previously always been good until Yasmin, and that perhaps even though I quit the yasmin it hadn't worked it's way out yet...the doctor said she didn't think so, but again, she's primary care - anybody have any experience with this?

Thanks
