Lisinopril works! I have been taking 5mg three times a day for years. No side effects. The Dr. told me to take 15mg once a day. Is this a time released tablet? I am 77 years old and a diabetic. I test my blood sugar 6X a day. This way I can control what I eat. Sugar problem was diagnosed 5 years ago with levels running from 40-385. I was depressed & worried about my health. This drug resolved the problem. My best advice is talk to your Dr. and your pharmacist. Friends, family & neighbors mean well. Consider the source!

I Started taking Lisinopril a week ago. I been a zombie every since. I just found out it is Brazilian snake venom. The first time I taken it my bottom lip swelled. I was given benadryl. I cannot hardly function. I have nausea, i been vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness and right now. I feel like I have something in my throat. Feel like my tongue is swollen in the back. I feel like i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Because If I quit taking it. My pressure will rise. So, what's a girl to do?

I was prescribed this medication for 7 days, one tablet twice a day. After just taking two of these tablets (one @ 0830 and one @ 2030) I broke out with hives/rash, burning (like fire) itch, around my pelvic area and thighs, dry mouth, unable to sleep, and a constant urge to urinate. I have not been in the sun, and have drank plenty of water with this medication as advised. These symptoms have only appeared since taking this medication, therefore I have stopped taking this awful drug. Dr's. office is closed today, but will be in to see her tomorrow. I will never take this drug again, it is truly horrible.

Are there any ideas out there regarding diet(s)?
I've heard to stay away from sugars (I am assuming complex sugars), meats (because the animals are most often injected with hormones and antibodies) - eating ONLY poultry that has not been shot up with hormones and antibodies, and to stay away from gluten and soy (no soy - why IS that again?).
As I understand it, those foods can trigger side effects months and years from now, and also can increase current side effects.
First of all, is the above true?
Secondly, why?
Third, what do you suggest are good dietary choices?
Fourth, what herbs and/or vitamins/supplements do you suggest? Ive heard magnesium and calcium are good, as well as cod liver oil.
Specific to my side effects, I am still having a heck of a time with muscle aches and burning - like fire - especially in the knees, ankles, leg muscles, lower and middle back, elbows and wrists. These pains float around at will, sometimes here, sometimes there. But they're always somewhere. Anxiety finally toned down for the most part, but still having insomnia (Thank God for Ativan and Remeron!)
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
