wow, I'm officially terrified. I've been taking Paxil for 8 months now for chronic anxiety and panic attacks. Prior to paxil, my muscles became so tense, my entire body would seize up. Paxil has helped with that but left the rest of my life in shambles. Effexor used to work for me, but I tried to go off them then go back on and eventually effexor became ineffective. With the paxil I have night sweats (just learned that is a side effect from this website), dizziness, takes a couple hours to fall asleep and a couple hours to wake up, dreams that feel real, light sensitive, some days I shake so bad that I have broken glassware! What bothers me the most is my inability to read. Are there others who have this problem? I can't see the page properly, or I can't concentrate long enough to get through a page, and sometimes both. Is this a side effect of the drug?

I had the Mirena inserted in October 07 because of very heavy menstruation problems. I have never tolerated the pill so I was nervous about the possible hormonal side effects of the Mirena, My GP and Gyno both played the side effects down and maintained that the dose of hormones was so small and only released "locally", whatever that means. The first month was ok, I spotted daily and did not experience any other serious side effects, just the occasional cramping. The first day of my Mirena period I had a massive vertigo attack, spinning out of control for a couple of hours. I was due to catch a plane that day and had to cancel my weekend away with my husband. My GP maintained it had nothing to do with the Mirena and that I had an inner ear infection. From that day on I experienced chronic dizziness, and increasing symptoms of heart palpitations, nausea and anxiety. By the end of the second month, I felt I was loosing my mind, becoming extremely irritable and very anxious for no apparent reason. My body felt like it was in a constant state of alert. I decided to have the Mirena removed and experienced almost instant relief form the dizziness and chronic anxiety. I "crashed" 9 days later for about 4 days when all my symptoms came back with a vengeance and it felt pretty scary. 6 weeks post Mirena I feel chronically fatigued and have achy and weak legs. I have consulted a naturopath who has given me a cocktail of vitamins, minerals and instructed me to be alcohol free, caffeine free, wheat free and cow's milk free. I try to walk my dog once a day and eat extremely healthy food and sleep. I have had to stop work for a month. The Mirena experience has been a disaster for me and I am still waiting to get back to my normal self. Reading this site does give me support in knowing that others have experienced similar debilitating symptoms. I have felt very let down by the lack of medical support and understanding of what Mirena can do to you.

Numbness in lips and racing heart. Pulse went to 120 for a few house while sitting down at desk, never did this while on Micardis alone. Have been on Toprol 25mg for one week. Have mild hypertension numbers at 135/85 before Micardis and now BP ranges from 117/70-157/90 when fully anxious.

Anyone out there with chronic anxiety and on these meds?

I have began Levo .1 and started having heart palpitations , chronic anxiety, and diarrhea, bloating miserable. I lowered the dose to 0.50 and still continue to experience the palps. I went to the doctor at urgent care yesterday and we decide to lower the levo to 0.025 in the am and 0.025 in the pm to see if that helps for a while. Hears hoping that it works. The side effects on here are terrible. I hope that mine go away after I get adjusted to the dose or quit it all together. It is harad denoughg to deal with a total thyroidectomy then a RAI 131 treatment now this crap! It makes you wonder if you are ever gonna feel normal again?

I have been taking 10 mg Paxil at night and 150 mg Wellbutrin daily for the past 6 months. I was still feeling a bit low energy wise and decided to ask my doctor to ratchet up the Wellbutrin to 300mg. He prescribed the XL formulation.

First day was fine. On the second day, I had a strong cappuccino for breakfast and two diet cokes (at lunch). Also had 3 shots of scotch at a dinner party. I woke up with severe diarrhea and nausea. For the next 3 days, I stopped all caffeine and alcohol intake but my digestive upset has not gone.

The symptoms are very similar to the Irritable Bowel Disorder I suffered for years before Paxil. Alternating diarrhea and Constipation with concommitant dyspepsia.

I am now seeing my doctor today to see what he thinks. I have a suspicion that Wellbutrin and Caffeine do not mix well. Almost a year ago when I first started Wellbutrin (300 mg) and drank 2 diet cokes, I felt very weird. I immediately cut the dose down to 150 mg. Maybe that is all my body can tolerate.

On the plus side, when I started Wellbutrin, I was feeling extremely low energy-wise and was sleeping a lot. At that time I was on 20 mg of Paxil. I have felt much better after adding 150 mg Wellbutrin and cutting the Paxil down to 10 mg.

My original problem was essentially chronic anxiety throughout childhood (a family condition) accompanied by a variety of psychosomatic illnesses like mild Psoriasis, back pain and IBD. I also had a mild stuttering problem that has now almost disappeared. Paxil has been responsible for alleviating all these conditions.

Unfortunately, as is well known Paxil is no panacea and it makes me very drowsy.
