I've been searching for answers on LONG TERM side effects of Lupron hoping that it could give me answers as to what's going on in my body now!
23 yrs ago my fertility dr. gave me Lupron to inject MYSELF EVERY DAY (experimental back then). I had SEVERE endo since the age of 16 and was fighting that as well as trying to get pregnant thru invetro. I was 26. At 29 I had an emergency hysto. Now at 48plus I have chronic tendonitis where the tendons will shred off of the joints. I have been diagnosed with C spine and T spine disease, osteoarthritis and a mystery that I'm going to have to go to the Mayo to figure out (hopefully). I have tumors that are growing in my lower back...growing around nerves, tendons and bone, They aren't sure why they are there, why they are growing, or even what they are. Surgery removed 2 of them...but pathology shows foreign matter other than tissue/bone. All they DO know is that it is not cancer. One year ago I started losing weight (25 pds) for no reason. I'm now holding my own at 112 and hoping to figure all of this out. I can't help but wonder if Lupron or any other experimental drugs I was on has something to do with this. Is there anyone out there that used this drug so long ago??

I am a 30 year old nurse and know first hand how birth control pills are individual. I was on many before Yasmin. 6 months ago I started Yasmin because it was the new hype in birth control medicine since it reduces length of period, flow of period, and reduces acne.
I don't think the ingredient drospirenone that's included in Yasmin (a potassium sparing drug, and diuretic, another form of the same type is Spironolactone) works for me.
Ever since I had experienced these symptoms:
Anxiety-heart palpitations, suspiciousness, racing thoughts.
Headaches-tension, leading to muscle spasms in neck and shoulders.
Dizziness-Vertigo type spinning sensations
Ear fullness-popping and cracking without losing hearing.
Fatigue-no motivation, especially for an early riser and a person who works 12 hr shifts.
Chest tightness, lump in throat feeling, could be due to increase in stomach acid (HCl).
If anyone else has vertigo, or dizziness, I would love to know!
Thanks,
Good luck with trying a different form of birth control.

I'm on my first month of Topamax and going to work for the first time in two weeks! Someone mentioned feeling like a box of rocks on this stuff, its true, but in my case the dosage increase might have been too abrupt. I take it for epilepsy, 100 mg. I was completely non-functional during the transition! Not only was I so tired I couldn't move, so sick I couldn't eat (I've lost a lot of weight), but I was constantly dizzy. I would often get icy to touch and pass out, mores after eating.

Cognitively, I was severely depressed, and had a constant "noise" sensation in my head which I started yelling at during odd moments. I believe I even hallucinated at one point that the room was expanding. Mostly, people thought I was stoned because I would just stare at the wall and have difficulty talking to them without slurring my words.

It's been a truly terrifying couple weeks, however I've settled pretty quickly out of the major side effects. I think thats pretty much what happens for everyone. I'm happy to have my brain back.

Hi I was on Reglan for over six years for IBS and nausea. My GI never mentioned any side effects from use of the medicine.I have a c-spine injury that has caused some neuropathy. I never thought that symptoms that I have like extreme restlessness, shaking of my hands, feet and toes, sucking my tongue,my mouth puckers,my lips shake,my jaws tighten up,I now have a facial tic.I never even considered that taking the Reglan for so long could have caused these side effects until I was recently taken off of the medicine by my GI.He said that long term use could cause undesirable side effects like a facial tic.(Now he mentions side effects after over six years!) I then came home and looked it up on my computer and found all of these sights! I really need to get to a Neurologist one that specializes in movement disorders. If I had known of all of the side effects before taking the Reglan I could have prevented my Tardive Dyskinesia today!! My advice is always check the side effects of any medication before taking it.If only I would have I could have prevented so much long term damage! Pharmacy Companies should have better guidelines for testing their drugs before being allowed to have the drug on the market. We must send a clear message that as the public we demand better practices from our FDA.
