I,ve had mirena for 2 1/2 yrs and it has been the worst 2 1/2 yrs ever! I went to the ob 8 months ago to have it removed and my Dr. would not take it out she said that there was no possible way that it could be causing my 6 days in a row migraines that only respond to imitrex nothing else. So for the past couple of days I've been trying to make an appt to have
mirena taken out but the appts are like 2 weeks wait. I removed it myself this morning took a while to find it, hope this doesn't offend anyone I just wanted it out that bad. I really hope I start to feel better and that all the symptoms tat I have been having are not all in my head. My symptoms include no menstrual bleeding but instead a viscous cycle of Pms, cramps, headaches and fatigue that never go away. For the past 10 months I,ve had migraines and have been taking imitrex consistently. I don't ever feel like getting out of bed and my 2 oldest kids don't understand why I'm so ill and my youngest 2 1/2 says mommy has a headache, all day long. I'm curious to know if any one else has had migraines or chronic neck pain? Thanks.

I am in tears reading everyone's Lipitor experiences because I can relate to so much of what you all are saying. I am a 48 year old female. Was on Lipitor for a little over a year, and stopped taking it about 6 weeks ago. My symptoms included excruciating neck and arm pain, leg muscle pain, knee pain, tingling arms and elbows, hip pain. I blamed my neck problems on a previous injury. I did chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, massage. All helped temporarily, but it always came back. I assumed it was something I would have to live with for the rest of my life.
Then i started having the strange leg muscle pain. It felt like a Charlie horse but in weird spots like my ankles, my shin as well as my calves. Then the knee pain started. I can not sit any length of time without my knee aching. I also have a hitch in my hip...I guess that's what you'd call it. I feel pain when I walk, but can usually walk through it. I was also tired all the time, day after day. Sleeping was miserable because of the neck, knee and hip pain. In combination with the tiredness and the aches and pains, I thought I was just getting old, maybe arthritic!! And this from someone who has always been active....walking, weight lifting, always on the go.
I started getting suspicious when I started listening to the Lipitor commercials on TV that stated "...report any muscle pain or weakness to your doctor as this may be a sign of a rare, but serious side effect..." or something like that. Maybe that's a new "warning" that they didn't use to say on the commercial? Well, I went off of it on my own and I could not believe how much better I felt after only a few days!!! My chronic neck pain has basically disappeared...I still don't have full movement like normal folk but the pain is gone! I have so much more energy, and my leg cramps are gone. I still have a problem with my hip and knee.
Since being off Lipitor, my cholesterol has gone sky high....actually higher than when I first started! My total cholesterol began a little over a year ago at 247, got it down to 190, now after being off the Lipitor for 4 weeks it's a whopping 298!!! My ldl started at 162, got down to 128 and is now 206!!!!
So in addition to all the problems I had being on the Lipitor, it appears going off of it has worsened by cholesterol!!
I am now taking ground flax seed - 2 T daily. I am also going to try cholesterol Off by Nature Made. I will NEVER subject my body and spirit to statins again.
I thank all of you for posting your problems with Lipitor. I wish you all luck, and maybe we'll get to meet each other someday....in court.

I was put on a 7 day prednisone regiment for sudden lower back pain. I have had chronic neck pain finally diagnosed as arthritis from a diving accident 35 years ago. I felt wonderful on this drug! No neck pain at all, for the first time that I can remember. Lower back pain disappeared immediately and has not returned. My mood was calm, I slept great. Only "adverse" reaction was that my face looked tan. Very smooth looking skin. I wish I could take it again! I hope you are all well.

I have been taking Fosamax for 3 1/2 years for severe bone loss and family history of osteoporosis. During this time my bone density has increased by .1. I execise every day and lift weights 3 times a week. In the past year I have experienced chronic neck pain that radiates from the back of my neck up over the top of my head. It lasts for 3 weeks, then disappears for about a month, then reappears. My doctor feels it is skeletal but Advil does not touch the pain. After reading about the side effect , necrosis of the jawbone, coupled with my neck pain I decided to discontinue Fosamax. I will be anxious to see if the pain disappears and if my bone density remains the same in 6 months when I am scheduled for another bone density test. Has anyone experienced similar side effects?

I've been on neurontin for about 3 years. I take 2400mg per
I have all of the ill effects mentioned above plus one more. My vision is impaired 40 % worse than when I first started this medication. I would have to say that I too am very frustated with this medication now. I have short term memory loss, weight gain, chest pain, constipation, swollen extremities, no sex drive, headaches, excessive feelling of euporia, depressed, and much more. The one thing I can say is that it did help the problem for which I was prescribed. Chronic neck pain/spasms. Go figure!

VERY dizzy and feel disoriented, my dr. prescribed ultracet to me for my chronic neck pain, i have tried everything you can think of to help ease the pain, nothing helped until this med. however it does make me really dizzy, especially noticeable the next morning, i litterally feel like my eyes are crossing a feeling i get when i am extrememly sleepy. this time when i took my ultracet last nite, i also began itching, it seems unlikely that it is an allergic reaction to the medication because i ahve taken before and taken it several times with this not happening. i also noticed i am very grumpy when i take it, i never would have thought it was because of the ultracet until i read it on here! all in all i think this is a good medication for people who have pain and nothing has worked for them....

So from my understand most people on this web site have had "pregnant like" feelings. Well isn't this suppose to trick your body into thinking your pregnant?? So wouldn't all these symptoms be somewhat normal?? I'm just trying to do my research on Mirena and Implanon to figure out which type I would like to get. I've heard bad things on both of these, but also good things. Any information of either of these would be helpful.
