I started taking some form of lisinopril (5-10 mg) ten years ago when I needed to lose 20-30 pounds, and had a mild BP problem. Now I need to lose 50-80 pounds, even though I no longer eat boxes of cookies, candy bars, packaged foods, salty snacks, crackers. No soft drinks (no diet either). Gave up butter, eggs, cheese last October. I also stopped baking cookies and cakes. I haven't lost 20 pounds yet. I too think my doctor is a quack and in cahoots with the drug pushers. They try to make you think every pain and discomfort is your weight and from what I'm reading, it's that %#@& snake poison. I forgot to mention the itchy eyes and the cough. I thought I was allergic to my house. I wake up reaching for the Visine. My doctor subscribed a tiny bottle of eye drops that cost $100. Yes, that's what I said. Once, about 5 or 6 years ago, I woke up and my head was the size of a prize winning pumpkin. Never did figure out what caused it, until now. Thanks for letting me vent. :-)

I' m a 49 year old female. I took this nasty drug for just two days to try to control chronic pain of fibromyalgia. The first day I was ok. The second day I was on my way to work when I felt a severe attack of diarrhea. I didn't make it to work. I pulled into a parking lot and before I could get to a bathroom I lost complete control of my sphincter muscle and messed all over myself. In the meantime I was projectile vomiting. My heart was racing and I felt like I was going to die. The only thing that kept me from calling 911 on my cell phone was the embarrassment of having soiled myself! It was one of the most frightening and horrible experiences of my life!

I'm seventeen years old and I've only been taking Yasmin for one week, but I've already had a huge appetite change. I've been getting huge cravings for specific foods (today I wanted Nachos from Taco Bell), and if I even think of eating a different food I nearly throw up. I started crying today thinking that I wouldn't be able to get the Nachos. I have never been emotional on my period before, nor had cravings like this. Every time that I've craved the certain fast food, I've gone out to buy it, and I feel grossly full and bloated for one hour. After an hour, I have a burning, starving feeling and want a different food. I use to enjoy eating candy bars when I'm on my period, but I'm now disgusted by the thought of sugar. What's wrong?!

I have had Mirena for 18 months now. I love it. I have had no side effects that you all are describing. I have 4 friends that switched and all love it and only one had to have a follow up to have the strings shortened.
As far as the weight gain, ladies, let’s be honest. We are not 18 anymore and as we get older it is only going to become more difficult to keep weight off. Blaming it on a B/C....lets think about that last chocolate bar we ate because we were busy carting the kids off to a sports practice HMMM....
With any drug comes side effects, headaches, nausea, and some other terribly worse, but lets again be honest, all of these were pointed out in the literature available.
I just thought I would take the time to write my support as this does work and work well for some women, just not all, same as any other form of B/C.
