After, being given medicine for a procedure I had last week. I started to get nausea and headaches. The meds where to be taken for 30 days. I had told the people at the surgical care that I had a sensitive stomach. But I guess they did not listened I rather have an infection instead of taking this. My bones ache and stopped take meds 2 days ago and still feel bad. I had cold chills and feel hot the next and spent the whole day throwing up until 3pm and now I feel exhausted and a little down. I will never ever take this meds again. This meds so many side affects they should have an alternative drug to take.

My doctor prescribed levaquin for a sinus infection AND possible stomach ulcer - kill 2 birds with one stone. Took one pill yesterday and had a rather quiet evening. Very difficult to wake up this morning, but got up anyway and headed to work. Found it VERY difficult to drive!! I was shocked - I didn't realize until I got part of the way to work that I was extremely spacey. Maybe the coffee I'm drinking this morning is spreading the drug around in my body / brain?? After arriving at work, felt even worse, and became very irritable. Want to just close my eyes and go to sleep! I have cold chills and I also feel very depressed and started to cry for NO reason. I called my doctor and she said to stop taking it right away.
As a side note - I have just started taking Femera (post cancer medicine) about 2 weeks ago and wonder if it's a combination of both of these drugs that is making me not feel well, or if it's just the Levaquin...I feel a lot worse emotionally today than I did yesterday, so for that fact alone, I know it's the Levaquin that's doing it.
I agree with other posters that I would not take this drug again unless it was absolutely necessary. The sinus headache was bad, but feeling like this is WORSE. I feel out of control and like an emotional wreck.

Hi, I am a 47 year old female and have been on Coumadin since Nov 1997 after developing several DVT's after surgery for a broken kneecap. Coumadin makes me feel like crap and the only time i have felt good in the last 11 years is when i have come off the medication for dental work or surgery. Some of my side effects are cold chills and cannot warm up, upset stomach, retaining fluid, heavy periods, added weight and my fat looks flabby even though i work out 4 times a week, lethargy, a very heavy neck on occasions and the list goes on and on. My coumadin has become very sensitive to what i put in my mouth. With "nutrients" added to so many foods i find i am now reading labels more than ever. The worst "nutrient" is Omega-3. This can cause bruising and bleeding without any help from Coumadin. Several deaths have been reported in the Australian media. I believe there is research being conducted in Norway using Kiwifruit as an alternative to Warfarin. I hope this is so and they are successful soon.

I took my first 500mg Niaspan ER at about 1130 after eating an apple. At 0115 I woke up and my body from head to toe was on fire internally. I got up out of bed went to the bathroom looked in the mirror. It looked like I had a bad sunburn from head to toe plus my face, arms, hands upper torso were swollen. I do not recall any increase in my heartbeat. I went to the ER and by the the time the doctor came around I was some better. I did experience severe itching and cold chills for a while. I did not know about the aspirin for help. Am awaiting further directions from my cardiologist. I have never experienced anything like this before.

I have been on the Nuvaring for nine days now. As my doctor instructed, I put it in the day I started my period. I am still bleeding with no signs of stopping. It's not heavy, but I am a bit worried. I have been feeling a little depressed lately and I feel like I want to cry for no reason. I'm not putting the Nuvaring down, I'm just worried about the length of my period. This is my first time using any kind of birth control so this is all new to me. If anyone has any information for me, that would be great.

This is my second time to use Topamax and I am having a different side affect now. I am getting very hot and breaking out in cold chills at the same time. The top of my head was so hot yesterday I had to wet it before I came to work. Has anyone been having problems like this? It says decreased sweating but mine is the opposite.I have the increased body temp. I thinkl.

I didn't pinpoint it until tonight, but after every dose I feel really hot for about an hour. No cold chills, though. And the first day I was on it, I had a terrible headache, but that could have also been due to the lortab, because I sat on something sharp and metallic and it hurt.

