I URGE YOU TO PLEASE SUBMIT ANY ADVERSE EVENTS OF THIS TERRIBLE KENALOG DRUG TO THE FDA--JUST CLICK THIS LINK AND COMPLETE THE FORM: http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/. The FDA is responsible for assuring safety of medications. Therefore, it is imperative that the FDA recognize the adverse effects to provide any credibility to a class action suit. Please consider forwarding your case to the FDA to force them into action and begin addressing these atrocities.
Here's my case: I am also a victim of having the Kenalog injection administered over a year ago to alleviate poison ivy itching symptoms. Prior to having the injection, I was not informed of any side effects. Not only did the injection not alleviate the symptoms, but has resulted in a discolored and uncomfortable indentation in my left buttock area and psychological anguish because of disfigurement of my body. It is over a year later and the indent remains and continues to cause discomfort. The dermatologist who administered the injection stated that there was nothing I could do to reverse such effects. I reported my case to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) Med Watch and strongly urge others to report their adverse event to the FDA (see link above).

I took simvastatin about a year ago and took myself off it because I had really agonizing night cramps in my legs. A different doctor recently persuaded me to take the drug again because my cholesterol was high, but after only two weeks this time I have a swollen throat and tongue and a persistent cough. Last night I had a breathing problem and thought I was going to die - I just couldn't get any breath into my lungs. I woke up every half hour or so in the night, unable to breathe. I'm thinking I shouldn't be taking these things into my body if they have such dreadful effects. Are they common> Does anybody else have these effects?

Within the hour of taking it my heart started to beat very fast and breathing became difficult. Then I had difficulty speaking or forming words and had trouble walking. I grew increasingly tired and decided to lay down and had difficulty opening my eyes. I still couldn't talk so I decided to sleep it off. The next morning I still had trouble breathing and still do after a week or so of taking it. The doctors I have spoken to don't seem to think it's anything serious and don't care to document these reactions in my chart. The breathing problem occurs about twice a day and lasts about 1 and 1/2 hours. I was taking this medication for anxiety and depression.

I took Lipitor for 4 or 5 years. I lost count. I am a type II diabetic and the Dr. threw tons of prescriptions at me. I was convinced all my problems were not the result of Lipitor because my sister's Dr. told her that if you had the muscle pain you would have it all over. Well I got sick of feeling like I was 85 years old. I am 57. I know I am not young anymore, but I couldn't sit for more than a few minutes without having trouble getting up. The right top of my leg hurt so bad some times that I could hardly walk . I also had really bad pain on the right side of my lower leg. I had pains in my neck and shoulders and attributed it to stress at work.Last, but not least I had terrible gas and bloating. The gas was downright embarrasing. Well I took it upon myself to stop taking it. Within several days I felt like a new woman! The minute I woke up one morning I could feel the difference before I even got out of bed. I felt like I had been given my life back.
When I called my Dr. to let her know she wasn't very happy and wanted me to come in. Well now she put me on Crestor and it's been two weeks and the old pains and gas are coming back. I am NOT going to take these terrible statins anymore. They say that the muscle and joint aches are rare, but that is only because most doctors won't listen to their patients. You know your own body better than anyone else.
I have heard that some of the "older" statins are not as powerful and they don't have as many side effects. Has anyone else heard this or had any experience using them?
All I know is that for now I am off statins.

I
I am currently taking a 40mg lipotor. I have devloped chronic hives mosttly on my arms and thighs. The itchng is so bad that I scratch these welts in my sleep. I have been on Plavix 75 mg since my first cardio-chatherization which has made my blood so thin that I actually bleed when I scratch. I'm now in a itch and scratch cycle that keeps me from sleeping. My doctor originally started me on 10 mg. This was before I started having clogged coronary arteries'. I am 74 years old. I have just had my second bypass operation. I started on lipitor 10 mg about eight years ago. I developed a hive like welt in my groin area. This welt or hive itched so bad that I damaged the skin. I went to a dermatoligist and the only answer he had after a biopsy was that it was probably Lichon Planus. I had a triple pass July 18 2007. That is when my doctor increased my lipitor dosage to 40 mg. He had increased it to 20 mg several years. I finally realized that it may be the 40 mg dose that causes me to wake about three hours later with Hives and itching that is so bad that even scratching doesen't relieve the itch.
I have seen two dermotoligsts. They can find nothing that I am allergic to. This condition has gotten progressivly worse over the last three years. I am taking Zanix and Benedryl I have eliminated all of my other medicines as the cause.
The only thing I could see as a possible cause is acute anxiety. After seeing my family doctor he prescribed the Zanix.
My last hope for relief is to get off Lipitor. I stopped taking it two days ago
and I already see a change in this chronic hive condition; I am assuming that it may take a while to see if I have solved my problem.
Incidently I started takng Zocor about three years ago instead of the Lipitor and I had such severe neck and shoulder pain that it was obvious Zocor was the cause.
zocor was the cause

