I have taken Boniva for 2 months now. The first month I felt flu like symptoms and joint pain. My left shoulder and neck have pain continually but I did not think it was from Boniva - now I think it is.

My shoulder is much worse today after taking Boniva yesterday - along with the worse pain, I have a terrible headache, flu, chills, etc. I am going to call my Dr. tomorrow and let him know I don't feel I should continue to take it. I will start exercising more, eating more foods that can help my bones and will take more vitamins.

I was treated with lamictal for bi-polar II . It did help even out my mood which swung to deep depressions and rare (unfortunately) hypomania. After an increase in dose I had so much pain in my back and hip joints that I needed help to sit down, stand up, tie shoes, lift anything. I am only 40!

I stopped the med in June, but the pain is still there. Continually, not as bad as it was before, for sure, but I still have to prop myself up for simple lean over tasks, and my hip joints throb. I have to support myself to flip in bed or get out. I was doing yoga, and running as well before I started lamictal. I was extremely flexible!, and now can still barely touch my toes.

has anyone else had this lingering pain?

I am a 44 year old male. I was taking Lipitor for the past 2 years because my LDL cholesterol level had continually increased to a high of 315. My doctor felt it was best to have me take 10 mg of the drug once a day. After about 3 months I started to have really bad joint pain in my hips, lower back and gluts. I was misdiagnosed and I ended up received physical therapy and a few cortisone shots in my lower back. It still was not getting better so I began to analyze my body to try and figure why this was happening and looked up side effects from cholesterol so I stopped taking the Lipitor and sure enough the pain went away.

on zocor since dec 2006, i have alot of other medical problems, arthritis, fused foot, very bad lower back and some osteoporesis, but i believe more so, than not; that my symptoms increased after a change in dosage. now i'm very tired, extreme muscle weakness, knee pain, having trouble walking, weight gain (10 lbs in last 2 months) and unbelievable swelling in ankles and top of foot, very painful
It's hard to blame zocor on this, but i don't just want to wear compression socks and so forth, because that could be masking the cause, and maybe just a change in lipid medication will change things around. it's a vicious circle, cant work out or walk, to tired to do anything, but work 14 hours a day, it's such an effort to walk (I keep blaming the weight gain) but maybe its really the swelling and joint pain along with the muscle weakness that's to fault.

I have beenon lipitor for more than five years. I now have unbearable pains in my shoulders which are only relieved with antiinflammatories. I also have pains in my right foot which is sometimes very difficult to walk on. My Dr says ok go off lipitor but risk heart attack/stroke. I am getting to the point that the pain is so debilitating that Idon't care.

I had been taking topamax for 4 weeks. I'm not sure when but sometime during this time I noticed I was getting a uti. I saw a doctor and he started me on cipro for 3 days. When I finished the meds I noticed the infection had not cleared up so I went back to the doctor and they told me I didn't have any infection, but I was still uncomfortable and in pain. So I decided to stop the topamax. After a couple of weeks the pain went away. Did anyone else have this or a similar side effect?

I am so glad that I found this site. I've been using the ring now for 3 months continually. I just don't want to have a period anymore and my doc seemed to think this was a better option that an IUD. Well ever since I've started my depression is worse!!! (I have post partum). I just went to see my doc about adjusting my meds. I've also had severe vaginal irritation and a raging yeast infection. And let me tell you about sex. there's been none of that going on and my husband is starting to get pissy. This is just not worth the frustration. The only problem is that I just had my script refilled for anouther 3 months. I just hate to think of losing the $45 I just paid. But mental health and a happy husband is definetly worth it.

This website probably saved my 9-year-old's life. He started taking Singulair in August following three major asthma attacks (his first). When he started having anxiety problems we believed it post traumatic stress as he knew he could have died in August. However the anxiety got much worse.

By November he wouldn't leave me (he had previously been extremely happy and confident). He cried continually and didn't know why. By December he was deeply depressed, wouldn't sleep or go upstairs, was frightened continually but didn't know why. By mid-Jan he had simply had enough and wanted to die. He talked of death continuously.

