My 9 year old son started Singulair 5mg about 8 months ago. Shortly after, he started to occasionally complain of stomach pain and not being hungry. About 2 months ago, they changed the dosage to 10mg. He now has chronic diarrhea and severe weight loss. We stopped the medicine about 2 weeks ago, but he's not "back to normal" yet. He's never had any digestive problems before. The doctor's recommending endoscopes, and we're at our wit's end.

I was relieved at first to be off atenlol(?) and hoping lisinopril would control my hpb. Instead, the dry, choking cough, up all night was not the worst for me. I had CHRONIC diarrhea, I mean constant. If I ate, I had immediate diarrhea, if I drank something, water, coffee, whatever, I had diarrhea. The doctor kept wanting me to get a colonoscopy but I felt it was the lisinopril as I knew when it started. You know we all know our bodies better than the doctor so I insisted 2 weeks ago that she give me something else. I am on Norvasc now. I took the last lisinopril on a Friday morning and by Sunday morning the diarrhea had stopped not to be experienced again to date. Thank goodness. That sure drains you quickly, being tired besides not always convenient to find a bathroom. I could not eat lunch at work because of the loud rolling stomach and gurgling noises my stomach made every time I ate or drank anything, IT was not only a worry but it was horribly embarrassing as I share an office and the quiet was broken with my stomach noises, just awful. I had the hair loss, aching in muscles , couldn't walk upstairs without being out of breath not to mention my throat would get extremely dry and my voice would crack, love to sing in church and can't do that anymore. I was a mess and still have not gotten my voice back. Anyone else have these problems?

Whenever I take a new medication with intolerable side effects, I immediately stop taking it. Because Vivitrol is given in the form of a shot, the side effects will last the entire month that the drug is in my system. The chronic diarrhea and nausea have made me feel so much worse than I ever did before. I am so weak and tired and sick to my stomach every day. I am losing weight and my potassium is probably dropping to dangerous levels from the side effects of this drug. Why, so often is the cure always worse than the disease?

Needless to say, Warfarin almost killed me. I was put on it after an apendectomy gone wrong which then turned into a bowel resection. In between the two surgeries I ended up with pulmonary emboli. I was put on Warfarin and also had a vena cava fiter put in. I'm a 40 year old female and have never felt so sick in my life. I was exhausted, constantly throwing up and had chronic diarrhea. Also my INR elevated to an 8 after constant vomiting causing the need for a plasma transfusion. Ugh! I kept telling my Drs. that I thought it was the coumadin but no one seemed to listen. As a result of my last hospitalization (7 admissions since 12/5/2008) they finally took me off of the coumadin (Warfarin) and now I am a totally new woman. The stuff took a week to get out of my system but thankfully I feel great. I hope this is helpful to anyone suffering.

I've took a very high dosage of prednisone for 6 years, from the age of ten years old. 17 years later, i still have an extreme moon face. The only thing that has ever helped me was a facial exerciser (a microcurrent devise), but those results can be hard an expensive to maintain. As anyone else ever had a moon face that wouldnt go away even after stopping their prednisone usage after a long period of time? Does anyone have any advice for me, on how i can finally get rid of this horrible extreme moonface? my face and all my facial features are swollen, including my eyelids, this has been goin on for years. I also have suffered for years from severe chronic diarrhea from an illeostomy reversal. Please help me.

I began having chronic diarrhea in December, 2006. Lab tests are negative for c-diff, etc. I began taking Lisinopril December 1, 2006. I've notice that when I take the Lisinopril my symptoms worsen. Just called my doctor today to go back to Diazide Oral. I think it is the Lisinopril causing the diarrhea.

I started taking yasmin last august--continuously for 4 or 5 months because that was recommended to me for very bad cramps and vomiting during my period. towards the end of september i began having chronic diarrhea, which continues to this present day (february 11th). in january and february i gave myself a break on the pillpack in order to have a period and see if my diarrhea would stop. i've been to a specialist several times about my intestinal problems--i had a colonoscopy and an upper G.I. examination. everything was normal, so i'm beginning to wonder if it's just a side effect of yasmin. i've told every single doctor that i'm taking yasmin, and nobody seems to think it could be giving me chronic diarrhea. i'm quitting the pills this month, but i'm afraid of my severe cramps. does anybody recommend the IUD called Mirena? i'm trying to consider other options...

I've been taking singulair for 3 years, and have had chronic diarrhea, some headaches, and stomach upset almost daily the whole time. Is there something else I could take that is as effective as cingulair for my asthma? My chest feels tight if I stop taking singulair. Becky

Trying to uncover the cause of my 76 year old father's chronic diarrhea. He has been on a variety of drugs to control BP since quadruple bipass surgery (with compliations)
in Nov. 05. Diarrhea seems to correlate(to me--not docs) with Norvasc and Lisinopril combination. Any thoughts? With the number of meds he is on it is so hard to figure this out.

I am a 42 year old woman and have never had an alergic reaction or bad reaction to any medicine my whole life. I started taking omnicef for bronchitis, and on the fifth day began having chronic diarrhea, which I did not equate with the drug at all. Today is my 10th (last day) on the prescription and I am just now realizing the cause of my extreme discomfort and weakness, which I thought must be a horrible virus!

I have taken Questran for many years. I had my gallbladder removed in 1984. I suffered from chronic diarrhea thereafter. This was the first drug to help at all. Then, I started having a lot of problems absorbing vitamins & medicines. I have iron-deficient anemia & my hair is thinning. I recently switched to WelChol; but it doesn't seem to work quite as well so far. Instead of 1 pkg a day, I take 6 pills a day with meals. I do seem to be bringing my iron back up. I can take meds any time too. I'm not sure what side effects this drug has though.

I have had the Mirena for over two years now. I have had some slight negative symptoms; however, I have been please. I suffer from IBS-D (chronic diarrhea). Since I have had the Mirena, I have been close to cured...not much diarrhea, until recently. I wonder, does the effectiveness of the Mirena change as the side effects change?
