I began Topamax approx. 6 wks. ago for migraine prevent. Have Relpax too for when migraine attack breaks through. I have had some tingling in feet ,recently better. Have noticed my vision seems worse, but forgot to tell my Dr. at last chk. I have been quite discouraged with the fatigue and feeling tearful and even crabby sometimes! I have continued to have a fair number of headaches weekly, although 2 whopper sinus infections as well. Will these side effects get better? I take 25 mg am and 50 mg pm now. Dr. added Elavil 10 mg for sleep at last appt. because I wake up alot too. I'm pretty discouraged...

I have been taking effexor for about 4 years now. My depression was maybe brought on??, due to a traumatic operation I had when I was 17. I was left undiagnosed for a couple of years, just leaving my with frequent visit's to my GP, annd me leaving just feeling like a hypercontriact!!!!! I started on 37.5mg once daily for about two years and things seemed fine and I was just building up my confidence/ablility to come of them, when i had a relaspe. My GP increased me to 75mg daily but last week with a chk up visit to the GP, I was still having sleeping prob's, and crying issues! I've now gone up to 150mg daily. I'm unimpressed by this as i wanted to come down again.
Does any one else feel like their life is being run by a bloody pill???
I just want to be like a normal young 22yr old, hold down a full time job/college course, not have to be a part-timer! Have a social life and mostly have a sex life with my ever patient boyfriend. Do any of you drink achohol or smoke cannabis (casually), whilst taking this med's. It tells you not to, but how true is that?
Let me know your views :)

I would like to stop taking paxil, I have been on it for 3 yrs. When I skip my medicine I get what feels like electrical shocks in my neck & head. I wasnt sure if I had a pinched nerve at 1st but began to associate this with the event that I had not taken my meds. I also have onset of panic attacks & rapid heart, & terrible terrible forgetfulness, as to even what cabinet I would like to open, I open the wrong one, go into the wrong doorway, wrong driveway. I am very concerned. I have told my Dr. that I would like to get off this Paxil but Ive been told that it would be best since I was suffering from anxiety attacks in past. I would like to be committed to be able to handle the withdrawls. If anyone has been successful in stopping Paxil and now feels pretty back to normal, please let me know. Thanks
