Do not take this drug and exercise!! I was given samples of 750mg for 10 days for bronchitis. I was trying to get well for a 20 mile race that was quickly approaching. I have never had any side effects, so I was determined to get my runs in. After I felt a little better, I went on a long training run. My quads were on fire and I had no power in my legs. This does not happen ever during a long run. Needless to say, I did not make it to the race, but I did do a half marathon 6 days after my last dose. I had the same symptoms! Burning of the quads after only 6 miles, and loss of power in the legs. This stuff must stay in your system for a while. Afterwards I had a friend tell me (who works for an internist) that he never prescribes athletes this drug due to tendon damage! Repeat: do not take if you are an avid athlete!!

I've used Nasonex for at least 5+ years now. I thought it was wonderful. BUT now I realize that some of my other health problems may be due to Nasonex. For years now I am tired, shortness of breath (which is getting worse) and chest pains. Has anyone else have these symptoms?

I am a 46 year old female and have had asthma all my life, medication, shots, inhalers. The past year it got very bad and I was going through inhalers almost weekly. My doctor put me on advair in may of this year.I was so happy it really helped my asthma,no inhalers. Then the side effects started-I felt sick like I had broncitis, sore throat ,sounding hoarse, headaches, very annoyed, anxious, moody, felt like throwing-up,not sleeping, urinary tract infection, backache, confusion, weight gain.I thought I was very ill and was almost afraid to go to the doctor, then I thought about being put on advair and when the symptoms started.I looked up side-effects and BINGO! I am going to tell my doctor to get me off this, kinda afraid I'll get really bad asthma again, but what do you do?Feel like total gargage every day?or not be able to breath? What a choice. This all took place in a matter of 5 months.Everyone is different, every body can or cannot tolerate certain drugs.People do know their own bodies and why doctors don't listen or believe them I don't know. But,I sick and tired of being sick and tired and my whole summer was wasted thanks to advair.Hope I have another option.Lisa K.

I am 48 yrs old and have been on Advair 500/50 for a little over three years now and although it helped my asthma dramatically in the beginning, everyone around me has commented on the crazy mood swings I have been experiencing for the past two years. I have also developed a very persistent case of thrush in my mouth/throat that never seems to go away-the doctor keeps on asking me if I rinse my mouth and it's starting to get annoying because I'd be an idiot not to rinse out my mouth-I even gargle, but the thrush keeps coming back! Also,my throat always feel tight-I frequently feel like I'm choking and I get hoarseness that interferes with the important thing like reading a book to my son. Recently, I have started bruising very easily. Everytime I mention all these things to my doctor she says that I should stay on the Advair and disregards my complaints about the side-effects. I would really like to stop using it, but I stopped once for Three weeks and I had a really bad bout of tightness in my chest and shortness of breath-any suggestions on how to get off it and what I can do instead?? I forgot to mention that I have gained weight and even dieting won't get the weight off-I am very active and exercise, but the weight stays.

I have used Advair since November, 2003, first 250/50, then 500/50 after a bout with broncitis and phneumonia, and now 150/50 since last winter. My only side affect that I think is a side affect is I have had an increase in blood pressure that caused me to have to take mods, and my eyes have been giving me a fit this past year, draining, mucus, blurred vision at times. except for those I am thankful for the drug. After having severe asthma all of my life, since I was 1 year old and I am now 56, I am a new person all together. Not one asthma attack since the second day after I started using the inhaler. Now I get an albuteral inhaler and it expires before I ever use it.

My husband has been on Lisinopril for three months. Right after he started to cough. The Doctor treated him with antibiotics for pnumonia, and then broncitis. Then medicated him for acid reflux(thinking that was causing the problem) Still no luck! He then was sent to Ear,Nose, and Throat specialists who treated him for allergies. No luck either. His regular Doctor then thought is might be the Lisinopril!! Well, he has been off this drug for a week and still coughing with nasal drainage etc.and is exhausted all the time. Any Idea how long this will last..and when I will get my fun husband back? At least long enough to get a kiss without a cough!! Thanks for any ideas.

Regarding the other post, headaches are a listed side effect. I took prednisone for two days - 40mg each. I am on day 3 without taking it due to side effects. At first anxiety symptoms and shaking hands and shortness of breath, then excessive sweating, abdominal pain, excessive urination, and hip and shoulder pain. Never mind the mood and personality changes, which occurred within hours of taking the 1st dose. Now, I still have really bad shoulder pain and sweating. Anyone who has gone through this, how long does it take, and what can help my body get over this faster??? Doctors should better inform patients of side effects - and my doctor is having me tested for parvovirus today--even though the symptoms I have are not consistent with it, and are all listed side effects of predisone----by the way, I had to find the side effects myself. I was sick (broncitis) and did not have the energy when I started the medication. Now I am angry that I was so poorly informed.

I would just like to say one more thing about the drug prednisone. I hate all of the nasty side effects but, I will never forget that I almost died from a severe asthma attack. I developed broncitis and could not breathe...with tubes up my nose and an I.V. in my arm I was bed ridden for 4 days. I mean taking 10 lousy steps to the bathroom was exhausting. I was 29 years old and before this I was always healthy. I can complain to high heaven about getting swollen but swollen is better than dead. I hope someday there is a medication that has less side effects but, until then I am grateful to walk to my bathroom at home or anywhere in the world....thanks to prednisone. Jenn

I was prescibed levaquin 500mg. 10 days for broncitis, day 3 I had severe leg and muscle pain, also severe swelling in my feet, I feel like I ran a 26 mile marathon!! also severe fatigue. I did not have any symptoms like this before I started levaquin in my life. pharmisist says this not one of the sideaffects!!!! I told him this is a relatively NEW drug so the jury is not in... I think the fda should do more tests on this drug!!!! hopefully leg pain and feet swelling will go away soon, but other people comments is not reassuring!!!

Esophagus pain, chest pain. Doctor said that the Doxy caused it b/c I didn't take with a full glass of water. Called in a new perscription for a "slurry" which will/should help. Have taken Doxy many other times for Broncitis, don't really understand why this happened this time. Onset of Chest pain was 3 days AFTER taking last dose.

My brother was prescribed Levaquin in reference to broncitis. He is a very mild mannered individual but suffered a violent and psychotic episode within days. He cited no sleep and delusions. He has never acted in this manner. Can any one help me figure out what's happened to him? He is looking at being institutionalized over this and losing his job.

I've taken it 2xs now & have sharp/severe pain in my stomach & also my bck???? I've had tussionex (sp?) b4 with bronchitis & that didn't do this crap! Even the grapey tasting syrup doesn't do it either. While I've found grape syrup not as great on cough but the thick fruity tasting tussionex is good (just a bit stronger when I took 1st time I was cocky about it thought it couldn't be that strong..umm wrong!! Kicked my butt! It did work though!
