I have been taking Keflex, 500mg, for about 4 days now, in that time I have since developed a lack of appetite, I have lost my job, my roommate stole my favorite shoes and walked through puddles, my normal sure handedness has disappeared resulting in me dropping 4 eggs on the kitchen floor, my toes are swelling to the point that flip flops are not an option... AND coke tastes like Pepsi...
All of this to treat a sinus infection. I will never take this medicine again.

I just started taking ephedrine. I like it because it suppresses my appetite like crazy, but the down side is that I literally CAN NOT eat anything...I gag when I try to swallow food! Last night I threw up in my car on the way home and all I had ingested that day was a LOT of water, a coke, and a LOT of ephedrine. gotta take it easy!

I've been on this medicine for almost three days now and had no problems, until this mornings dose. my nightly dose consists of this and two other medicines, one of which i take food with and i haven't had any problems outta that dose. but this morning i was running late and didn't grab a glass of water with my meds, instead i grabbed a coke. HORRIBLE MISTAKE! i was running around the house trying to get ready for school but i still felt fine. about ten minutes into my drive i burp and then i suddenly feel as if i'm gonna throw up. another 15 minutes goes by and i had to pull over on the side of the highway and puke. it was so freaking embarrassing and horrible. i still made it to class on time though. i have now learned my lesson. if it says take with a glass of water, it really means take it with a glass of water :/

I'm glad I found this page. My husband has incredibly severe asthma and one of his doctors has decided that he needs to stay on antibiotics constantly (don't agree, don't understand, they won't listen).
Anyway, my husband showed up at my job today and told me he didn't remember dropping me off at work and he had no idea where he'd been all morning, he just "came to" in a KMart parking lot with 1/4 tank of gas missing. We stopped by the bank, stopped at a gas station for a coke, he dropped me off at work.....he doesn't remember anything but getting in the car at the house. He's seemed a little quiet, but he wasn't "out of it" or anything, but he remembers hardly anything from the last three days. After a few moments of sheer panic and running through possibilities (like a mini-stroke), I remembered the doctor had changed his antibiotic to Avelox and that I'd had a similar experience a few years ago with an antibiotic. I did some research on line and the side effects listing for Avelox was INSANE! Why do they prescribe this stuff so quickly??? We, too, received samples, so no insert was included - no warnings. He feels awful and he's sleeping as I type, and hopefully things will improve once it's out of his system: I've got my fingers crossed!

Hi, I am 25. I have taken omeprazole 20mg. for 4 months for my GERD, and after the fourth month, I started having these abnormal heartbeats. I am really worried if these are side effects of omeprazole, and if this medicine may cause permanent damage to the heart. So I decided to see my PCP and requested a change in medication, so he prescribed me 6 month-refills of Aciphex 20mg. It’s my second week now, and I feel this weird itchy feeling inside my chest. I feel like I am always tired, and breathe hard than usual. Id this a side effect of Aciphex? Should I stop taking Aciphex? And does achiphex damages the heart muscle, or cause CAD?

I have been on Lamictal for a few months and I started out on 50 mg and went up two 100 mg within two weeks time - Everything was fine until I went off of it for 5 weeks and then back on it pretty suddenly. Ever since then I have had chronic nausea (constant feeling of car sickness). There are times when I wake up with it in the morning and go to sleep with it at night. Nothing will help except fountain coke (I don't know why, but it works) but the pain always winds up coming back within a few hours.
I ALSO HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCE THE FOLLOWING AS WELL
• Memory Loss ***
• Messing Up Words + Speech Comes Out Backwards ***
• Loosening of Teeth
• Sores and Blisters on Inside of Mouth
• Soreness and Heaviness in the Legs + Occasional Muscle Aches
• Headaches (Not so much anymore)
• Heart Racing + Mind Racing
• Trouble Writing + Spelling ***

For the last two months I have been on 5mg of Lisinopril. I have always felt that I was a person with anxiety/depression symptoms. I have experienced some different feelings since I began taking this med about 2 months ago. My biggest concern is heart palpitations or irregular heart beat. I also have had skipped heart beats with loss of breath. I also seem to have more chest discomfort. I recently had a angiogram with installation of one stint. No heart damage or heart attack diagnosed. I can not blame all these symptoms on the drug but the skipped heart beats and chest discomfort were non-existent prior to taking the med and they continue even after my procedures. With my PCD's permission I have removed myself of this drug. Any thoughts on this?