At that point I found this website and took him off Singualir. Within 2 days, my son who hadn't smiled for 2 months, was running around with the dog smiling, saying how beautiful a sunny day was, and could think without crying. On night five he had terrible withdrawal symptoms, walls and furniture appeared to move, and he screamed to be taken to the hospital as he couldn't control his mind. We sat it out. The next day he was better.

That was five weeks ago. All the fear has gone, all the deep sadness. He went back to sleeping in his own bed on night 7 and hasn't looked back. Yesterday he went back to school having been off for 2 months - only five weeks ago he told me he would die if I left him at school, now he's happy to be back.

This drug is very, very dangerous. I honestly believe if my son had been older he would have committed suicide. I warn every parent out there to watch their children on this drug, it can affect the mind terribly.

The thought of giving Singulair to young children who cannot explain how they feel horrifies me.

I have been on lisinopril for about 2 months now. I have been reading all of the other side effects and they are similar to mine. I don't have any itching, but I do have the constant "tickle" in my throat and the cough. I also see "spots". This has happened about once a week, I see a continually moving "ring" in one eye or the other. It forms and gradually dissappears. I don't know if this is from the lisinopril or from the metformin that I also take. I was on Toprol xl, had no side effects, but the Dr. didn't think my blood pressure was quite low enough. I also feel so fatigued, I can't even do my job without taking frequent breaks! Now that I have read these other letters, I am going to call my Dr. and get off of this stuff!

I am on 200mg of Zoloft. I started it last January, and have slowly increased my dosage to find the correct dosage. I am starting to feel anxiety again, and feel as though your body gets used to the meds, and you continually need a higher dosage. I am jittery, have insomnia, have very vivid dreams, tremors, my eyes tremor when I try to close them and I see flashes of light, when I nod my head down towards my chest it tremors, i am restless, it has made my add worse, it causes slight weight gain, muscle twitching...it worked fine, but the higher the dose, the worse the side effects, and here I am with anxiety again. I suppose I need to switch my meds - maybe try lexapro. But definitely get a new psychiatrist.

I have been on Yasmin for almost a year now and I love it! The only side effects for me have been a clearer complexion and firmer boobs. I had some tendency towards headaches around the third and fourth month, and also am inclined to pee more, but that's it. As far as anxiety goes -- I feel that the pill actually HELPS me to stay on an 'even keel.' I say this as someone who was treated for depression continually throughout high school and college. It has done a LOT to help abate very icky seasonal affectation symptoms that I've had for years.

I am surprised by what I'm reading here but all I can say is that -- each pill effects women differently. I sypathsize with people who might have had ill effects but, if there's a class action suit, I sure as HECK hope it doesn't push the pill off the market, cause I LOVE it.

Flowerbabies,
Thank you so much for you response! I have been really worried that something more severe might be going on, but have to keep reminding myself that these symptoms started when I started taking Yasmin!!!!! I hate that pill....it has really screwed me up. The dizziness is the same for me as you described. Sometimes it is just brief periods and then other times it will last on and off all day. I have started taking b6 and magnesium. I was also given this herbal pill called holy basil(it is helful for restoring balance). So far I really like them and can see some progression. I am going to get my progesterin and estrogen levels checked as well as talk to my doctor about estrogen dominance. I went to the doctor 3 times before I figured out what was going on and found this website?? What really made me mad was how my ob reacted. She was telling me that I might have depression/anxiety problems!!??!? It made me so angry that I have switched doctors. Anyways, Thank you so much for responding and encouraging me to keep the faith. This website is really the only thing that reminds me that it will get better!!! I hope you continually feel better!! Thank you again!

I have been on Neurontin for over 10 years. I am taking Neurontin for PHN. When I was first given Neurontin, I could not take the med. as prescribed. I too would fall asleep. It took a whole year before my body adjusted to the med. I now take 2700 mg. daily. Along with Tramadol. I have the rare side effects but can not quit taking the med. for fear of having a more severe pain if I don't take the meds. I have recently noticed the weight gain. I continually think I have other things wrong with me, but when reading the side effects, I fit almost all the symtoms. Low back pain, bloated full feeling, body aches, buring eyes, change in vision, clumsiness, constipation, decrease in sexual desire, eye discharge, increased sensitivity to pain and touch, indigestion, nervousness, redness, trouble thinking, and loss of strength.

i am a 17 y/o girl who was put on this medicine to stop continually vomitting and nausea. i have been on it for around 4 weeks now, my vomitting has lightened up a bit (previously it was 10+ times a day, now its down to less than 5), but i have experienced, horrible diarriah, excessive tiredness, muscle stiffness and aches, and coldness. i have also experienced loss of appetite with about a 10lb weight loss so far, that which i am not complaining about, because during the years i was constanly vomitting, i actually gained close to 35lbs, and i have another condition that causes me not to be able to lose weight. so i am debating wether or not the bad side effects out weigh the good.

