I go by the ID Miserable Knees. I posted last spring on medications.com about my adverse reaction to Levaquin. I was given a 10 day prescription for a respiratory infection. 3 days after I finished taking Levaquin, BOTH KNEES were swollen, painful and I could barely walk. I spent a month throwing myself backwards into chairs due to the inflammation in my knees. My knees were on fire, I was in pain every day. After seeing an orthopedic doctor an MRI showed cartilage damage. A year later, I'm living with permanently altered legs. I was an avid walker, loved to hike, would spend hours walking for recreation. Levaquin changed all of that. I had a career requiring me to be on my feet for 12 or more hours a day. Levaquin changed all of that. I decided, if this could happen to me, it could happen to anyone. Now, there is a documentary about the dangers of fluoroquinolne antibiotics. When I was harmed by Levaquin, I was flabbergasted that something like this could happen to me in the prime of my life. I made this 52 minute film for all of the people like me who trusted the system, (government, doctor, medicine) to guarantee my safety. "Certain Adverse Events" is the name of the documentary and it is now available online. You can reach the documentary site by going online to the .com of "Certain Adverse Events"

Well, we just got out of the ENT and he couldn't believe that his ped put him on Singulair. He said he didn't like it, it wasn't a good drug, and hadn't heard of many good things about it. He also told me to take my son off immediately, to bad I already had. He also wanted me to put him back on Zyrtec but only when needed, not every day like he had been taking it. Told him about how the neb. had been talked about so he listened to my little one's lungs and he said that they are all clear and there is no need for one. While I was in this appointment, his ped. called. She said that she had never heard of any side effects with this and she wanted him to stay on it for a week to see if it worked or not. Sorry we aren't doing that, we had four doses of it and that is more than enough to say we aren't staying with it. This is just his first full day off the med and I shouldn't get all worked up but while in the waiting room to see the ENT we had two huge fits and even hit his head on one of the chairs because he didn't get his way. The ENT said to give him about a week to go threw "detox" and get it out of his system and then he should be back to himself.

Also, on top of the big mood changes and swings we didn't sleep good last night and had another fit of rage in the waiting room of the ENT. Not fun at all.

57 years old male. I took Lipitor for 5 years. I didn't notice that 3 months ago I was getting very weak - attributed it to being out of shape. I went to the Dr when I started having trouble swallowing, and shortly after that I lost most of my strength and have difficulty walking, getting out of chairs, rolling over in bed, etc. If I walk more than 200 yards, I need to be supported by friends on both sides, and my legs and arms start shaking. I have been off Lipitor for 3 months with no improvements.

I would recommend to anyone on this drug to get off it if any sign of these side effects shows up, no matter how mild...

Been on Ambien for 3 years w/approval of dr for restless legs. I'm now weaning myself from it b/c of memory loss during the day, moodiness, acid reflex, injury to myself from falling out of chairs or bumping into things, eating in the middle of the night (weight gain of 20 lbs in last year) and surfing the internet to find that I have ordered or bought things I don't remember! Of course, most of those problems were b/c I would not go right to bed after taking it... but after a year, it would take longer to kick in, so I felt I could accomplish a few things, and then when it hit, go to bed. Ha! This drug is very addicting & can get you into some real trouble. Don't even get started on it. If you can't sleep try other alternatives.

My 6 year old son is the most loveable child. He has never been in trouble at school and always loved going. He was put on Singular right after christmas - so approximently 4 weeks ago. Two weeks into the medication be began complaining of several abdominal pain and started biting his siblings. He cries all the time, is pale, looks sickly and his eyes look sunken in. It now takes two teachers to pull him off of me in the morings. He is running out of the classroom, throwing chairs and throwing items out of his desk. His teacher just keeps saying this is not her Logan. Logan loves school and is NOT a violent child. Thank God for this websit - I am stopping this medication now!

I took ONE of these acne pills at night (as directed) and woke up feeling very very dizzy. Literally the room was spinning as if I had just been spun on one of those rotatable chairs. Naturally from such dizziness arose a constant feeling of nausea. Of course I stopped taking this drug immediately... however it has been 5 DAYS NOW and I am still having dizzy spells, especially whenever I bend over. Of course it being the holiday week and all I will have to contact my doctor on Monday. I was never warned of such a drastic side effect. CONSUMER BEWARE. I'd rather deal with the acne than lose my equilibrium.

I sent a note earlier today but continued to read some of the e-mails you have received and noticed that many were the same symptoms I have experienced and blamed it onto age since I am almost 70. Now I realize that it is probably the Lipitor that is causing my leg cramps, loss of hair. short memory, trouble getting out of chairs or off my knees when I work in the yard. I also experience less energy. I have trouble climbing the stairs before my legs begin to ach. I am changing doctors this week since my current doctor doesn't seem to listen when I tell him my symptoms. I have also gained a lot of weight and feel bloated. I have always been a fairly slim person until I started taking Lipitor and Toprol about 4 years ago.
Any suggestions? Should I stop taking the meds. My cholestrol has come way down. In fact the doctor said it was better than his.

I had a UTI last week and was prescribed Levaquin - a two day dosage. I was sick to my stomach with cramps and nausea, and as the day progressed, I found myself reaching out to the walls, to chairs, to anything that would keep me upright. All day I felt as though the room were spinning and that any moment, I was going to fall off the world. Thinking perhaps I had an inner ear infection, I went ahead and took the second day's dose of Levaquin. Again the same symptoms, but I added hot flashes in the night and poor sleep. The pharmacist did not mention the side-effects, and I was stunned to find this site online when I went looking for answers to my questions about this drug.

I have been on zocor for about 2 yrs and have recently developed an annoying tremor in the bicep of my left arm and felt a tremor in my left hip when i decided to take myself off the med., the tremor has subsided considerably. after reading about everyone's side effects now maybe i can understand my blurring vision, difficulty in getting in and out of cars, chairs, etc. also maybe my angina pain and shortness of breath. Only been off med for a week so will see if other side effects subside as well.
