Just started taking zocor 3 weeks ago. I have noticed some of the symptoms listed by others. I am having trouble with constipation. Now my hemorrhoids are flaring up. My whole bottom is hurting. I also am having charley horses in my legs. I haven't had this problem for years. Has anyone noticed these problems?

I was put on Yaz (same as Yasmin but with a smaller estrogen dose) due to irregular periods and a presumed hormonal imbalance. That was in September '07. Four month later, on Jan 1, '08, I went to the ER with breathing difficulties, and weakness in my arms and legs. I had been having muscle cramps/ charley horses in my right calf, but that was the only other health problem I had experienced. I thought I was having an asthma attack. So did the ER - at first. After I did not respond to the breathing treatments, and I became completely out of breath and exhausted after walking across the hall to the restroom, the ER doc checked my D-Dimer level to see if I was at risk for blood clots. He said if it came back over 500, he would have to do further testing for clots. It came back 4500!! I was sent immediately down for a CT Scan which showed mulitple clots in both lungs, mostly small, but several of significant size. I was immediately put on oxygen and a heart monitor, and an IV drip of heparin was started. I was in the hospital for 4 days, had to learn to give myself shots of Lovenol in my stomach until my pill form of blood thinner had time to kick in. I am now taking Coumadin blood thinner every day until July, when my D-Dimer will be checked again. Depending on the results, I may come off the Coumadin, or I may have to commit to it for 3 years. However, I was tested for all the hereditary blood clotting disorders and all came back negative, so my doctor feels as though the cause has to be the YAZ! Everyone tells me I was very lucky and that I could have easily died, especially when I was just thinking I was having an asthma attack and put off going to the ER for a few days. If you are taking Yaz or Yasmin, and you begin to have difficulty breathing, any kind of leg cramps, weakness, or tightness in your chest (I had also been having severe heart burn) - go have yourself checked out!!!!!

I started taking Lipitor a month or so ago and did not even realize it had side effects. I have been having my whole head itching like crazy day and night and I never had that in 38 years! I have been having leg cramps and charley horses in my feet so bad. I have had severe pain in my right hip/thigh area so bad that I thought I was going to have to take myself to the ER. Sharp shooting pain down my leg into my foot and in a fog mentally to where my brain and mouth do not connect. The joint and muscle pains have been so severe that to walk from the car to the store has been almost impossible. I have not taken the dose last night and already the pain and cramping is lessening. I think I'll find another way to lower the cholesterol!!!

I guess I am still trying to figure out if the Kenalog has been the reason for my unbearable leg cramps/Charley Horses. I am 62 years old and need knee replacement but tried the shot in each knee first. I must admit the shots have helped the pain tremendously...BUT...now when I do any type of standing on my feet for several hours I am awake all night with the worst leg cramps ever. I have never had leg cramps like this. I may have had an occasional cramp over the years but this is over and over all night long. I would be interested in knowing of anyone else has these same leg cramps.

I am taking Toprol XL for HBP. My legs have been cramping very badly during the night sometimes (Charley Horses). Now my doctor sent me for a doppler and they say it showed abnormal wave forms in both legs. Now they want me to do an angiogram which I am quite reluctant to do. These cramps didn't come on until I had been taking this medicine for a few months. My BP however had gone down, lower than the doctor remembers seeing it. I had blood work done earlier in the spring and everything on it was in normal range.
I was healthy until I went to the doctor. Now it seems I am on the way "out" of the world.

Sore toes. Legs swollen but left leg around ankle swells so bad that skin burns. Twitching of muscles and charley-horses so bad in my ribs that I can't wash myself in the shower without having to quickly stand straight up or my ribs will crack. Twitching of fingers due to muscle cramps. Scratching the cheeks of my face until bloody when I am not paying attention because of itching. Can't stay awake if not pre-occupied with a physical task. I have fallen asleep while someone was talking to me or while watching TV. Have fallen asleep while driving. This is over and over and over even when well rested. Feeling of something terribly wrong about one to two hours after taking my pill. Like I am dying. Severe chills, racing heart, starved for air. Can't get enough air. So bad sometimes, I am afraid I will have to call 911. During sleep, constantly having to urinate buckets overnight. Up almost every hour and when I go I must pee a half a gallon. Incredible thirst next day for pickle juice or kosher style pickles or orange or grapefruit juice. Plain water, coffee, milk, or tea doesn't satisfy. My doctor brushed off my complaints so I've now dropped him and have set up an appointment with a different one.

This is the second time my Doctor has put me on Zocor. Since taking this medication, both times I have experienced pains in my hips and down the sides and backs of my legs. It doesn't bother me as much on soft, carpeted surfaces, but becomes very uncomfortable on hard surfaces. I also have a good deal of pain in my legs if I try to pick up a heavy item to move it. I am 67 and have always been strong, but this has caused me to feel like a really old lady. Has anyone else been successful changing to another medicine that does the same thing? I feel as if my muscles are tied up in knots, and I guess they are since I also experience more charley horses.

I have seasonal allergies and asthma. My doctor prescribed Singular and within 2 days I had gained 3 lbs. It is a struggle to prevent further gain. I am eating very healthy with normal portion sizes. I have a low fat, low carb, whole grain diet. No junk foods. Other side effects I have experienced are fatigue, weak upper arms, cramping in the upper thighs, charley horses in the middle of the night and bad dreams.

I was started on Lisinopril about a month and a half ago.
Initially I was taking 20 mg. I started having a dry cough and it was worse at night. After a month the doctor increased my dosage to 40 mg. The cough has grown much worse. As someone stated above...any phone conversation I have that is of any length at all will find me coughing continually.
At night I sleep for about 1 1/2 hours and then am awake for many hours before I can fall back asleep because my legs are aching and I have Charley horses in my toes. I have had problems with achy legs at night, in the past and ibuprofen always helped...now it doesn't and the achy legs are every single night.
Two nights ago I went to bed at 10:00 and woke up at 11:15. I was awake until 4:30 the next morning.
I decided after doing some reading on lisinopril that I was not going to take it any longer. The doctor had told me at my last visit that if the coughing increased they would change my prescription.
I too have experienced some nausea and headaches.
I commonly suffer the side affects of drugs so I'm not really surprised.