I had to get a kenalog shot when I moved to another part of the state I live in because I was having trouble breathing. This was 12 years ago when I was 19. My breathing problem cleared up immediately and I didn't have any symptoms? Two years ago I developed some sort allergie that created blisters all over my legs from right above my knees down, they itched like crazy and the scratching I was doing was causing infection. I had to go on bactribin for 4 wks. The blisters came back almost immediately so my physician gave me a shot of kenalog and the ichting and blisters went away with in days. I did gain some weight and there were some cramps in my legs but the benefits (for me) far out-weight the problems before I took the shot.

Mine is nothing new according to the previous posts. I primarily have a problem with breathing and weight gain. I ride (rode) my bicycle 15 plus miles a day for years, but now it is a distant dream because of the severe breathing problem that begins in my upper chest and rises to my throat.
One pulmonologist tested me for asthma and said it appeared to be a reflux problem (without heartburn) that causes the acid in my upper digestive system to rise into my esophagus eventually causing this blockage of my windpipe. I can stop, sit for 15 minutes and then begin to exert myself again and sometimes it returns but sometimes does not.
No one mentioned the medicine, which I have been on for 5 years at 40 mg (because lower doses were ineffective.)
Once, I was given a different generic than I had been taking for 3 year, and it proved to be completely useless in controlling my BP. However, the choking did stop at that time, though I only notice it was the medication now.
Now, I am on a new lisinopril called Longes, which is made in Japan, so I became curious about the side effects. I will monitor this nedication for a few weeks and let you know if anything unusual happens. For now, it does appear to be controlling my BP.

I started taking Lisinopril for my bp about 2 1/2 months ago and even though it did lower my bp, I started having strange side-effects. It started out with drowsiness throughout the day, no matter how much sleep I got. And, waking up feeling drowsy even after 8-10 hours of sleep. Then, I started getting strange aches and pains throughout my body, like I was getting over a stomach flu. My asthma also flared up and I started having to use my inhaler for the first time in almost 15 years (usually I just need it after exercise.) The side-effects continued to get worse over the next months with increased fatigue, drowsiness, coughing, anxiety, muscle aches, poor concentration, feeling like my nerves were "shot," headache, weakness, tightness in my lungs, numbness in my hands and feet, and just plain feeling bad.
I made an appointment to see my doctor because I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. It crossed my mind that I might be feeling this way because of the Lisinopril. I stumbled across this website and after reading everyone's testimonials, I decided to stop the Lisinopril. I haven't taken it in 3 1/2 days, and I am already feeling much better. I would rather try a more holistic approach to lowering my bp then taking Lisinopril.
I hope this helps someone else out there who might be going through the same thing.

i think it is time for a public awareness effort about this drug. if you agree, please send your name, address and a summary of your experience to my email. i will organize a joint petition and send it to merck and the fda. many children are being harmed by this drug and parents are not aware.
if we can get an organized effort together, perhaps we can at least get the fda to begin an investigati

I went to the doctor for trouble breathing. I also wanted to take a physical cause I have never taken one. So he just checked me and prescribed me prednisone 10mg 1pill every antibiotics, and an Inhaler.
The side effect was swollen face and neck within the week of taking it. I would take one a day or sometimes I wouldnt take it and vise versa. But It was supposed to be for 5 day wich would be 10 pills and since. The doctor said yeah keep taking it. So this past week has been 6 more.
16pills in total through a period of three weeks and what I feel is
Pain in my left shoulder. Like muscle pain. My breathing problem once in a while. When I dont have anxiety. My face is not swollen, cause when it did get swollen I would feel it.
Well the doctor said after my X-ray exam that I had bronchitis and previous imflammatory disease. but still I dont know what was the problem in the first place.
For this amount of prednisone how Much effect is it going to do?
Because its been 2 days that I dont take it.

