I have been using bisacodyl laxatives for over a dozen years. Unfortunately due to the tolerance I my body has developed for this medication, I am often required to use between ten and fifteen tablets per dosage -- and I need to use them every night or morning. Since nearly the outset of my using this laxative, I have suffered from severe, intense, INTOLERABLE cramping of a degree I have never experienced with any other medication or from any other product. The cramps and pain are so severe that it is difficult for me to even put it into words. The pain emanates from just below my breast bone, in the center of my ribcage. It is so debilitating that the ONLY way that I can achieve even a slight degree of relief is to ball up a pillow or some similar object and place it directly where the pain is centered. The intensity can last anywhere from fifteen minutes up to and beyond an hour. It's made me late for work, for school, and is often accompanied by nausea, cold sweats and vomiting. I am seeking out others who have experienced these side effects after using this product to see what alternatives exist for me, and also to see how they might alleviate some of the pain. It is without question the most hideous, horrific pain I have ever experienced. Any thoughts?

neck ache for 6 weeks but it has now passed; felt peculiar, then nauseous, then almost fainted and had blurred vision in a church service; wake up up to 5 times a night although I slept well before going on the medication; chronic constipation; face tingles and often by the evening my lips are swollen; heartburn at night a few times which is unusual; asthma much worse but not a real problem; a cough which drives my husband mad but is productiive not dry and probably due to the asthma; tiredness due to lack of sleep. The one plus effect is that I am not depressed and don't lack concentration as I did with bendrafluazide. The doctor puts all the side effects down to my age and is pleased because my BP is now normal!

What I am experiencing may or may not be the result of the doxycycline hyclate, but I suspect that it is after reading all of these posts. I took a 100MG doxycycline capsule about a week ago late at night ( to prevent Malaria), laid down, and I woke up to discover a sensation of something being stuck in my throat. That was about a week ago...since then it has progressively become harder to swallow and eat. I have experienced some tingling in my fingers, occasional bouts of nausea and discomfort/pressure in my chest that is very noticeable in my chest when I lie down. Also had severe chronic constipation subsequent to taking the pill, but this may not be related to the doxy, not sure.
I went to the doctor today-the PA ran all kind of tests-EKG, throat x-rays, blood, and urine and didn't see anything abnormal. I hope to find out what the problem is soon.
