I was prescribed Doxycycline for chronic prostatitis. I took 100mg. twice per day for 3 months. The doctor told me that he puts men on antibiotics (Bactrim and Ciprofloxacin) for 6 months and longer. I had been on both of those drugs in the past and had depression after taking ciprofloxacin for thirty days. I have not had depression from the doxycyline "yet" but did experience insomnia and minor dizziness off and on for a month before the serious effects hit me. During the course of treatment several times I felt unusual tiredness for a day or two but it would go away and I would feel strong again. One week before I stopped taking the doxycycline the bad effects started. Lower back ache, humming in the head, loud ringing in the ears, mild mental confusion, forgetful, headache, dizziness, lack of appetite, nausea, minor tingling in the upper lip feet and hands, sore anus, minor pain in the throat, unusual tiredness, scratchy eyes (like sand in them), redness of skin, pale hands and feet, joint and muscle pain, tight muscles in legs, bloating, abdominal pain, and blurred vision. I have been off the doxycycline for four days and still have many of the symptoms. I read at ****** that doxycycline depletes the body of B vitamins. The week I stopped taking a multivitamin / mineral pill the symptoms started. I was very cautious about taking the vit. pill four hours after taking the doxycycline throughout the course. I plan to get a blood test to confirm the B vitamin content. I took a vit. pill today and it has helped reduce the insomnia and color of the feet and hands. My question to you all is how long dose it take the body to repair the damage? Thank you for all your posts they give hope of recovery.

Only on it for 1 month so far and already having issues. I apparently have the worst case of endometriosis all my doctors have seen, including a cancer specialist that had to do all my surgeries because of the severity. Granted, I am only 31 years old and have had a full hysterectomy. So, after 3 surgeries I am still having severe abdominal pain and bleeding (don't know where that is coming from since I don't have a uterus anymore) so they said try Lupron and I finally gave in. Now I started getting such severe pain in my lower back that I can't stand for longer than 15 minutes and terrible side aches. I started getting headaches (which I already take pills for for years now),and have gotten the hot flashes as well. What are we to do ladies? I am so sick of complaining to the doctors about pain. You feel as if you are a big cry baby. What are my options here and does this ever stop?

I just started taking Lyrica 75 mg. last night and 1 this morning for "idiopathic burning feet syndrome". I've have rheumatoid arthritis for 35 years and essential tremor for 27 years. This drug reduces the tremor and I now have a wonderful buzz. I'm wondering how and why is this drug giving me a buzz. I feel as if I've had a "shooter". Carolyn J.

5 years ago started Lisinopril; woke up with burning feet sensation; spasticity began; legs progressively became stiffer; hyper reflexes; loss of balance; falling; arms are spastic--stopped taking it 3 months ago--not getting worst but symptoms are the same.

I've had symptoms for about two months now without knowing they were coming from taking doxy. First, I couldn't sleep at night b/c my feet felt like they were on fire! and my hands had the same tingly feeling esp. after a change in temperature. Then my toes became red and swolen around the nail. After about a month, the feelings never really went away but always got worse when I was in the sun. A rash began to develop on the tops of my toes. Each bump looked like a tiny water blister. After more sunlight, the rash spread to my hands and arms. More fire. I also got the terrible feeling in my thumbs and index fingers that felt like I banged them with a hammer. Now that the rash is going away (still bad on my toes), my fingernails are terribly brittle, discolored, and are coming off the nail bed on a few fingers. I've also gotten a fever blister and terrible sunburn on my nose, ugh. I was presecribed this medicine for acne, but that seems as though it hasn't even been treated. I've also noticed blurred vision and back pain, but I think that is just b/c I hate my job. LOL.

i've been on synthroid for 9 years. started at some low dose and gradually went up to112 mg. get extreme itching all day everyday if i don't take allegra for that.not a rash just itching. that doesn't bother me as much as the fatique. every joint in my body aches all the time. sure there are better days but fo rthe most part it's bad. tried physical therapy and chiripratic care but no avail. they ended my sessions. my legs get sooo weak and my feet burn lower back really aches. sometimes muscle cramps. i'm very negative towards my loving family and it hurts me to do so. can't seem to keep upbeat. soo tired all the time.
is it the syntroid? i used to be very energenic and a doer. now i have spurts of activity in the morning , but then i just can't get motivated. help me any suggestions?
