Hi there!
I have to say, I am so happy that I have found this website. I feel like I'm crazy!! I have been taking Yasmin for a little over a year or so and within the past two month I have noticed significant stress, anxiety, depression (which I have NEVER experienced in my life). Although, over the past year I have noticed I have been tired, overall low energy, and snappy for no reason. Really high strung. I never knew why.
I do have to ask though, those of you who have stopped taking, or switched from Yasmin...have you noticed a shift in mood for the better? Have you noticed a difference in depression? I am planning to make an appointment for my OB/GYN tomorrow to get off this pill. I just want some hope that things will indeed get better, you know??

My daughter had a bladder infection. yesterday in the ER she was prescibed levaquin. She took one pill and could not sleep. She felt very strange and confused. Her heart rate increased dramaticly. She is 24 yrs. old and 2000 miles away from home. by morning we decided to call the doctor and see if these could be side effects. She was told to take one more and see what happens. I found this website a few minutes later. After reading about 15 stories, I called my daughter and made her vomit that medication out of her. Unfortunately, her bladder infection is now a kidney infection and she needs treatment, but it will not be levaquin. Thank you all so much. I would just love to give a few words to this drug company.

I am very concerned with the bowel movements my 12 month old son has had. It even smells like blood. He has had four already. He has no appetite for table food and is barely drinking the bottle. He has been fussy and has not been playing the way he normally does. I called the nurse line and they said I definately need to call his doctor in the morning and take in the diaper to have it tested for blood. She said not to wake him up or take him to the er, though. I should have called yesterday, but I didn't know if it was a normal side effect or something to do with the iron supplement he just started. This is his 7th day on the meds. Now that I think back, he hasn't eaten well since the 4th day of antibiotic. I will call the doctor in the morning, especially since the comments on this site are mixed.

My doctor started me on Mevacor a few months ago at 40 mg - I could hardly stand up to walk - my back was killing me! Then she put meon 5 mg of Zocor - okay for the first few weeks, and my cholestorol went down so she told me to double it to 10 mg - then the leg cramps started. I stopped taking if for a few weeks and restarted at 5 mgs (again) last week - now my legs are aching and my ankles are swollen big time. Also noticing fatique and some blues/depression. I told my doctor today that I am not taking it anymore! Not asking her, TELLING her.

I am a 34-year old women who started 50 mg of Toprol-XL 4 days ago for a rash of panic attacks I experienced earlier this week, after having high blood pressure and occasional panic attacks in the last 3 months. Since then, I've had migranes for the past 2 days, bad allergies, stomach pain, loose bowel movements, slight difficulty breathing, frequent urination, and tiredness/lethargy during the day with trouble sleeping at night. I was already feeling strange my 2nd day on it and called my internal medicine doctor, who, of course, told me to stick with it. At this point, I'm ready for safer, natural alternatives. I'm will call the doctor tomorrow to tell him that my mind is made up and ask for instructions on how to wean off of it safely.

My son is 15 years old and on July 25, 2007 his doctor gave him Lisinopril for his high blood pressure. He had the cough for about three days and it went away. No other problems until 8/10/07 when the temperature came up. I called a health line nurse and the pharmacy to see if this could be a side effect of the med because he had no other symptoms and was told probably not. Later that evening it went to 103 and I called back and talked to someone different and she said it could be. I was wondering if there were other parents out there that their children have been put on his med. I am very worried about him taking this and I am going to take him off of it and call the Doctor tomorrow to get a different med to lower the blood pressure.

I've always had problems with leg cramps but now, since I've started taking Advair, every muscle in my body cramps -- BADLY. So I'm done, I'm going to call the doctor Monday a.m. & tell him I've stopped the medication. I just thought it was a fluke and I was having a bad time (have done that), but since getting on here and seeing that other people have had this problem, I'm sure it's the Advair. Occassionally I've forgotten a dose & the cramps have gotten better. So now I'm putting 2/2 together. As much as Advair has helped my cough, it's put me in so much pain I can't get one hrs. sleep before I have to jump out of bed and try walking a cramp out, during the day my back, arms, hands, chest, stomach muscles are all cramping painfully while I'm trying to work.

Thank god I'm normal! I plan to call the doctor TOMORROW to come off of this medication.
I'm breastfeeding my son, so it's difficult to find a "safe" pill to use. I tried the mini-pill with lots of side effects. Have been on Yaz for 10 days, and as I read through all of the posts I realize I've had side effects I didn't even know were side effects!
The most troubling has been the anxiety. To have a panic attack while nursing an infant in the middle of the night is not a good thing. Especially the loss of control knowing that if I pull him off for my own comfort, he will probably become frantic. My anxiety level during the day has been ok, but I've been on Prozac for depression all along, which may be keeping me somewhat even.
Other side effects: insomnia (last 3 nights I've been up till 3 in the morning), extreme muscle aches, nausea in the morning (feels like morning sickness, but def. not preg!), dry, itchy skin, lack of libido and aversive to touch, even in a non-sexual way.
Oh, well...time to try another. Hopefully my OB/Gyn will not give me a hard time.

I was prescribed omnicef for a double ear infection. I am 29. On the 4th day I started w/ horrible stomache cramps and diahreah. I thought maybe it was just a virus, but now it is the 5th day and I still have this. After reading these postings I am going to stop the omnicef and call the doctor. My ear infection has not cleared up either!!

