HEY!! WOW!!! THANK YOU LORD! I thank everyone for posting! I have been taking Lisinopril for 2 days and just after two days I noticed the following, YES TWO (2) DAYS!:
Extreme Dizziness
Lightheaded
Increased Heart Rate
Awful Headache
At first I thought these were PMS symptoms but I have become great at combating these with exercises and fruit - as soon as I get my heart rate up and build a sweat and eat some fruit, I am fine. BUT I tried this the other day and I felt so groggy and fatigued. And I am a stickler for not taking medications, even OTC Pain Relievers, I believe in "Au Natural"... anyway I went to the park and walking up a simple hill, I felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. Then the headache seem to have gotten worse as well as the nausea. For breakfast I had a Kale Smoothie (OJ, Kale, Pear, Ice Blended) and didn't go for the walk until about an hour later. I consumed some water and started at a slow pace, but that didn't help. I also felt very tense and anxious and I thought WAIT A MINUTE! So I started to retrace my 'steps' of what I had eaten (Sunday Night: Red Beans w/ Brown Rice, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, and Turnip Greens) I said, okay nothing out of the ordinary there. Monday and Tuesday light meals such as a Falafel and Salad ... so I said let me read the side effects of this medicine and sure enough, the Nausea and Dizziness was on the printout from the pharmacy! I said okay this is it. I am not taking this stuff anymore, it's only been TWO FREAKING DAYS!! I'd hate if I take it longer. I am going to call my doctor to schedule an appointment to go over these symptoms, and opt for another prescription. In the interim, I am increasing my water intake and drinking prune juice as well as raw leafy veggies to help with the detox. And moderate walking to get my pores opened up. Thanks again and I appreciate all of your comments. Be prayerful and take good GOD care! LS, 28 year old black female

I had my Mirena IUD put in May 1st of 2007 and all the side effects that came along with it......the constant spotting, acne, itching breasts (which I thought was due to new bras that I had just purchased), nausea, depression (which I had to go back to taking Wellbutrin), no energy; tired all the time. My biggest side effect which I have not found any others to have is Allergies. I know it sounds crazy, but I have never had problems with allergies until a month and half after getting the IUD, extreme allergy symptoms, swollen glands, neck pain, very shortness of breath; to the point that I was down for a whole day here and there, I am having to take Allegra; had to get a steroid shot. Now that it is cold, I thought I would be getting break from the allergies, nope. I joined a gym hoping that it would help in giving me energy, nope.........I have talked to my Dr and the nurses that work with my gyno and they act as if I am making this stuff up. It is very frustrating when you know that your body has done a complete 360 in the wrong direction and everyone seems to think your crazy.
Well I am having my IUD taken out as soon as I can!

I have been taking Prednisoner about 2-3 times per year for my allergies and asthma for the past 3 years. Usually I gain a few pounds and have insomnia for a day or two. This time is out of control. I stopped taking it almost three weeks ago and I still have insomnia, neck stiffness, fatigue, a low grade fever, nausea and a sensitivity so strong to heat that I have a panic attack every time I get hot or go outside. My doctor has no idea what to do. He said it will go out of my system eventually. Suggested lots of water and a detox diet of brown rice, beans and veggies - no refined flour, sugar or caffeine. Anyone having anything similar? Xanax doesn't work for me. I've been taking Benadryl to sleep.

I've been on synthroid now for about a year. My dosage is VERY little (0.075). My doctor keeps running blood tests every 3 months and assures me I am within the "lower-end" of the norm, but I still feel tired, sleep deprived, wake up with night-sweats and I keep gaining weight...
I am only 24 and have just been told that I need to take this medication for the rest of my life, it\s pretty depressing. I keep asking if there are other ways to lose weight and feel more energized. He tells me that I need to keep taking this medication and has put me on a "sleep hygeine" routine where I go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
Does this "disease" mean I will always be overweight and tired for the rest of my life? I would like to know if someone else with more experience with this medication can give any sort of advice? Feeling a little hopeless about it and not really interested in complaining to my doctor anymore.
Thanks:)
