I just used Nasonex to help with allergies, and the INSTANT the spray went in my left nostril, I felt a twinge under my lip. I looked in the mirror and a white bump had appeared, and I could feel tenderness right through my lip to the inside of my mouth. it almost itches, and has started to swell. has anyone had this happen? How LONG does it LAST????

I also used it this morning (I lost the instructions, so I'm worried if my over use is the reason I'm feeling icky.), and it made me feel sick to my stomach and I had pms-like cramps for an hour.

I'm really worried, and though it almost immediately began to help my runny nose, I will NEVER use this product again. I mean, I pride myself on a keen sense of smell (I can smell the water a day before it rains, and I can tell exactly what the neighbor across the street is cooking lol).

I am 14 years old, and have had all three Gardasil shots. Now, this may not be much in comparison to what some of you are going through, and im very sorry for you. however, it seems that a very common side effect of Gardasil is a sore arm. I had my first two shots already, and i recently received my third. as the nurse was administering the shot, i heard the words "oops" escape her lips. Needless to say, this worried me. I was also getting another shot that day, so my sore arm on the day of did not worry me. However, in the days after the shot, slowly the bump from the *other* shot went down, as the one from the Gardasil remained. It is as sore as can possibly be, and has recently become quite itchy. I do not want these other side effects to occur, especially since i am going away to camp very soon. Should i be terribly worried?

I have had the mirena for almost 4 years and after reading all this posts, I'm removing it tomorrow. Did anyone feel nauseous and have a slight fever, breasts really sore and really tired? I have had it all anxiety, depression, palpation, low back pain, you name it.

Reading over some of these posts and wanted to share my experience w/Lamictal. Been on it over 2 year, 400mg/day. Sever bipolar with mixed & rapid cycling episodes. Oh YEA...I have side effects too: blurred vision that comes and goes, super klutziness, confusion, hard to complete sentences sometimes (just can't find the words sometimes for the simplest sentence!), dizziness, prone to broken blood vessels under the skin when bump into something or carry loaded grocery bag over my arm, jittery, short term memory loss, feeling really stupid like my brain isn't working sometimes. BUT...I will stay on this med because it rally works for me and the above effects are and bad, just frustrating. It took me a good 5-6 months for the meds to work as they should. Be aware that it won't make things perfect, mood swings and even moderate episodes can be expected. I am pretty much in a constant state of mild/moderate mania (2 hr sleep/night, hi energy, talk to fast, mind racing, etc), which is fine for me, as it really curbed the depression (maybe only 1 day every 2 months now and its NOT a BAD downer) I have found the drug is a good "stabilizer" keeping me mostly in a normal to moderate swing...never any severe swing. If the side effects are not unbearable, stick with the med, just be patient. It sure works for me. Learn to laugh at the klutziness and stupid moments and understand its the med and you. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

I am so glad I found this site, as well, by typing in Mirena causing acne. I workout regularly and at first, didn't have any noticeable weight gain. Really, I am still within my 10lb roller coaster but have also went from 135 to about 148 and it will not go down no matter what I do! And the acne! I too have been using proactiv to no avail when it worked fine before. I cry when I look in the mirror, the scarring and the huge pimples are embarrassing and hideous! They're not normal either, having like 2 heads per bump and I am now breaking out on my back, which I didn't ever do. I haven't had any other side effects, it's actually made me nicer than I was when I was on the pill for 10 years. I have enjoyed the periodlessness, but at what cost? My self esteem is plummeting and I am going to get it removed tomorrow. I first thought it was Hydroxycut side effects but it has been too long and it didn't take me longer than perhaps a year to realize this is the only thing I have changed in my lifestyle. On to the removal! And to any woman who's doctor will not remove it, YOU ARE PAYING THEM! They have no right to tell you that you must keep a voluntary form of contraception inserted! Change doctors for crying out loud! If your doctor is trying to run, or ruin, your life you have a choice!