Bad metalic taste
headaches
depression
upset stomach with cramps and diarrhea
breakouts (pimples/acne)
I've been on it for 5 months for an infectious disease caught while boating. I'm unable to stop taking the medication because the infection will spread on my legs. I'll never take this medicine again. I've asked to put on something else but the ID doctor refuses.

I am so happy I found this site. I've been on the medication for about three weeks now. Last weekend I thought I was having a heart attack in the middle of the night and was scared to death. But I think alot of it was due to acid reflux. And I have the nagging cough as well. I'm on the phone all day at work and can barely get through a call without putting my customer on hold and having a drink of water. I've been having leg cramps as well. I'm going to call the doctor on Monday!

Been going to doctors for extreme muscle weakness and pain, but no diagnosis was made. Some days I can barely function. Two weeks ago I was so weak I could not get out of bed (very abnormal for me) and when I tried to call the doctor, I began to vomit violently and they called an ambulance to rush me to the hospital. Tests there did not show anything significant, so I was sent home with antibiotics for a "slight bladder infection". I hurt worse than with the worst kind of flu, but no sign of fever. Off and on during the past weeks the pain gets so bad I can barely function. I decided to investigate side affects to various meds I am taking and have now found all these warnings for Lipitor, which I have been taking for about a year. The blood tests were all fine, but I suppose those are to determine kidney damage. Can I stop taking this immediately?!?? I cannot bear these symptoms another day......

to those who take hbp meds, i hope you don't forget to have follow-up visits with your physician to check your liver function, etc. if you have muscle pain or achy joints, back pain, i would call the doctor immediately to get a blood test. i was on benicar (olmesartan)...it's a wonderful drug that really controlled my bp and have no horrible side effects...just some muscle aches which tend to go away once i get moving throughout the day. but after two months, during my follow-up, i mentioned this to the doctor. she had my liver function checked and found out the benicar was doing muscle damage, hence the aches/muscle pain. my creatinine level was too high!
anyway, i would just like to remind y'all not to disregard those nagging symptoms...especially the ones that cause pain and discomfort. if it's been present for two wks. or more, gotta let the doc know. if i ignored mine, i'd probably have major damage or complication of some sort.

I've been taking prednisone for asthma for four days. The blurred vision is EXTREMELY significant when the page is saying call the doctor. I'm always thirsty, I cannot urinate, and I am sooo restless. I cannot sleep more than three or four hours a stretch.
I was on 60 mg for the first three days and now I'm on 40 mg a day. Tomorrow I start 20 mg a day. Should I just discontinue now while I still have okay vision? Or will my eyesite come back to normal after the script is through?
Someone please let me know. This is all new to me.

I am 63 years old, going through radiation for breast cancer. My doctor recommended a bone density test and the results were that I was starting to loss bone density. After reading the negative effects of this medication, I will not take it. Also, I had a heart attack five years ago and the side effect of this medication is chest pain. I think the doctors have no clue to the effects of this medication. I was also reading the literature on the mild side effects of this medication, to me this would cause you the discomfort and you are told not to call the doctor for this. It isn't the doctor who is going through this mild side effect. Another thing are these side effect permanent or temporary? Thank you for letting me voice my opinion.

After reading these horrific side effects, I am not alone. I have only began taking topamax 25 mgs once a day and then I am suppose to increase it to 200 mgs. in a month which I am not sure I am ready to do that. I take it for migranes, I have had tingling in my feet and numbness in my hands, sleeplessness and loss of appetite. But I feel that I am getting better even though I am suppose to increase he dose next week, I am not so sure what I am going to do yet. Any siggestions?? I am going to call the doctor but then again it is not really his call , it is mine, do I want to live with the headaches? or can i stand the side effects until my body gets use to the medication?

I desperately need to call the doctor to switch the BCP or stop this kind of thing....

My husband is in the advanced stages of Alzheimers. He has a cough and the doctor prescribed liquid guaifen. After giving it to him, every six hours for a day, he is confused more than usual, cannot stand up, mumbles and moans incessantly. I'm going to stop giving this to him and call the doctor in the morning. I hope this is what's keeping him from standing. Otherwise, we're in a heap of trouble! I'll let you know.

I was prescribed Doxycycline for a lyme rash and have been on it for 10 days. Nausea the first 2 days if I took it on an empty stomach in the morning, better if I eat breakfast first and then wait an hour. Started getting the pins and needles sensation in both my hands and fingers especially when placed under cold water to wash them on about day 4. I plan to call the doctor to see if I can switch to Amoxicillin.

my doctor put me on levaquin for a sinus infection. i took the medicationthe past two days and had the most excruciating stomach pains, uncontrollable diarrhea and loss of appetite. I was miserable. I will call the doctor today and see what else I can have but I will never go through this antibiotic again. It was horrendous. I would rarther live with the sinus infection.

i got my first shot three days ago pretty much without my permission. my ignorant doctor wouldn't listen that i most likely won't be able to get the second shot in the allotted amount of time (2 months) but she insisted that i get the first one anyway. well, three days later and there is blood in my urine. i have every symptom of a urinary tract infection other than the fever, but who knows? that could be next. now my mom is pissed off at me for making her call the doctor when i was just there a few days ago but there is absolutely no reason i should be having blood in my urine or a possible urinary tract infection. i have done nothing out of my ordinary lifestyle everyday since the shot and i have read countless other problems with the Gardasil vaccine lately. i refuse to get the next shot and i will hopefully be going to the doctor today to get some antibiotics.....and if that doesn't clear it up, i'm not sure what to do...... :(
