I was given it for a nasty kidney infection, but I swear it made me more sick than the infection ever could. I was lethargic and nauseated off my rocker, fevering, and trembling. I remember while I was recovering from the medication as I lay waiting for its 1 1/2 half life to expire, my room mate said it felt like we had a vibrating couch I was trembling so much. That all passed, but what has stayed with me for two years is a damaged, unpredictable, undesirable digestive tract. I get stomach aches and nausea a lot, and my bowel usually cramps and hurts. It stripped me of all the good flora I had in my tract and though mom gave me acidophiles bacteria (sp?) which has helped a ton, my tract has never ever been the same. People say I just developed IBS over the years, and if a doctor does give me a minute of their time, they just say that or it's stress or it's 'normal' as one doc tried to pass it off as. They just won't listen. Before Cipro my tract was strong and resilient, I took Cipro, then after Cipro it's so sensitive and unpredictable and painful. Thank goodness I found ginger, but this shouldn't have happened in the first place. I hope one day a doctor listens to me so I can find out what the Cipro caused, whether it's Colitis, Chrones, IBS... Ect... I don't even know what is wrong with me but I do know Cipro caused it. No one will believe the Cipro is what caused it... Now I am so anxious about it, which only exaggerates it. I get stressed and I can feel my gut start to spasm. Please someone help me... Please...

my daughter was prescribed singulair at 3 years old after several visits to the ER. her asthma was controlled immediately, but her behavior changed too. she is now 6 (singulair dose upped to 5mg) and has slowly transformed from an intelligent, happy, fearless, excited child to someone who was having trouble in school concentrating, depression, scared of everything, tummy aches, heart palpataions, chronic sinusitis.

we went through several tests from cystic fibrosis to blood work for white blood count and also chrones testing because of the constant stomach irritation and cramping. i finally looked up side effects to singulair two weeks ago...read all of this and took her off of it, and off of zyrtec (please look up zyrtec...BAD STUFF) she is slowly back to her old self but absolutely not angry, depressed, and crying all the time!!!!! just had teacher conferences and her teachers were shocked at her personality switch. they were floored at her drive for learning and her attitude adjustment. they wanted to know what had changed so rapidly!!!!

she still takes advair 100 and i now have her on a heavy dose of vitamins/minerals (including quercitin, omega oil, vitamin a, vitamin c, etc.) recommended in a pediatric asthma health cures book i read. we are working toward a balance in controlling behavior and asthma and i hope to god this works. it is so nice to have my happy daughter back!!!

please, if anyone knows about other successful homeopathic approaches please let me know.

Unfortunately the rudeness from the responses are probably another side effect from the prednisone. I have been on for 3 months now, up to 40 mg a day and I have body aches, feels like my bones are brittle and will break if I stand up. I have blurred vision and fevers the whole nine yards. My doctor is so hard to get in to see and when I tell the nurse she says" oh thats not due to the prednisone". Yeah right. It is a bad drug. I have Chrones and have requested Remicade , which is an alternative drug which I know people that are on it and have done very well. But to my first point there are alot of side effects due to drug and the moodiness is very apparent here. If you want to vent go elsewhere .
