My name is Logan and I am a health care worker. I started taking Lipitor a bout a year and a half ago. I only took it for approx. one month. I do not usually take medication of any sorts. I got fooled into taking the drug. It was not explained to me the side effects. I started hurting in my Rt. elbow. I was then said to have tennis elbow. Because of the work that I do. I have never had pain before. I had cortazone shot and it lasted for a few months. I have sinse then gradually got my stregnth back to being able to raise my arm without being in pain. I have sinse then been taking alovera juice daily. I have no pain, and I stay off drugs.
I also have a sister that had been taking the same medication for approx a year and a half and she is curently in the I.C.U from a tumor that formed in her stomach and was removed a year ago. She has the supposedly rareist form of sacarma. I talked to a person in the waiting room and she was there for her dying father, but said that she had an operation three weeks ago of sacarma. and she also lost her Lt. kidney just like my sister. I was courious, so I asked her if she was on any colestrol lowering medication. she said that she was on Lipitor for 2 years and is still on it. She said that she was also a Pharmist. She said that it was not the Lipitor. I beg the difference. I would like to know how many others out here that has problems like this. Will they just continue to cover it up?

My doctor put me on Zocor this spring becuase my colestrol level was a little high. After about 3 weeks of taking it I started getting pain in my left arm and then it started in my right arm and legs within 2 days. I called my doctor and told him about it. He said to stop taking the Zocor for a week and if the pain went a way to try 1/2 a pill. Well the pain still hasn't gone away and it is almost Thanksgiving already. I have been very rundown and weak but am managing to get things done so far. I hope this helps others in some way.

Does anyone out there suffer from stomach pains and "the runs" when taking singular. I also take a colestrol medication. Going off the singular and see if the pain stops. Please e-mail me if you too have this problem.

I'm a 54 year old female prescribed 10 mg zocor(simvastatin) for slightly elevated cholesterol. Took it for 7 months before I clued in to the cause of my many symptoms. Muscle and joint pain, head fog, blurry vision, weight gain, stomach upset, fatigue, etc... The muscle and joint pain were excruciating at times --especially in my left hip...which had gotten so bad I needed a walking stick for support. I felt so darn old wondering if I would even feel normal again.

I am curious as to the withdrawal effects others may have experienced. The first week coming off I had stomach aches and I had awful headaches which thankfully did stop. The stomach aches and touchy digestive system still plague me though. Am I the only one experiencing this?....