Hello All, My Levaquin nightmare began on June 18th, 2008. The side effects I had were so unbelievable, most of you, if not all of you will believe this. I had severe night sweats which would transfer over to a extreme cold chills, which would allow me to sweat like crazy. Bathed in Sweat. I thought there were small needles all around me and poking me everywhere. My feet, toes, knees and buttocks tingled like there was no tomorrow (and still are to this day). When and how can I make these side effects go away. I'm sick of them. I no longer have the night sweats or the bitter chills, I'm now totally aware of want is going on around me, while taking the med and several days after I couldn't even tell you my name. The bridge of my nose, and running across to my ears tingled like crazy and my ears rang all the time, and they still ring once in a while still. I need to know when this feeling of tingling in my hands, feet, knees, legs and humming in my ears will go a way. Help! I think this drug needs to taken off the market. I took a total of 17 pills. My first scripted was for 15 days and by not knowing any better less then a week later and another doctors appointment, and one more script, which I filled. I took two pills from that bottle. My husband called the doctor and she told him this wasn't normal. She told him that I was to stop the med asap, which I did and I'm still having these awful tingling. If anyone, anyone has any suggestion of how to get those med out of my system I would certainly appreciate it. God Bless each and every one of you. May you all find relief.

I had Mirena put in July 6, 2007. It was 2 months after the birth of my son. I felt wonderful before it was put in. I was excited about being a mom to child number two and surprised at my energy level. Three weeks after getting mirena on July 28, 2007 I went to church feeling normal when suddenly I started having severe cold chills. I had to leave the service. It was hot that day and I went outside and sat in the hot sun. I couldn't get warm enough, I laid flat on the hot sidewalk to absorb the heat. Next I put on a sweatshirt, then a jacket, next I sat in a hot car until I got sick from the heat. I got nauseous and a horrible headache from the heat. When church let out we drove home. I slept for two days straight. When I finally got out of bed I was dizzy. I stayed dizzy until yesterday--two days after I had my IUD removed, One year after having it put in. I also had many other symptoms including the following: extreme fatigue, slurred speech, loss of coordination, numbness-tingling-burning sensations-in my limbs, blurry vision, brain fog, inability to comprehend simple questions such as "what is your name?", excruciating muscle pain and stiffness, joint pain, depression, short temperedness, acne, bloating, decreased sex drive, sinus congestion, shortness of breath, psoriasis, and probably more. I didn't think the IUD was responsible because I was told it was virtually side effect free and that the hormone in it was "localized" and didn't circulate through the body. Because of that misinformation I can say that this has been the hardest year of my life. I started out bonding wonderful with my newborn son, however it is hard to bond with a newborn when you are so dizzy you feel like you will drop him. Let alone the fact that I couldn't see straight, had no coordination, and was extremely tired among my many other problems. I'm not saying we didn't bond, we did, it was just so challenging. The only way I could was to lay still with him. I am usually a fun and energetic person and my baby didn't get to see much of that during the first year of his life:(. I wish I had been informed about the possible side effects or at least been treated like it could be a possible cause. Instead, I was told there was absolutely no way my Mirena could be causing my side effects. Well, now I know otherwise because every symptom I listed above has either gone away completely since I had the Mirena taken out or at least subsided dramatically. It has only been out for three days. Another thing that causes me concern is that for the first couple months of my sons life he was a very happy baby and very content. A couple of weeks after I got the IUD he became a very fussy baby. At first I thought it was colic because it was around the age that babies get colic. The fussiness lasted until I stopped breastfeeding him. I have a feeling he was having some side effects also. I wish I would have researched the Mirena more. I actually wish I had prayed about it because I have a feeling I was supposed to. I just want to say that if you or someone you know is having any health issues and they have the Mirena, please have it taken out before you do anything else. It may save you a lot of grief. I have been to the doctor so much. I have had my thyroid tested, blood tests, seen a neurologist, diabetes test, been back and forth to my doctor and a chiropractor for the muscle and joint issues I had. All I needed to do was lose the Mirena. I was told I most likely had Lupus, fibromyalgia, or MS. I am so angry at this point. Why can't they just say that it is a possibility that Mirena could cause all the side effects people are having. My children would have had so many more good memories if I had been told that. Good luck ladies! I hope Bayer finds itself in a class action lawsuit and all the doctors learn something from it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting find, I put in Warfarin, hair loss, because my hair is thinning out quite rapidly. It has changed texture (unruly and thin), and it has virtually stopped growing. I am experiencing migraine like headaches which I have not had for 20+ years. I have constant stomach trouble, cold chills in the evening where I cannot warm up (my nose goes freezing cold). I am very fatigued. I do believe my short term memory has also been affected which dramatically. The drug scares me to death (?).

