I have been making inquires as to how and if the fda will conduct investigations in to permanent damage left from this drug.Although on taking my son off this drug i saw a 90% improvement,i am still missing the final piece,is it that he lost 3 years to this drug or did it do damage that cannot be fixed,we as parents need to know. The FDA responded to my letter, they said if they see a trend in reports from medwatch,it may prompt an investigation .I am asking all who still have missing pieces to file a report. What has happened is a tragedy,we need to explore ever option for continued success for our childrens future.Good Luck to all,Keep Fighting

I AM SO GLAD TO KNOW THAT MOST OF YOU HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS. I am 25 yrs old and I went from 117-162 in about 4 years. I have been miserable!!!!! I was diag. in Aug. and have been taking SYNTHRIOD ever since when I first started taking it I took the medicine in the morning like the bottle and the doctor recommends, but I felt just like all of you. So I tried taking it in the afternoon for kicks and giggles to see if it would help at all. After about a week taking it at about 2pm I started feeling like a champ so I continued and now a month later I have lost 10 pounds. Just a suggestion......... The one question I do have is that I recently noticed that I have actually been ovulating and I am convinced that I haven;t in years hince why I have no kids I guess... Could your thyroid levels mess you up that bad to where you spend years not ovulating or should I go through the expensive process to see a fertility specialists. This is a question that I asked my doctor and of course they want to do 1000 $$$$$$$ tests to find out. Which I have no problems with in the future if worse comes to worse but I would like some advise from my fellow hypo sufferers and see if anyone was in the same boat as mee before being diag.

I can't believe I've stumbled on this website. Until now my symptoms did not make sense to me.
I had my Mirena in 2005 after the birth of my son. My life has changed dramatically since then & I didn't put it together until now. I was plagued by nasty vaginal discharge from the start. Though my period stopped completely what replaced it was a terrible vaginal odor that no amount of washing, deodorant spray, etc will cure. It's a bacterial infection that will not leave me alone. I almost always have it. Before the Mirena I never heard of it. My sex drive & sensation is virtually none. I even went as far as having a female piercing as I read it increases sensitivity. This is upsetting as I've never had problems with odor, loss of sensitivity or inability to achieve orgasm. Along with this I've experienced a large weight gain, abdominal bloating, migraines, aching joints, decrease in vision, back pain, dizziness, exhaustion, increase in body hair growth yet limp thinning hair, & fibroids.
I have an appointment in July to get this thing out & wish I had been more informed of the side effects.

I've been taking ativan for over 4 months, and I like it alot. Whenever I can't sleep or have an anxiety attack, It works like a champ. But is there any long-term risks?

I am 48 years old. I have been asthmatic since I was 10. Never in my history of having chronic asthma, have I had to take prednisone.I started with 10 mg for the first 8 days. After a trip to the emergency, my Dr. found it necessary to up my dose to 40mg. I took this dose for 17 days. My face is round, I have had the worse acid reflux in my life, I have had mood swings..was up all night for 2 weeks and I still can't breath that good. I am weaning myself off of this prednisone and I am looking for another doctor. I am down to 10mg and I plan never to have to take this awful medicine again. I guess It would be okay if I was breathing like a champ, but I'm not. So there is no use in having all these bad side effects if I am still having trouble breathing. It's just seems that even a Pulmonary Dr. would want to take the fast way out. There are other safer meds to use.
