I have been on Warfarin since Sept 2004 when I had multiple blood clots in both lungs. Since then I have had two more PE's (one with a therapeutic INR) and a blood clot in my left arm (INR was also therapeutic). Genetic tests show nothing.

Since starting Warfarin I have had
- dizziness issues,
- eternal extreme fatigue
- hair loss
- short term memory and cognitive issues,
- joint pain and
- head aches all the time. I think the headaches are the worse since I can't take any NSAID's for them.

I have lost weight and push myself to exercise because it is supposed to make you feel better, right? Well not yet. I keep waiting.

I have not been able to return to work and worry about the long term implications of this.

Many times I have wondered about my sanity and if I was imagining all of this, so finding this forum at least lets me know that there is a possibility that it is not all in my mind.

I have been seeing a psychiatrist to help me work through the almost dying 3 times thing, but it is hard to accept since no one knows why I throw the clots. My INR is not stable in spite of close monitoring of Vit K and other drugs, and my INR must be taken twice a week.

The only side effect i have is light twitching of my right eyelid and thigh.

The drug has done miracles for manic stuff. I am able to concentrate and
i am more able to deal with sound and sight overloads.

I play mahjongg to monitor my cognative functions and my times are faster
than they have ever been.

On July 5, I started a 10 day regimine of 500 mg once a day. The first day was horrible, decreased cognative skills, insomnia, twitching in left hand, tingling and numbness is the foot and lower right leg. I never thought it was the levaquin. I thought it was my inhaler or decongestant. So I continued on with my "kill pills" for another seven days. After feeling like I was on my death bed, I came across these web sights and stopped taking it after my eighth day. I am now four days and I have new symptoms. My mouth feels like cotton with a metallic taste, I feel like I am choking on my foamy clear spit, my throat seems swollen and I have a hard time swallowing. My right rib cage feels like it is cracked. I'm scared and would wish this nightmare would end. I'm afraid to go running for fear of rupturing a tendon. Any ideas on natural detox method? I really don't want to support the pharmaceutical industry in my demise.

I was in a very serious auto accident in 1999 that left me in a coma for 2 months. I lost my spleen, 2/3rds. of my pancrease, broken ribs and sternum, broken pelvis and a severe head injury. I am on many medications due to my accident. by losing 2/3rds of my pancrease, I was left with diabetes, very painful periphral neuropathy that I am on pain meds for for life. I lost 40% of my cognative ability. Doctors tried all sorts of drugs to keep me calm preventing panic attacks (PTSD) and tachacardia episodes. The Pyciatrist that I finally was able to see Prescribed me 2 mg. of xanax 3 per day. I must say that this medication was my savior to having a normal life. Before I took this med I took Valium and that did nothing. BUT, this medication according to my Doctor said that it's not for all people, however he said it was custom made for persons in my condition. Without it I cannot get into a car. Have a civil conversation with others. I just sit and stare
all day. Even though I take celexa everyday, it does nothing for me. With the combination of celexa and xanax I am able to live a near normal life. As I said, I have many other physical problems controled by opiods. My life till date has meaning to it. God bless my Doctor that gave me my life back to me. Granted, I hurt non stop but at least I can function. Xanax is a good medication for the few it was entended for like me. I highly recommend it to those that take their meds responsibly.