Glad I decided to type "mirena and acne" in my search engine today. It brought me here. I got the mirena placed last May. Starting around September I started having horrible acne. Just like what other people are describing. Large, red cystic acne. Horrible. I hardly have a day where my face isn't broken out. I didn't have any problem with my skin, besides the occasional breakout, until these last months. Often they are leaving scars. What I am most upset about is the fact that it cost over $500 out of pocket to get it put in. I don't know if I really want to just toss that money out the window. I also suffer from cramps for at least half of the month. I'm not sure if this is better than having periods that last 1-2 weeks. That is the reason I got this placed, because of heavy bleeding. It seems like there is not a good choice. I'm not sure I can continue to look at myself in the mirror each day. I dread it. As soon as one bump starts to fade, two more pop up. Often they are so bad, even cover-up doesn't work. I don't know what to do.

I took flagyl twice in one day and that night my eyes became very itchy and irritated, when I woke up the next day both of my upper eyelids were completely swollen. It was like I had been crying for days, what a weird side effect! But I talked to a pharmacist and they said that is one of the possible effects so....? weird!

I recently increased my dosage from 25 mg to 50 mg and noticed my hair has been falling out. I just feel tired all the time. I thought I was going crazy until I read this site! I will talk to my doctor very soon. I did not think there would be problems with a "low" dose.

This is my 4th month on Nuvaring. Luckily, I work in a clinic and have a pretty good gyn as well. The symptoms normally pass after the 2nd month. I developed a rash on my face, headaches, nausea, and lost about 5-7 lbs because I wouldn't eat due to the nausea. The discharge stays. Each time I have sex something new happens. I swell up, I itch, I get a bump, something. The last sexual encounter resulting in a watery discharge that lasted for 2 days. My partner doesn't seem to notice this. I too have had the night sweats. I do like the convenience. I began the nuvaring because of very bad periods, cramps, bleeding for 10 days. Month 3- I had so many clots I thought I was having a miscarriage. I wasn't. At this point, unless something severe happens, and I don't have sex 2 often, I may remain on the nuvaring. Without it, I am out of work at least 3 days of my, READ, 10 day cycle. I should mention that I have the beginnings of PCOS, and it has helped to reduce the hair on my face. I may consider the birth control pills. I just read today that inserting them would alleviate a lot of side effects. However, I don't feel like inserting them each day. Within the last month, I have become fatigued. Vitamins help some. Everyone is an individual. I am still evaluating if it's for me. I can't blame all of this on the Nuvaring, but let's just say, I couldn't report any of these symptoms prior to it's use.

No hearing loss in family history. Doctor put my father on 80 mg Lipitor, 1-1/2 years latter he started having trouble hearing. I was taking 40 mg Lipitor after 2 years my left ear went bad, 9 months latter my right ear went bad the same exact way. The ears went bad with a tinny sound to all when the hearing came back the 3 kHz area was very low. I have just put this together the recently. This is not a coincidence, I am sure Lipitor caused this. I also think this caused me to go through Hell from hard bump break outs on my body, had me spend thousands hunting for a parasite that was not there. It was not a rash, small bumps with a hard center.