I've been on the ring for 2 weeks, living hell and irrational decisions sums it up. Not to mention I can totally feel the ring during sex, it almost feels like my vag is on fire it burns so bad. It has increased by appetite rapidly and my boobs are so sore I can barely stand it without a bra. In the beginnning I had cold chills in my home where it is AC the others in the house were burning up were as I was in a hoodie under a blanket during summer. I have no motivation to do anything for myself anymore, I feel hopeless. I'm about to take this damn thing out. You should take yours out as well.
Take care.

A decrease/change in vaginal lubrication is a change with oral-contraceptives. See a couple of entries below your entry on side effects of Yasmin. Many women have complained of loss of libido on Yasmin. Given how many other problems women here and on the new site in the UK have experienced, I cannot reccommend Yasmin or its sister pill Yaz at all as they have created very serious problems for many women including myself. I personally would recommend getting off it and finding a more traditional pill, or off the hormones altogether if you can and practice a more natural/non-hormonal method.
Yasmin generally helps women with acne which it did with me so you are experiencing sounds unusual. Another reason on top of many others to get off of it.
Look 2-3 entries below your entry and read the insert that comes with Yasmin-if you are experiencing chills and fever like symptoms-you should contact your Doctor immediately. This is not normal. Many women have had this happen actually-Yasmin and Yaz have some terrible life threatening and very serious health effects.
So, I'd say get off of it. Check the U.K site Flowerbabies set up. you'll see what kinds of problems Yasmin is creating.
I have been on Yasmin for a little less then a month. Since I have been on it my husband and I haven't not had sex, not once!! Before Yasmin we had a great sex life and now it's like, what's sex?? I have pimples the size of dimes that are nasty and I break out all the time. I gained probably about five pounds in less then a month. I get cold chills and fever-like symptoms and I really hate it so far. My husband just hates that we never have sex anymore. Is loss of sex drive one of the symptoms? I was reading about it and I guess my other ones are normal, but I read nothing about loss of sex drive. I'm 20 and a newly wed...I should want i should want to do it every day!!

I had been on NuvaRing about a week. After around 3 or 4 days, I started noticing a huge increase in discharge, followed by nausea and dramatic mood swings. I was kind of starting to scared I was pregnant, but then I found this site. I'm starting to wonder if the symptoms were caused by the ring. I took it out last night, and woke up with the most severe nausea I have felt yet and I am also achy all over and getting cold chills despite the warm room. Has anyone else had these problems when going off the ring? How long did it take for your body to get back to normal?
Please contact me at *****. I'm seriously worried and would like to talk to someone who's been through this before.

I have taken Geodon for a few years and thought the drug worked well. I had less psychotic ideation. The dosage has increase slowly over the years and I felt even better when I went from 3 60 mg pills per day to 3 80 mg pills per day. I also take Concerta 52 mg, Wellbutrin XL 270 mg, Klonopin 20 mg at night, Claritin D, fish oil, flax seed oil. The only odd side effects are a diminished orgasm and cold chills in my chest. The cold chills have subsided since I increased to 240 mg per day. I seem to be very dependent on Geodon because if I am late on a dosage, I feel miserable. My memory is not very good and I used to have an excellent memory. Most of the comments I read have been negative. I believe that overall, my experience with Geodon has been good.