I have taken lisinopril since 1994 (20 mg) and have had a hacky cough continually to which I contributed to allergy. Last month the coughing got considerably worse and I went to my doctor complaining that it was not only tiring but most embarrassing at times. He took me off the lisinopril and put me on tiazac and the coughing has left. Also on the lisinopril my heart rate was high all the time and my pressure also ran at borderline. Now my pressure is down to 127/82 and pulse down to 67 and I feel so much better it is unbelievable. I think lisinopril is not right for many people!

Like many other users, my voice is affected by Advair. I constantly feel the need to clear my throat, but it has no effect.

My greater concern arose when I indavertently ran out and had to wait 7-10 days for a refill. For that period, I found that my left ear was weeping continually, blocking my hearing. Upon resumption of the Advair, it stopped. I told my doctor and he had never heard it before.

The drug enclosure does list "ear signs" as a side effect, presumably of taking the drug, not of ceasing it. Now, though I find it expensive and feel I would rather do without it and use my albuterol inhaler as needed, I am afraid to stop.

I have taken Fluoxetine for Depression/Panic Disorder for approximately 4 years, prior to that I had taken Paxil with terrifing results. On Paxil, I had terrible nightmares, sleeplessness and irratability. However, since changing to Fluoxetine I have been doing great. I still have occasional sleepless nights or difficulty staying asleep. I will start in the middle of the night to wake, I can usually go back to sleep within a few moments, but to do this continually through the night can defeat a good nights rest.

Also, since I am a female I have noticed that Fluoxetine has helped with PMDD, (Premenstral problems) however if I skip a dose accidentally or not, then I'm an emotional basket case. And these emotional distruptions can last up to a week or more. Just thought other women would like the info.

I was prescribed Sulfameth for a UTI 6 pills for 3 days. I have allergies to most anibioics, so I was a little nervous taking this medication. I have had non stop nausia for the past 3 days, I took my last pill yesterday morning and I once again have nausia this morning... I have also been suffering from heartburn. The discomfort from the UTI is almost gone, but I have been taking gravol (anti nausiant) as well as tums continually to battle the heartburn....wondering if I should go back to my doctor as I still have slight pain...

ok, i am warning you in advance that this is kinda long, but i wanted to explain a little rather than just list how i was affected. the effects happened gradually at first and then all of a sudden got worse.

i was on yasmin for just over 2 years. i started taking it shortly before i got married and at first i noticed that i hated everyone and everything around me but figured that it was due to starting a BCP for the first time. after a month, i was ok.

about last year april, my father in law who is a gynecologist said that continually taking the active pills would be ok and then every 3 packs or so to stop and have a period. ok fine, that is what i did. i thought things were fine until july when i noticed that i was starting to have all this hate towards my husband yet i still loved him. i thought it was just stress from us both trying to finish school, me working full time and him not working. around august, i got a bit happier. not sure why. during the rest of the year, from september throuogh december, i went back and forth in my head trying to figure out why i was so mad and depressed all the time...was it me? or my husband? or just life in general?my family and feriends could see that i was no longer happy and just wasn't the angel they knew. i seriously considered leaving my husband because i thought it was all stress because of him. fortunately, i decided to wait until january to see how i felt then. i didnt want to just hurry up and get divorced only to regret it later.

january came and i got worse. i started crying because i didnt know what to do. i almost lost my job because they didnt like me "coming to work with all my 'home' problems". they didnt think i kept work and home separate. around february is when i noticed the nausea thing. my husband and i went to target one night and ate some pizza before doing our shopping. while we were wandering around, i felt extremely sick. i either had to sit down right now in the middle of the aisle or go to the bathroom. this happened a few times so i blamed it on the greasy pizza - maybe my stomach couldn't handle it anymore.