Ok I haven't had any crazy adverse effects as of yet but I thought I would post what I am going through with my reaction to Gardasil. I'm 22, received my first shot in Oct.2007 (in my Right arm) and completely forgot to go back for the rest of the series, honest! (I never wrote it down, and since it's kinda up to me to go back on my own, I forgot about it after a week or so.) Anyway, my first shot went pretty well. On the day of the injection, I had no pain after receiving the shot but the next day, I woke up feeling like I had slept on my arm all night. The feeling didn't go away after my morning routine of getting dressed and started to hurt pretty badly. The whole entire day it was difficult to lift my arm and flex the muscles while I was at work but I was told by a friend that she had the same exact reaction when she got her shot of Gardasil. I brushed it off and the next day I was pretty much back to normal! I didn't think twice about it until I went in for my annual this week and they asked if I had completed the series of Gardasil shots yet. (oops) I told them no, and they gave me the shot on Saturday (Nov/1/08) they said there was no reason why I shouldn't continue getting the series but I really HAVE to come back in 2 months (I wrote it down this time)
Anyway, I just figured I would have the same reaction as last time so I asked them to do it in my Left arm this time as I don't use it as much. All of Saturday went by with no real pain at all just like before. I woke up on Sunday expecting to feel like my arm had been run over or something but was pleasantly surprised that the injection site was the only area on my arm that was bothering me! It was a little raised/swollen and kind of itchy so I avoided irritating it as much as possible. Well it's 2:27am on Tuesday and I'm still having these symptoms. In fact, it itches more, is still raised and I feel another small bump very close to the injection site and under the skin. I have to admit that while these symptoms don't appear to be serious, I am a little nervous about how long they have lasted. Reading these posts about such serious adverse reactions to this Vaccine isn't helping much either! I don't know if I want to finish the series now! It seems like a lot of people have had different reactions during a different phase in the vaccine, making it unpredictable. Meanwhile, my friend completed all 3 injections earlier this year with little to no side effects at all! I want to know if this is normal because the only place I've found "itchiness" as a side effect on the Gardasil page is under allergic reactions and accompanied by hives, rash, difficulty breathing, etc. and I have had none of these. I want to ask my doctor about it but when I told her about the pain in my arm last year she said it was normal, so why would she say anything different about itching?

I am on the third pack of Femcon, switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen because my periods were too long. I can't say I have any major side effects, no depression, no wackiness etc., One that I do have is breast tenderness, my boobs blew up like balloons and I do have major skin/chin problems that no dermatologist can help me with for the last few weeks. I couldn't figure it out what it was from but I think it might be from the pill. Never had any skin problems, acne and all of the sudden my chin breaks out badly, not pimples more like under the skin red bumps. Anyone with the similar problem???? HELP.

Hi everyone! I am a 20yr old female who went to the ER with a seriously infected bug bite that had a red streak leaving the bite. The ER doctor told me it was a staph infection and I was very lucky to have come in when I did. He gave me Bactrim for 10days, twice a day. First things first BACTRIM DID heal my staph infection beautifully! BUT On day 8 around my P.M. pill I realized that my thighs were COVERED in a red rash that didn't itch and did not have any kind of bump to it.. In panic because of what I had just gone through with having a staph infection I ran to my mother who looked online and we found this site.. I agree with ALL of you who say this drug should be taken off the market and also before I take any drug ever again I will be looking at this site and to people like you who apparently care more than the doctors do. On day 8 I NOT ONLY had the rash (which by day 9.. today has spread everywhere but my face and hands pretty much, developed some bump and itch) I have the worst stiff neck and swollen glands!!! Behind my eyes KILLS to look in any direction or strong light.. I am always tired and have weak arms and legs... Tomorrow is my last day on the pill and Wed I will be seeing my regular doc for a routine check up... Note as well that yes I have been able to sleep but since the very first night on Bactrim I have been having very weird and very realistic dreams!.. I'm sorry if this is scattered in thought but I just want to put out there what I have as well to help just like most of you helped me.. and saved me from a complete panic attack.. also watch for signs of depression.. I used to take pills for depression and scary enough my mother since I have been on Bactrim has been saying shes seeing signs of my depression returning.... DRINK TONS OF WATER & SLEEP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN... If you are on the last few days of the medicine stick it out and bitch like hell to your doctors.. maybe if enough of us to we can get this crazp off the market

Other what seems to be common side effects: Along with the rash, swollen glands, stiff neck (mostly on the right side), fever, chills, always tired and weak, EXTENDED period.. sorry ladies!, funny stomach feeling where it doesn't hurt but it does not feel good, starving or nauseated by the idea of food, gass (gross), and the funny dreams. This stuff is HORRIBLE and I cannot wait for day 10 to be over and done with so I can get back to normal.. Good luck to everyone else!... Also I have to pee a ton!!!

I'm very very VERY sorry to all of those who lost loved ones because of a medicine.. that should never happen and I truly am so sorry.

