I started taking lisinopril 20mg Nov. 12, 2008. I've never smoked poison ivy before, but that's how I describe the constant side effect. Sinus and upper gums, upper chest. A dull allergic feeling. Some days I am preoccupied with it, gets depressing. Does keep the BP down. I am weaning the dose down to stop. I know you're not supposed to stop taking them, but I am sick of feeling sick. I've told the doctor twice, I think he thinks I am imagining it. I don't have insurance, it cost me $300.00 out of pocket to see him for ten minutes. I hate felling trapped like this.

43 yo Male 5'9, I weighed 259 lbs 2 years ago. I am now 221 lbs. I want to be 200 lbs. Work out 3 times a week gym. Take vitamins. Diet is better than what it was.
Can't say I am not trying. But if all BP meds are like this, I will no longer take them, and just take my chances.

HEY EVERYONE! well i'm 20 and after having my daughter in may 08 i decided to get the mirena because i've heard nothing but good things about it from my doctors.I received a phone call from my younger brother telling me that I needed to go to this site and look up these side affects that everyones been having. And now looking at what everyones side affects are it got me thinking about my own.I've never lost my baby bulge,my periods are completely bizarre,I started to get achne all over my back that I haven't had in YEARS! and a little bit on my face as well.I have been gaining weight and wondered why I wasn't loosing it.One day i got a SERIOUS migraine, constant nausea, once in a while i would get depressed for no reason at all and stomach pains were constant.I honestly thought it was all just in my head.Everyone was looking at me like i was some freak coming up with things to complain about.haha. Truth is Mirena was a HUGE mistake. Some months my periods where lighter, while others lasted almost a whole month!! My suggestion to anyone who has Mirena,TAKE IT OUT NOW! don't risk your health.Theres other ways of preventing pregnancy.

I had mirena put in after my second baby.. at first everything was great.. i loved it never had a problem. then one night my husband and i had date night i drank no more than normal for me and totally BLACKED out. at first i thought it was cause i hadn;t had a drink in over a year but it happened several times again. i couldn't lose the baby bulge and in fact i started gaining weight. I for no reason started getting hateful nasty mean and angry at my husband for the silliest things. I started crying at commercials on t.v. i thought ohh it's post pardom or i'm just getting older. well the fact is i'm only 29 and after reading all these other post i now see it the mirena. i'm gonna have it taken out. I'll give you an update after i have it removed. i want me back and i'm sure my husband does too.

I had my Mirena removed 6-25-08. I only got it in March. I have had one problem after another. I had a weird bulge under my breasts that stuck out further than them when I decided it has to go. That bulge disappeared the day after having it removed. I also had MAJOR hair loss, fingers twitching, joint pain, migraines, my face looked greasy an hour after washing, and visual disturbances where I actually felt like I was seeing through drunk eyes, especially at work. This thing should be off the market. I feel 99.9% better than I did a week ago. Oh, I'm also not a turbo bitch to everyone anymore either. I am actually pleasant to be around. It was the best decision ever made to get this beast out of me. What a waste of money though!! Good luck to everyone else.

Following a deadly allergic reaction to Celebrex, I was given an injection of prednizone, and prescribed 60 mgs. of Prednizone per day for a week. By the third day, my anxiety and what they call "steroid psychosis" was so bad I thought I was going mad. I suffered horrible insomnia, crying attacks, paranoia, fear...you name it. On the fourth day, my knee swelled up horribly and walking was nearly impossible. I stopped taking Prednizone cold turkey on the fourth day (which you are NOT supposed to do, but my doctor didn't tell me that). It has been over 6 weeks since the episode and I am still suffering knee and joint pain, gained 26 pounds and have a red face and horrible acne. My knee has a horrific bulge still. I had an MRI on the knee, and they say that I have fluid buildup on the joint. I have no idea how long it will take to get this drug out of my system, but I would caution anyone to seriously reconsider taking it unless it is life threatening. I believe my allergic reaction could have been treated with just benadryl alone.

Avelox - someone needs to get a class action lawsuit going. I was put on this Friday (2/8/08) for pneumonia. The MD said it was a great very strong antibiotic and would kick in really quick. Within 4 hours I was having some problems with urine dribbling out - something I've NEVER had before. By the next day I was having to change pads every 30-60 minutes with gushes every time I coughed - and that made me go through multiple pants until I started to use my babies diapers. By the third day I couldn't leave home. My pneumonia was much worse, as if I hadn't taken any antibiotics for it at all. I stopped the Avelox and went back to urgent care - the doctor didn't even argue that my pneumonia was worse, one listen to my chest and he was quite concerned. He put me on Zithromax and I'm doing better as far as the pneumonia.

The bladder incontinence is still bad and hasn't let up even though I haven't taken any Avelox for 3 days. I called Bayer's branch that makes this stuff to file a complaint and the customer rep said "You must be unusual, there have been no complaints of bladder incontinence with Avelox before." She barely listened to me and told me to go back to my doctor to see if he could help - which he can't because he has no experience with this and would have to call the drug manufacturer anyway! She was totally unsympathetic and when I got upset would put me on hold for several minutes and then pick up again.

If you look at Avelox from a marketing standpoint, NO patient would take it if they ended up in diapers! I know I wouldn't - so they sell it hoping to sneak it by and make money. Only they have now damaged my body and I don't know if I'll ever be back to normal. I'm still suffering from sensitivity to light too - which they claim is a false side effect but has been really severe for me too. Can hardly drive during the daytime now when I've gone to the doctor as the light is sooo strong for my eyes.

When I told the doctor that the Avelox had made two of my joints painful to the point I could not lift my baby or kneel on one leg, he said not to worry. I hadn't been on it long enough for the tendon to rupture. WHAT??? That wasn't listed as a side effect either but obviously THAT has happened enough (and can be proven) that the drug company has told doctors about it.

Someone needs to hold these drug companies accountable for the damage they do...

actually any side effect is worth it to me. This has literally saved my life. I have had nunerous injuries, especially a bulge on a disc in my neck that dr.'s won't do anything about until it herniates. I literally couldn't do anything without pain, and even doing nothing my pain was excruciating. I was admitted into the hospital do to thinking about suicide. I was put on this 1200mg X 3 and trileptal and a sleep aide. It changed my life. I still have pain but it doesn't debilatate me as often.

Hi:
I received a kenolog steriodal epidural shot in my neck for a C6C7 hernaition with level 10 pain that could not be assuaged by any NSAID, or even oral streroids. The impingement of pain from the bulge onto my spinal cord was debilitaitng and casuing nerve damage. So, after two months of agony, I went for the cervical epidural. Ten dyas later, I have been menstruating non-stop for two weeks, even though I had just finished a period right before the shot. Good news, the shot worked for the pain, for now, the pain is gone. But I am bleeding constantly. So, a tough trade off.

In July 2002 I was prescribed Levaquin 500 for a 3 week period for a deep sinus infection to try to avoid surgery. After a few days I started having joint pain that continually got worse. The day after I took my last pill the day was so bad that I could hardly get up and down. The left leg and knee was worse. That night when I undressed to shower I noticed my left knee and entire leg were at least twice the size of the other one and there was a huge bulge in the back of my knee. I began trying to figure out if there was anything different I had done or taken and the only thing I could come up with is the Levaquin. I went online and found that one of the side effects was joint, ligament, tendon and muscle pain and that it could blow out the tendons in the joint. I have told three different doctors about this and they have all said they had not heard of this before. I am still having problems with my left leg especially. The bulge is still there and gets bigger if I have to be on my feet very long. I dont know what kind of doctor I need to see. Could someone please tell me the type of doctor I need to see...Thanks