I have been on Topamax for a little over a year. I've had most of the side effects; tingling, numbness in the fingers, dry mouth, forgetfulness, and weight loss - love the weight loss. All the side effects have sort of slowed down as I've been on the medication longer. The weight loss has slowed and I've even began to get my appetite back- I'm afraid I'm going to start gaining weight now! I've lost about 40 pounds and I needed to lose it, so that was wonderful. I've had a very hard time losing weight all my life so this was wonderful.
I was addicted to Coca Cola and this med also helped me kick that habit because I lost my taste for the carbonation.
Does anyone know if the weight loss usually evens out after about a year or a year and a half? I need to lose about 30 more pounds and was hoping that I would continue losing weight!
Anyway, I was on the Topamax for headaches and it has completely helped that! It has truly been a God-send for me. Other than monthly hormone headaches, I don't get migraines hardly at all!
I am wondering about having my doc up my dosage for the weight loss aspect????

Hello, everyone. I didn't know there was a page like this, but I'm glad there is. I've been on Topamax for 3 weeks because the medicine I was on for 2 years didn't do anything and the headaches weren't going away at all anymore; they were continuous. The first week at 25 mg I had the tingling for a day or two, the involuntary muscle twitches, the terrible mouth taste, and the chest pain. All but the terrible taste went away by the second week at 50 mg but I started getting wobbly legs and dropsy. I read an article somewhere where a person on Tomamax called the drug Stupamax or Dopamax and said anyone on it turned into a box of rocks. The box hit me at 3 weeks and 75 mg. I'm not wobbly anymore, I'm still irritatingly dropsy, and I am doing things that only a person with half a brain would do. Plus, my ears have been ringing for two days, and today I feel like I'm in a tunnel and everything is far away. I'm getting ready to call my doctor. On the OTHER hand, I haven't had a headache that lasted for more than a half hour in 3 weeks. So what's best? Going back to headaches or continue to evolve into a box of rocks?

I have been a migraine sufferer for over 13 years and have run the gammut of medications to prevent and deal with them. My mother took Topamax a couple of years ago with disastrous results. I didn't realize, but I guess she was so loopy and forgetful that it was enough to cause my grandmother and stepfather to perfom an "intervention" to get her off of it. So, here I am a couple years later starting it myself, wondering if the side effects are worth the trade off. I'll be honest and say that I love Coke. I mean, loved. Carbonated drinks of all ethnicities taste like slimy metal now. How disappointing. And considering that if I went a day without drinking a Coke, I would get a wicked migraine, I've resorted to putting Crystal Light Energy (Wild Strawberry) in my water to give me the needed caffeine.
I've also noted tingling in my face, kinda like numbness. Nothing that is earth-shattering, but noticeable. I get dizzy a lot. I've also lost about 5 lbs since starting the medicine. And today, I could not find the word "prescription" in my mental warehouse. Not a difficult word on a normal day. I've only been on Topamax for a week though. I'm going to give it a good month to see if the side effects dissipate. But if I get any stupider, I'm going to have to go another route.

Hi, im 20 yrs old. It is thurs.june 22nd and i started using yasmin last thurs the 15th of june. Since i was 13 yrs old i havent been able to throw up and i fear that. i dont like the feeling. Last night i couldnt sleep because i felt i had soemthing im my throat and i couldnt do anything about it, but hope that whatever it was went down with water, coke, and picot... but it was hopeless so i went to sleep like that. This past sunday my parents were having a barbeque outside with friends and suddenly i started getting nervous and i felt like i wanted to throw up and i couldnt do anything about it but feel worried anxious and i went inside to splash water in my face.... i got over it by like chewing on a minty gum thats how i overcome throwing up feeling. So i dont know whats wrong with me i wish i had like money so i can go to the doctor and do like blood tests and examinations from head to toe. But over all what sucks about everything is me getting used to swallowing the little pills.... i started by taking a bite and then swallow with coke or whatever. Well thats about it hopefully nothing is wrong with me.

