ive noticed that 90 percent of whats going on with all these problems is more a problem of using the drug wrong. as i understand its for short term use...not years and months in a row..also..when a person has taken ambien that person should get in the bed and prepare to go to sleep..not go driving or perform any other tasks..a lot of people will take ambien and then try to cook, eat, drive etc...thats when they run into problems and don't remember it..90 percent of these problems can be cleared up if it is taken with the recommended dosage,,not with alcohol..not double the dosage..etc..another words ..don't over do it and then head for the car keys. ive used ambien maybe a couple times in a week..and had no problems.

Hello All;

I have had the birth control from hell since 2005 and have had all of the side effects you girls have listed. I am having mine out this Wed. SURGICALLY! I have had two transvag. echos and the bloody (excuse the term) thing is in place, however three Dr.'s could not find the strings and after much rooting around my new wonderful OG/GYN has scheduled me for surgery to get out the"retained IUD". On the positive side, we did find my lost car keys! Ha! It may have been mentioned in one of the postings, but has any of you had this procedure? AND just recently I got ahold of the Physicians Prescribing Information so now I feel dumb. Has anyone noticed 1) Under Drug-Drug Interactions...the effect has not been tested 2)Carcinogenisis...Long term studies....has not been tested...O.K. I get the feeling as someone mentioned...we are the long term study!....If anyone has had to waddle to the hospital (sorry, I have a few fleeting moments of humor) to have this procedure (gotta love the medical term, right up there with discomfort) can ya let me know what happened?

Sadly, I too have had a series of horrific experiences while "on" Ambien... though, at the time, I had no idea what I was doing and only found out after the fact that I had made a total fool of myself. I shut down a pool party at a neighbor's house one evening after apparently calling to complain about the noise they were making. Two hours prior, I was attending the same party. I went home, took an Ambien, crawled into bed, and was apparently up and around and making crazy phone calls with absolutely no recall of the events. Before I stopped taking it completely, my husband would just take the phones and the car keys away from me as soon as I took the medication and then had to put up with my insanity until I would just pass out. I have suffered major depression, confusion, poor impulse control, poor judgment, and have basically been an embarrassment and an impossible person to deal with when I have been on Ambien. I have tingling in my lips and tongue, tremendous lethargy, extreme mood swings and exhibit totally irrational and insane behavior... all without the faintest idea of what I am doing, and absolutely no memory of it after the fact; only the humiliating reports of family, friends and neighbors of my psychotic behavior. Ambien is an extremely dangerous drug and if I could mount an effort to get it taken off the market, I would. Where do we start?