i found this site last week monday. i took my pill that morning but havent taken one since. after reading all the problems other people had been experiencing, i knew i had to stop. i started talking to a friend about it; she said to stop. so did my husband. i called my sister who was also on yasmin. she stopped. things from the past year all started to make sense. things i never even considered would be caused by taking yasmin every day. having me and my sister both on it probably made a lot of people in our lives wonder why we were so crazy. as i read through this site, i realized just how many things in my life were being affected. the symptoms/side effects i noticed are:

depression
extremely bad headaches (in the back of my head)
hair loss
dry skin
no sex drive (at all)
anxiety
severe mood swings (i've always been moody but never borderline psychotic!)
start crying for no reason (i used to never cry and my friends thought i was incapable of showing emotions!)
insecurity (especially about weight)
weight gain (25 lbs in 2 yrs -no change in eating habits)
inability to concentrate/cloudy thinking
diarrhea
abdominal pains (especially after eating)
sudden food intolerances i didnt have before
very bitchy
night sweats
dry itchy nose
unexplained memory loss
swelling of hands and feet (aka edema if you come across that word!)
dizziness
blurred vision
constant achy feeling
extrelmey sensitive
dehydration
no motivation
insomnia (i've NEVER had a problem sleeping!)
constant worrying
vaginal dryness/pain during sex
heartburn

Reading abck on all of this, i must seem like one of those people that thinks they have every sickness in the world, but I AM NOT LYING. Yasmin affected me in a very bad way. It took a year for me to start noticing any symptoms, so to all of you who after 1 week or 1 month say that everything is fine, it was the same with me (for the most part). if you give it time, it will affect you too. as for me, i am never going on another BCP. i just dont like the idea of putting extra hormones in my body. if you think back to being a teenager when your hormones start going all crazy on their own it only makes sense that adding more later on wouldn't be a good thing.

as i am off yasmin for more time, i will post which symptoms are improving and which arent. And I will try to keep them shorter!

thank you for reading and best of luck :)

angel

I started dating a guy that takes neurontin, thus the reason I am researching this drug. He is taking it for mood swings and a.d.d. He doesn't take it constitently. He takes various doses depending on the circumstances (sometimes he takes it like a party drug and he drinks). I can tell right away when he has taken a higher dose. He is lethargic, he drools, he is off balance, and actually seems somewhat slow (mildly retarded). I know he is intellegent, however, this drug is making him into a person that he should not want to be. I don't know if I can continue a relationship with someone that seems to be drugging himself to a complete stupor.
He said he was going to cut down to one pill, three times a day, however, I think he is having a very difficult time doing that. He is very addicted to his MEDS as he calls them. This drug seems to be destroying his life and he doesn't even know it.
He continually has to urinate, has a low sex drive and he experiences stomach problems along with back problems. This is the only drug that he takes. After what I have seen I wouldn't prescribe this to my worst enemy.

I was prescribed Yasmin for irregular/painful periods. I was instructed to take it continually for three months so that I would have a period the forth month. Anyway, since the first day I began the drug, I've had daily nausea that lasts the entirety of the day, cramping and pain in my groin, and depression. At first I thought it was all in my head but I am beginning to realize it is because of this drug. Please let me know if anyone has had similar symptoms (especially the groin pain.) Thank you all.

This is my third week on Ovcon. I had a regular period then started the pill. Since then I've been bleeding constantly, with terrible cramping. My doctor told me this is normal... I asked if he'd want to go through it. Of course he denied. I've been teribly hungry, also. Always wanting to eat something and very tired. I am going to stop taking this pill and demand to be switched to something different. I was told that in three months the bleeding should stop. I am not going to bleed continually for 3 months hoping it all ends.

Has anyone (ladies) experienced an almost nonstop menstrual cycle? I've been on prednisone for about five weeks, and continually spot. Started on 30 mg, but because I wasn't responding (asthma), it got increased to 50 mg. I'm finally down to 10 mg, but the spotting continues.

I also had insomnia BAD. Awake for 30+ hours a few times.