I have had trouble breathing with Topamax. I have been on the med twice. The first time, my doctor suspected that the mix of Allegra D and the Topamax caused an allergic reaction, the feeling of someone sitting on my chest and a breathing difficulty. So, she told me to stop both of them cold turkey. I did. The side effects went away, I felt better after 3 days. My migraines came back so I went to see a neurologist who wanted to try the Topamax again. I agreed to try it. I feel that familiar breathing problem, but not as bad. This time around, I think it is triggering asthma attacks which I have never had before. Someone was cutting the grass next door and when I breathed it in, I couldn't breathe. I had to shut the windows quickly and I coughed until I caught my breath. There was a natural gas smell in my apartment bldg. last week, I was in the hall for 4 mins. and had to leave quickly because it took my breath away. It took me 20 mins. to stop coughing. When I smell nail polish or the remover, etc. now, I can't breathe. I left the house yesterday and was panting while driving. I can't walk on my new treadmill without breathing hard. That never used to happen. Other side effects include pain behind my eye when I go out in the sun, my lips burn every time I go out in the sun, so do my ears, tingling in my thumbs and feet that can be painful, allergic to my cats now (breaking out in hives), and just not quick with the mind like I used to be. I know I shouldn't be driving. I've only been taking it for 6 weeks.

I have been taking Singulair for almost a year for asthma. I visited my family physician and he prescribed it for me and also gave me an inhaler. It only helped a little bit. I found out that we had a mold/mildew problem in our house from a water leak. I moved there and having been living in a new place for 5 months. After the 1st couple months, the asthma did not clear up. I went to a allergist and they said it is from acid reflux and not asthma. I have been taking prevacid for a couple months. The breathing problem has starting clearing up. This week my doctor said to stop taking the singulair. I also just started seeing another doctor for my ADHD. This same week he put me on 10mg of adderall 2x a day. So far I have been feeling a lot better and not so depressive and impatient or angry as some put it. I also have been able to get up earlier and not always so tired. I quit my job and am starting a new in a couple days. Also, I put on a little weight & size since taking singulair. My waist and neck size expanded.
Maybe I am feeling better maybe because of the new meds and maybe because I stopped singulair and even getting a new job (i hated my other one). The thing I can't figure out is that after i stopped the singulair I had this pressure in my stomache area but it doesn't feel like it is in my stomach (it doesn't have the full feeling). It felt like this for a couple days. 4 days after I stopped it, my stomach area under my sternum swelled up. I could feel it as it was doing it and it bulged out a little. This happened within an hours time. I went to the hospital and they ran test and everything was ok.
They said to wait and see what happens or go get a laxitive to release my system because it was just gas. I didn't use the bathroom this day or the next. I took the laxitive. My system cleaned out today but my stomach area still doesn't feel right. Any ideas?

I was rx pred. by my dr. 40 mgs for 5 days for my bronchitis.
I have never had bronchitis and/or any type of breathing problem.
This was in Dec.
Since then, my immune system has been shot and every other week , I catch a cold.
This is really frustrating, since I am for the most part, an extremely healthy and strong person.
Pred. really weakens your immunity.
when is this going to stop?

I understand now, after reading this site, the major difficulty for me was that my breathing problem (allergic reaction) put me in a state of vulnerablity that allowed me to put up with side effects and trust my doctor that it wasn't the advair. For almost two years I was told my problems were not caused by advair....which I now know isn't true.
Darryl, do you mind if we all (those of us wishing to discuss the issues further) e-mail you and you keep us on a distribution list for bulk mailing?
I'll e-mail you at: ******
I think if we have too many contact people it would be confusing. Let us know, if this is OK with you.
Thanks!

I was prescribed advair last week for a breathing problem that my dr could not diagnose. At first i was thrilled to be feeling better but now notice a horrible shaking in my hands and legs as well as nervousness and a general feeling of anxiety.
I also have experienced sleeplessness and leg pain and am going to immediately stop taking this drug.

I have had bronchitis for 3 weeks. I first was prescribed a 5-day Z-pack, which didn't do the trick. Went back to the clinic doctor, as I don't have insurance, and I switched to Levaquim, 500mg/day, once a day, for 7 days. Its now 5 days in and I'm still sick. I don't cough a lot because of the Hydromet cough syrup, but I can tell I'm still sick.
Side effects have been insomnia mainly, and a sporadic inability to concentrate. I have not been nauseas at all, nor have I had any of the joint or other pain reported by other people. I can't even be sure the side effects I have had are from the Levaquin, as opposed to the cough syrup.
