I was on yaz for close to 4-5 years. I started taking antibiotics and my husband and I became pregnant while on the pill. We were well aware of chances of becoming pregnant. From the day I found out i was pregnant I started throwing up. I LOST 15 pounds during my pregnancy due to being sick all of the time. I had constant heartburn and choked all of this up to being pregnant with a little girl with a head full of black hair! The day my husband was suppose to go back to work from his leave (exactly 2 weeks after having my baby) i started throwing up at about 3am due to intense stomach pain that radiated into my chest and back and couldn't stop. He stayed home. The next day it happened again, my husband assumed i had postpartum depression and told me i would be fine and left for work. I tried to go back to bed but couldn't stop throwing up long enough to go into the next room and check on my crying newborn. I had to beg him to come home from work, we got a babysitter, went to the hospital, they did an ultrasound and admitted me. 12 hrs later I was on the operating table having my gallbladder removed. I now suffer with DAILY diarrhea immediately after I eat ANYTHING and stomach pain. I try to stick to a low fat diet but it doesn't help!!!! i have constant stomach pain, headaches, nausea and heartburn. Not to mention the FOUR scars that i have from the surgery. When i started taking Yasmin and eventually yaz NOWHERE did it say that it could cause gallbladder disease!

I had Mirena placed when my husband got back from Iraq. That was 5 years ago this month. All those years, I loved that I didn't have to worry about periods or birth control. Unfortunately, I had to worry about everything else. I blamed everything on stress. Learning to be a family again when my husband got home was hard. Then, we had no income for a year after he left the Army. Then, he got a new job and we moved and I went back to school. Stress, stress, stress. I blamed my weight gain on stress. I blamed my constant heartburn and acid indigestion on the weight gain. I had joint issues that I also blamed the weight for. I had chest pains and actually was afraid I was having a heart attack--I'm only 36 now. I thought being fat was the reason for that too.

I figured I just needed to lose 50 pounds. I'd go to the gym and get on track. I was hardly eating anything, since everything made me sick. I'd plan to go to the gym, but the next day, (I don't work, just go to school online), I'd have no energy. I would stay in bed for hours. I stopped cleaning my house, didn't care what my kids ate for dinner. I stopped doing my hobbies. I was so depressed. I saw one other lady here had said that she HATED her husband and he hadn't done anything! Ditto!!! I was ready to file for divorce and the poor guy wasn't even in town!!! He was on a business trip!

I had the Mirena taken out April 1. Yesterday, I went to the doc to confirm (though I already knew it) that my blood pressure was dangerously low. (84/52) I'm not allowed to drive, shower, stand for any length of time... This happens to me when I get sick or my immune system takes a hit. Since I'm having bleeding similar to what others are, I assume that's the problem and my BP will hopefully go up in the next couple of days.
However, I'm happy. That is something I never was before. I'm still tired, but I'm not sleeping on a regular schedule yet.

The biggest thing that no one has mentioned yet is HUNGER!! I'm SOoooo hungry. The day after removal, I woke with my stomach growling. I don't remember the last time my stomach growled! I can't seem to eat enough, though I'm scared to gain more weight! I'm thinking maybe my metabolism is going back to normal??!! Anyway, anyone else had this?

K.

I am 39 years old and have been on Omeprazole for 6 years. I have had the worst year ever. I was always a healthy and fit guy until 2008. I had chronic headaches and extreme fogginess which led to me having an MRI and seeing a chiro(all negative). I had chronic chest pain which led to EKG's, stress tests, ER visits, and tons of blood work ranging from cardiac, glucose, liver, renal, thyroid, etc...(all negative). Did gastroscopy and found esophagitis and gastritis. Upped the dosage of Omeprazole. Then I started getting tremors, muscle cramping, muscle pain, fatigue, blotchy red skin, and continued fogginess and lightheaded.

Did I mention i still have constant heartburn despite all the Omeprazole. I have done everything...tilt up head of bed, bland diet, no coffee or alcohol, no eating late evening etc....

Doctor put me on Fluoxetine (Prozac) for all my stress and anxiety from these crazy symptoms. After seeing this site and reading all your testimonies I am now thinking it is from the Omeprazole!!! Scary thought to stop since my chest pain and heartburn can be pretty severe and constant. What do I do? Feel like I'm caught between a rock and a hard place here.

after serious weighing of the pros and cons of this IUC, my husband and i have decided to have it removed. I have an appointment on 3/20. i will let you know of the effects of the removal as well as an update on the release of side effects. I am hoping to be relieved of most within the first 3 months. hopefully i will loose weight, gain better skin, start new hair growth, be relieved of my daily constant heartburn, clear up my constant yeast infections, become less dry, and my husbands favorite, TAKE BACK my sex life. again, i will keep you updated on my recovery.

as for our new form of birth control; we are staying away from hormones. we are going to trust condoms and spermicide, along with watching my ovulation cycle. this will be much more thought then i have had to put into the Mirena, but it will not only help me feel normal again, but strengthen my marriage. to all of you that are wondering if you should remove it, my thought is yes. i miss my old self and i want to regain the control of my body from this terrible device that seemed so wonderful at first. thank you to everyone who posted. you have confirmed to me that it is the IUC and not me.

I am a 44 yr. old female. I have been taking Advair for about a month. I have to say that it is wonderful that I can finally breathe but the leg cramps and constant heartburn that I have never experienced before is unreal. The weight gain is becoming an embarrassment as everyone I come in contact with comments or asks if I am pregnant. After experiencing breast secreations, I checked and that was a negitive. My 8 year old loves it that most of the time I am too hoarse to give orders. That is when I can finally pull myself out of a much needed doze or nap. The sweet me has disappeared and the wicked witch has taken over as I am always moody, depressed and tired. I too have experienced flu like symptoms, ringing in my ears and insomnia. Advair along with the Singuliar has made life on the breathing end very good, but on the health end the pits.

I started using advair in early December 2006. The first month was great, no asthma symptoms, no side effects. However, after the second month (I am a very healthy female, exept for the asthma), I got pneumonia, chronic sinus infections, night sweats, dry mouth (especially at night), chest pain, swollen glands in neck, constant heartburn, anxiety, cystic acne, leg cramping. I weaned myself off the drug after doing more research on it. I was only on 100/50 once a day. I have been put on singulair for a few days now and feel great. I attribute all these symptoms to Advair use. It is not for everybody and those who use it should be well informed of these side effects. It made my life a living hell.