After a bout of bronchitis, I continued to experience respiratory difficulties. I scheduled an appointment with my allergy physician, and due to continued wheezing in my lungs and persistent coughing, she prescribed Levaquin, 750 MG, one time daily. I read the possible side affects and did not realize the full array of possible complications associated with administration of this medication. After one dosage, I began experiencing insomnia, extreme aching and swelling of my ankles and knees, extreme hot flashes/cold chills. Yesterday, I fell when geting out of bed due to the tightness and swelling of my legs. I have slept only a few hours during the past seven days. After reading the documentation on the website of the complications reported by over 1200 individuals, I have discontinued taking the medication with only one pill left. I am extremely concerned about the possible long term damage to my body. I have a daughter with disabilities who requires my care and assistance.

I was given Sulfameth along w/ Flagyl for what my Dr. thought was diverticulitis. The pain (diverticulitis) went away by the fourth day of meds but on the fifth day I had other things going on. I thought I had the flu. I kept getting extremely hot (but didn't have a fever), then cold chills. My lower back ached terrible along w/ a major headache and I had never been so nausious in my life w/o vomitting. I couldn't even look at food or even sip water w/o feeling extremely ill. I was constipated as well. I kept making excuses for it all saying I must have the flu instead of suspecting the drugs I was on. On the 8th day I returned to the doctor and by now I was completely broke out and my face, ears and back of my upper arms felt like they were on fire. He knew immediately that it was a reaction to this drug! He advised me to stop taking both meds I was prescribed but didn't offer me any options for relief from the burning. I found spraying Solarcaine on my arms helped alot. I feel for everyone who has ever experienced this type or any type of reaction and for those who haven't...may you never have to.

iIhave taken ultracet/ ultram before and had the same reactions. Last night I had nothing else to take for my awful awful headache, so I had to take the ultracet. First of all it did not ease the headache at all. I woke up this morning and felt like I had the jitters, I got hot and started sweating, then I started vomiting. Now my head feels like I am in a tunnel and I have cold chills. Anything with quick movement makes my head spin and I have to vomit again! If I had not known what this medicine made me do before I would have went to the ER, but fortunatly I know just to wait it out and hopefully it will be out of my system soon.

I was on Toprol 40mg for a little less than 2 years. During that time, I've experienced panic attacks which led to driving phobia, cold chills, decreased sex drive, vivid dreams, constant fatigue, unsteadiness, disorientation, and weight gain regardless of decreased food intake and exercise. My bp seem to have benefited from it, but at a cost of these other side effects. My MD recently switched me from Toprol 40mg to Avapro 150mg. The switch seem to be a good move. For those of you who are experiencing major side effects, you might want to consider alternative beta blockers other than Toprol.

My symptoms are much like others described. I was prescribed Bactrim for a recurring UTI. I have never taken it before and have never been aware of any drug allergy. I took the Bactrim two times a day for five days. On the fifth day I began to develop a fever, with very cold chills, then very hot. The lymph nodes in my neck and the back of my head swelled up that evening and were painful when pressed. The next day I stayed home from work and my temp was up to 100.1. By evening that second day, I had developed rashes on my elbows and feet. They were itchy and raised. The next morning, which is today, the rash has spread to my shoulders, arms and thighs. It is not raised, but is a mass of small red dots. My face is also very red, and I think that my lips feel swollen. It has been good to read here that these are likely the result of the Bactrim. Much better info here than I got by calling the pharmacist! The only reason I looked in to it being a reaction is that my mother in law has had allergies to sulpha drugs, and has mentioned rashes. I agree that it is also interesting to here that it has happened to others either after the prescription had finished, or right around that 5 or 6 day mark.