The nausea is tolerable, generally short-lived as long as I eat prior to taking the Chantix and drink plenty of water.

I have a sense of...fogginess....detachment, while at the same time, seem to sense clear hidden messages in the way people look at me, in what they're saying to each other, and to me. Yep, it's probably paranoia.

The nightmares are horrible. I dream specifics about deaths of loved ones, in horrible detail. I also awaken at least once a night gasping in terror, unable to get a breath.

The thoughts of suicide are strangely comforting and don't seem wrong at all. I'm depressed, but comforted knowing that I can end it if I really want to. Bizarre and I know it on some level at least.

I'm bruising easily this time. I mean REALLY easily. A small bump results in a hard, raised, dark bruise.

I developed a rash on my stomach that's been there for 3 days but seems to be clearing today.

This is my 2nd time taking Chantix and I'm 3 weeks in. I had the same symptoms last time and expected them this time. I'm smoke free but plan to continue with the Chantix as long as possible. The urge to give in and have one cigarette is too strong post Chantix. I tell myself everyday that the thoughts are NOT me, and that I can let them come and not act on them because it's the drug, not me.

My 4 year old daughter was on omnicef for two days for an ear infection. She is now covered from head to toe in a nasty red rash. The rash on her cheeks looks as though the bumps have all meshed into one huge red bump. Her entire cheeks are bright red. The dr said it was an allergic reaction to the meds and changed her to Septra. I don't want to start her new meds until the rash is gone but it isn't showing signs of improvement as of day 3. I am wondering if anyone could tell me how long the rash lasts? Should I start her new meds for the ear infection anyway? And she is sooooo moody. Her meltdowns are on a nuclear level which is out of character.

My finance was prescribed Levaquin for a food borne bacterial infection. On day 4 of the antibiotic, he broke out into a horrible body rash. It is all everywhere from scalp to toes. It started as a small rash under the arms and by the next day it was a small bump-like rash all over. Then it got splotchy...red and white... we went to the ER and they gave him the usual steroid and anxiety control drugs to help but he now looks as if he has a sun burn and is developing bruse-like purple patches all over his legs and groin. He is almost convulsing due to the pain. Has anyone had this reaction?

Stay away from Prednisone

My prayers to all of you who take these destructive "medications". here's my short story.

I had been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis back in 2003. My doctor gave me 60MG per day (three 20 MG tabs) for over six months, with the weening off period lasting another six. To make a long story shorter. I went through many of the same problems like, bloating in the face and body, rashes, a bump that looks like a wart--that still won't go away, and a continuing state of memory loss. I get baffled easy now. I also continue to go through mood swings.

But here's the kicker, I haven't taken Prednisone for over 3 years and I was trying to begin lifting weights. I thought I popped something in my arm, but the doctor says that I have "aseptic necrosis", that has developed in my left shoulder and soon to start in both sides of my hips. For those who don't want to "google" the term, basically parts of my shoulder and hip bones are not getting blood flow and are dying (necrosis).

With my memory loss, I am having difficulties performing at work and doing routine tasks at home. I did not think this "medication" would have affected me this much.

Prednisone needs to be on the banned list of medicines.