This stuff is like kiddy-coke! Not something I would recommend for the children. With all the new information comming out about ephedrine, I am not sure I would feel comfy with an adult taking this much less a child.
Spaced, pupils like saucers, unable to sleep or going unconcious randomly, irritability, and can be addictive... yeah... what a huge step forward for science.
Now, how many meds do you have to take to take care of the side affects from taking this one? When does your pill bottle have to become a suitcase???

Hi, I have several post on this site about panic attacks, heart racing, short of breath, etc. I have found something that has helped all of the above side effects. I now don't drink anything with caffeine in it, it helps soooooo much! I start to get real panicy when I would drink coffee or have a coke. I have stopped all of that now and feel so much better, I haven't had an attack in over 2 weeks, when I use to have them everyday! I hope this helps other girls...please let me know if it does...I'd give it a try! =)

Migraines don't seem to be any better. I've been taking topamax for almost 3 weeks now and am up to 75mg. I was wondering if the nausea I was having was from my migraines or the topamax but no one mentioned that. I have noticed that I crave water more than coke now and have hearburn a lot. Also not much of an appetite so maybe I will make it into my size 4 pants by summer! No tingling anywhere, no sleeping problems. I thought my crying spells were because of my migraines. Maybe it's the topamax...this is a good web site - although I think we all sound like we're crazy :)

My mood swings were huge. With three young sons in the house, it took a lot to keep me composed. Hunger, gained 25 pounds the first week. As bad as food tasted, I could not push myself away from the table. Water and Coke tasted terrible. Am off it for now and while it did take my pain away and restore my strength, the side effects were cruel.

You know, I almost feel guilty at being the only success story to date here. Still taking 5mg. Zestril before bed every night. I insisted on this brand with my doctor as others were causing side effects. Having said that the British National Health Service contributes to supplies so it costs me just over £6 every order which can last up to two months. Interested to read opinions that Lisinopril is not necessarily for High BP. Now, if it's any help to you at all, can I suggest dietary changes too. I have for some weeks switched to Soya Milk and ceased (nearly) all dairy products (farmers practically stuff fat down your throats in the UK!). No chocolate either. Switch to a Soya based spread for putting on bread. Fish oils are also greatly beneficial, i.e. sardine, tuna, cod (cod liver oil) etc. I took my BP the other day (12 hours after the last tablet) and it still gave me the satisfactory reading of 122/75. The highest it seems to go now is about 140/85. Last year readings were around 150/98. I'm not so sure about taking lots of Coke (caffeine) to stay alert as someone suggested - doesn't this actually RAISE BP like smoking or alcohol? Good luck, stay well.

After taking 80 mg for about a year I noticed (after loosing
15 lbs) the following:
1) constant constapation
2) tingling in my hands.
3) weakness in fingers.
4) extreme taste degradation.
5) smell sensitivity.
After stopping zocor for 5 weeks symptoms 1,2,3
seems to have improved, taste is only marginaly
improved. I still can't take the smell of bleach
or gasoline, and coke tastes like acid.
I'm sure it is the xocor

I'm a 41 year old female in very good health- other than the obvious migraine problem that I have. I have been on topamax for 3 months and am now tapering off of it. I have had all of the side effects that others have experienced to the point that I can't continue taking the medication. My memory is horrible. I can't remember simple things, which is really causing problems at work. My mood is dull and lifeless, and all I want to do is, well, nothing. I'm not a big soda fan anyway, but now it tastes really awful. I noticed that almost immediately. And once in awhile I crave a coke, but can't drink one because it is nasty!!!
-- By mikid | Reply | Private Message meI have lost about five pounds, but I don't think I will lose any more since my appetite has returned. That's o.k., because that wasn't my goal anyway. The tingling in the hands, feet and face happens almost daily and feels like little tiny needles being stuck in me. It's actually quite painful sometimes. And, I have noticed blurriness in one of my eyes. This drug has not helped my migraines. We're trying something else. But either way, I would get off of this drug. It's not worth it to me. If you are considering it, I would think twice.
