II'm a 54 year old male and I've been taking Lisinopril for about 24 months for moderately high BP (135/85). Initially, I was fatigued late morning, but that seemed to go away in a month or two. Having a previous back condition, I didn't blame the tightness in my glutes and legs on the pill or the extreme morning soreness, but now I wonder. Also, in six months I gained about 50 pounds with no change in lifestyle (205 to 255). I read in a few of the Drug Co. sites that this is a rare effect, but not in any postings here. Anyone else have this problem?
I also seem to have developed an explosive type of temper that I don't recall before, blowing up at minor things, then it quickly passes. Anybody?
Where the drug initially lowered my BP to 120/75, with the weight gain I need the drug to keep it in the neighborhood of the original problem (140/85). If I miss a dose it spikes to 170/115 or higher, so I'm basically forced to take it or another BPM where originally I had a very minor problem. I thought this was a common pill that was described as relatively benign, but I' starting to realize that's not the case at all.

Most of the "side effects" are die off responses (sometimes referred to as a herxheimer response similar to that which occurs when treating syphillis) from bartonella or borrelia. Levaquin is a potent intracellular antibiotic...where these and other organisms can hide. These can be subclinical infections where (at this time) you are not even aware you are infected. If your "side effects" start around the 3rd day into your prescription...rejoice...and suffer for a while, you are killing something really bad.

I was taking Ortho-Tricyclen low for a year and everything was fine. I had no side effects. Recently I told my doctor that I feel my hormones have gone down drastically and I haven't been in the romantic mood with my BF. I figured my daily routines may have changed something in my body. So she gave me 3 packs of Microgestin FE 1.5/30 and told me that would boost up my hormones A LOT. So far, after finishing the last pack, nothing. I mean NOTHING. All of a sudden I got the common cold perhaps the flu and now receiving lower back pain. The first night it was on the right only and now its only on the left side. Could this be a side effect to the pill???

I'm not sure if this is related to Singulair 5mg. chewable, but now that I've been reading everyone's experiences, I fear that it may. My 7 yr. old has been taking Singulair 5mg chewable tablets these past 2 years. He takes it during the months of Sept. to October. His pulmonologist has not determined whether or not he is an asthmatic or not. When he would get a common cold, he would almost always cough as if he had the croup and he would need to use a nebulizer with Pulmicort. The Singulair worked great. He hasn't needed the Pulmicort for almost a year now and colds this year were limited to two minor sniffles.
My son just started experiencing sharp pains on the left side of his chest. They would come quick and hard and disappear within 2-3 seconds. We immediately rushed him to the Emergency Room. He had experienced 5 quick episodes during Sunday, February 10th. The first 3 were spaced out about 20 minutes apart. the fourth was about an hour apart and the 5th and last occurred 2 hours after. The ER conducted a chest x-ray and an EKG, Neither showed any abnormalities. He felt a quick pain today, which is Tuesday. He has an appointment with a cardiologist on Wednesday morning. Now that I have read a number of postings, I am frightened. My son has not only experienced pains in his chest on the left side, but night sweats. occasional leg cramps. nightmares and is extra sensitive to emotional situations.
I'm pulling him off Singulair. Last night was his last dosage.

I went to my doctor last week for symptoms of a common cold or a flu. I was given free samples (5) of Levaquin and haven't felt better yet, six days later. I only took four of the pills and will never take it again. My head is constantly feeling like it's floating in space and my sense of taste has changed. I called her back about my faintness and was told to get plenty of rest and drink alot of liquids. I've been in and out of bed since Thursday; how much rest do I need?! I'm concerned about the taste change because several things that I like alot don't taste right to me anymore. Levaquin will never again enter my body!

ditto, flowerbabies.
An exact replica of what happened to me with yasmin.
Found the site you recommended and it answered some of my questions.
Looks like i have what is known as a luteal phase defect.
Completely treatable, thank goodness.
Thanks for the advice. Am due to have my first hcg injection on 4th dec. Watch this space. Doctor said it is like my system has gone to sleep and needs to be woken up.
I suppose that is what pills like yasmin do. Suppress your own hormones and replace them with artificial ones. I think it was flowerbabies who said that if your own hormones are balanced anyway this is not good.
The doctor i am seeing now, i trust completely as he does not advocate use of the contraceptive pill for everything including the common cold.
That has been my problem all along. Listening to doctors telling me to persevere with the pill.

I have been on 5mg of lisiniprol for 6 months now and although my BP has reduced I have really bad sore pain in the lower inestine, always worse through the night followed by very loose stools the next morning. I have a slight cough but i have noticed that when i get a common cold, the sore throat symptoms go on for weeks and have turned into ulcers.
I would love to find a BP tablet that didn't upset my digestive system

I am not sure which of my medicine is causing side affects, so I was checking this site to see what other people had to say. In the last four years I have had face pressure off and on, shoulder, neck and back aches--now my legs in the last two weeks have started to ache bad. I am on levothyroxine0.05mg once a day, paxil 12.5 mg, adavant.05mg, and 1/2 atenol daily. I take on an average of 6--200 mgs of ibpropan daily also. Maybe it is a combination of the drugs. Had sinus surgery in 2000 and have had terrible ringing in my ears since then, with pain in my face from a damaged nerve from surgery. I am 59 years old and until 2000 have never been sick with anything only a common cold now and then. HELP!!!! Thanks Gloria

I was prescribed Levaquin 500 mg daily for a persistent sinus infection
-- By sgroi | Reply | (2) replies | Private Message methirteen days ago. I am rarely worried about taking a drug my doctor prescribed but after reading the precautions and side effects I was concerned. I decided to wait until I checked with some doctor friends of mine who said not to worry because if even one person in a million has a problem they must post it. Now I'm so sorry I listened to them. My hands
are so swollen and feel prickly and painful. They have been like this for the last three hours, which is the reason I went online for information about this drug. Now I realize why my legs have been so painful and why it's so hard to use my legs to squt down and then stand. For days now I have
had trouble with my legs hurting as I go up and down the stairs in my house (lots of stairs!). I am very fit, 110 lb., take yoga and have a extremely active lifestyle so I knew something was odd but kept
thinking it would go away. I try not to be a whiner! I also had (have) sweating and itching (even behind my knees), back pain and neck pain. Last night I only slept 3 hours and felt anxiety so I just got up and started working. I finally had the time and tons of snow here to go sking but I just felt too weak to go! No wonder I felt (feel) depressed!!!!
UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO DIE WITHOUT THIS DRUG DON'T
TAKE IT! I can't believe this is used as a out patient medicine, I would
think it would be used as a last resort before death in a hospital!