I have asthmatic bronchitis. In June 2006 I came down with an infection in my lungs, which also set off my asthma. Between the two I was hospitalized and put on 240 mg of intravenous Prednisone and the antibiotic Levaquin. I was cured of the infection and was able breathe normally again but it took a great toll on my body It took me 3 months to taper off of the Prednisone and almost a whole year to feel myself. I was a strong, physically active person before this happened to me and I have not gotten my energy level and endurance back to what I was before I was sick. When I was released from the hospital I went from 160 mg of intravenous Prednisone to 80 mg of pill Prednisone. That step down was too severe and I went through intense joint and muscle pain in my body that it woke me from a sound sleep in the middle of the night. I luckily had an old Vicodin that I took which only made the pain bearable. I should have upped the Prednisone to make it go away but I wanted off. This pain lasted one week with each day getting less. The side effects I experienced from then on were so plentiful that I almost can't remember them all. The physical problems were, thin skin that bruised or ripped and bled profusely with the slightest bump, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, muscle cramps in my legs and hands, sleeplessness, dry mouth and frequent urination. My stomach bloated and got stretch marks. I didn't have any before that. The muscles in my thighs and upper arms atrophied so bad that I could not walk up stairs w/o using my arms to help. My arms were also very weak and I got hemorrhoids; another muscle that was affected. I had a bad case of the drops. I couldn't hold on to anything and broke many glasses. I got moon face that took a couple of weeks to go away after I was off the Prednisone. Because I was on such high doses, my hair died and stopped growing. About 40% of it fell out in one month. It took 6 months to grow back and it all grew back curly. On January 30, 2008 my bronchial tubes closed again due to a sinus infection. Again I was hospitalized with 240 mg of intravenous Prednisone and Levaquin. This time I responded much better, because I jumped on the infection/asthma instead of waiting. I stepped down from 240 to 180 to 90 to 60 and decrease 5 mg a day until I was off. This time I did no lose my hair land did not get hemorrhoids. The other physical effects were pretty much the same but much less severe. However, this time the emotional effects of Prednisone were much worse than last time. I was not a nice person. I was short tempered and argumentative and even had to stop myself from resorting to violence a couple of times. That is definitely not who I am. Prednisone stops your adrenal glands from working and adrenaline is you chemical way of coping with stress. I have been off of the Prednisone for one week and still find it hard to cope with the slightest controversy. My brain is still in a fog and I get confused easily. I cannot handle too many questions at once and forget things. My face is still round. Both times, I have found it the hardest dealing with the Prednisone at the very end and even after I finished taking it. I think it builds up and even though the chemical is suppose to be out of your body in 24 hours, it's effects stay a lot longer. I thought I knew what to expect but the second time was different again. It is a horrible drug but my trade off was breathing. Sometimes I think, that if I have to go through this a few more times, the side effects will kill me before the asthma. I wish all you Prednisone users loads of luck and stay positive.

I'm African American and received an injection for a minor infected hair bump which had hardened and swollen. 4 months later I have no pigment in the area. The Dr. did not warn me until after the injection was given. I am not happy about a big white spot on my brown skin. Does anyone know if I have a legal case with this matter? I see no signs of pigment or hair in the area.

I started experiencing itching on several parts of my boy an last night, realized I had hives on my waist at my back, near my underarms and have serious itching all over the rest of my body including the palms of my hands. Please, please, please if anyone reads this an has had similar side effects, please let me know. Furthermore, I did not take the pill last night as I knew this could be the only thing causing these issues. Does anyone know the reprecution of stopping the pill mid month? Please let me know and thanks for your help!

My 12-year old son has been high dose prednisone for his asthma flare ups. I know that the "moon face" is common. However, since using this prednisone, he has bad acne breakouts on his forehead, cheeks, chin and even in his head. He also has broken out in a rash on his neck. Common or uncommon? There seems to be nothing to help with the acne, either.

I've had symptoms for about two months now without knowing they were coming from taking doxy. First, I couldn't sleep at night b/c my feet felt like they were on fire! and my hands had the same tingly feeling esp. after a change in temperature. Then my toes became red and swolen around the nail. After about a month, the feelings never really went away but always got worse when I was in the sun. A rash began to develop on the tops of my toes. Each bump looked like a tiny water blister. After more sunlight, the rash spread to my hands and arms. More fire. I also got the terrible feeling in my thumbs and index fingers that felt like I banged them with a hammer. Now that the rash is going away (still bad on my toes), my fingernails are terribly brittle, discolored, and are coming off the nail bed on a few fingers. I've also gotten a fever blister and terrible sunburn on my nose, ugh. I was presecribed this medicine for acne, but that seems as though it hasn't even been treated. I've also noticed blurred vision and back pain, but I think that is just b/c I hate my job. LOL.
