I've been on Phentermine on and off for about 12 years. Phentermine does work really well but as with any change in eating habits or diet, you must continue to eat well when you are off of it. Because Phentermine is classified as an Amphetamine, you will gain the weight back when you get off of it and possibly gain more. Just like a drug addict who is taking Meth-Amphetamines is usually super skinny, but when they get off of the drug, they gain alot of weight back. It works great in the beginning but Phentermine is a short term diet pill and after about 3 months of taking, you should get off it for a while because your body starts to become immune to it. You may want to take more of it and the more you take, the more dangerous it could become. I read on here where someone had high blood pressure because of it. Phentermine can definitely do that. As far as the girl with the menstrual cycle problems, I have never heard of Phentermine doing that, so you might want to check to make sure something else isn't wrong. Phentermine is the generic for Adipex. Adipex actually works ALOT better but your doctor actually has to write you the prescription for Adipex. Most doctors write Phentermine on the prescription and you cannot request Adipex. Your doctor actually has to prescribe it for you. I used to get my prescription filled out Walgreens or CVS and I was paying $54 a month for it. Then I heard Costco or Sam's Club sells it "at cost". Now I only pay $13.88 a month for it. I think I mostly just take Phentermine now to stay awake when I don't get enough sleep. Also, I had read on here where someone was breaking the 37.5 mg tablets in half and just taking a half a pill. I read in a drug insert on Phentermine that you should not break or crush them because it decreases the pill's effect significantly.

Hi Metoprolol pill takers, You need to get off of this nasty drug immediately. My husband has been on it for 5-7 years and it has ruined his life. He still works and that is a miracle to me. His short term memory has been totally taken away. When I am talking to him, he forgets what I just said to him. I no longer let him drive our car. Everything that he once loved to do, can no longer be accomplished. He was once a fun loving guy who everyone wanted to be with. He no longer has friends that call him to do things with. He has night terrors that are horrible. The news on CNN announced last week that they are using this drug to give to people that have just gone through a traumatic event.. You know, like a plane crash, attempted murder, rape. This drug takes away their short term memory and they forget about the event ever happening. Can you imagine my husband running a lumber yard, getting a order, or talking to a customer and trying to make sense of the whole thing. I heard that the drug company has recalled the drug. I couldn't get it at Costco but I managed to get more of it at Haggen's. It's like they are getting rid of every last bit of it. Drug Companies will do anything to make money no matter who they hurt. They should be ashamed of themselves for putting out such a dangerous horrible drug. They need the money so they can bore the living hell out of us with their television commercials promoting erectile dysfunction and the four hour erection. I'm sure that is really good for you. Joking aside, I want everyone to know about these life altering side effects of Metoprolol. My hope is that he will return to normal after he is taken off of this drug and can lead a normal life with his memory intact. I will write to you again in 4 months and let you know.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, age 53. I had excellent medical care at NW Cancer Specialists, Dr. D. G., Portland, Oregon. I endured Chemo (8 treatments) I had a lumpectomy and 36 radiation treatments. I also took Arimidex from 2004 - 2009. My doctor suggested exercise would lessen the side-effects and he was right. I followed everything my doctor told me to do, it was very difficult at times, but we are talking about my life and the quality of my days, his suggestions worked. I began a regime of walking, up to 3+ miles a day, water aerobics 3 times a week and I joined Curves. I also took vitamins: Costco multiple vitamin, vitamin E & C, Calcium + D(Viactive), Melatonin (natural sleep aid), probiotics, and fish oil. I also drank up to 6 glasses of water a day. I am now "cancer free" and not taking any RX.

I have been on Metoprolol Succinate ER. They had me on a small oval pill (had racing heart) and a large oval pill (eye twitching). I think my symptoms are due to the generic pills. Anyone else had the eye symptoms

Hey everyone... I was on Yasmin and I loved it! I had to switch to Loestrin 24 because of insurance. Like most people I have had a really irregular period on Loestrin24, or I guess lack of one. The first pack I had HEAVY breakthrough bleeding after the first week. Since then, with the second pack I had no period, I took a pregnancy test, it was negative. Then this month the third, I am about to finish the brown pills and still no period. Since I started the pill I had had horrible stomach aches, and my left breast has been in so much pain. I went to the doctor, told her about my worries, she said to wait 3 months and see what happens. I hate this pill but I am in a bind because my insurance will not cover any birth controls for a reasonable price (under $65-$90) except for the generics. It is just frustrating because of course I am worried that I am pregnant but there's no way I could be (we are always double protected). I want to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to get an inexpensive form of birth control...

My 8 year old daughter has been taking Singulair for 4 years. She immediately began having sleeping problems. I never connected it to Singulair. When she was 5, she had a check-up with her Asthma/Allergy doctor. I received a new prescription and had it filled at Costco. She became more irritable and the sleeping problems persisted. After I had the second refill and had the information sheet Costco had given me, I decided to read the about side effects. That was when I realized she was taking the 10mg dose for ages 15 and up at 5 years old. I knew she was taking a different dose but it was new script because she had been at the doctors and I thought the doctor had just increased the dosage. I called Costco and had them check the original prescription and sure enough they had entered it wrong in their system and was given an OVERDOSE. They did pay for any tests for Physical damage (blood work and liver), and gave me free pills that were dispensed incorrectly. I assumed everything was ok now that she was back on the 5mg. dose again. She has still continued to have sleeping issues and her aggressive behavior has gotten worse. She has consistently had stomach problems, daily! A month ago I had an evaluation done for academic purposes, When the Psychologist was done he was saying she was a sweet girl. I proceeded to tell him about her violent outbursts. Just that morning her brother, 6yrs.old, was walking by her and out of the blue she took the pencil in her hand and slashed across his chest. I told him these were typical of the behavior at home and I had tried all type of discipline to no avail. HE WAS SHOCKED. He said that wasn't her personality at all. After talking to him a second time, He said it was probably a combination of her age, hormones starting to kick in and sibling rivalry! I knew it was more than that but still never connected it to Singulair! Well, as of today she is off the Singulair. I can't wait to see if her behavior changes. I see these posting go all the way back to 2003! If only I had thought to look online first!

Thanks for all these posts! My 4 year old daughter has a history of allergies which have in the past led to sinus infections and bronchitis. We used Xopenex and Pulmicort with the nebulizer along with Vazobid and Delsym and cleared up the bronchitis during Christmas 2007, but her pediatrician suggested her taking Singulair as a preventive medication for her allergies. This medication has turned our household upside down. She has taken it every night for 3 weeks and the side effects are the same as others have posted.......aggressive behavior, severe defiance to simple tasks, nightmares, stomach cramps, wetting accident at school (first time ever), weight gain, bruising, and vomiting. When told "no" she replies with wanting to kick me and tells me she doesn't want me as a mom anymore. The devilish behavior is intolerable. She was never like this before she started taking Singulair, and I am so thankful that I found this website quickly enough to put 2 and 2 together, and I am taking her off of it TODAY!!!

I, too, was originally prescribed Toprol XL 50 mg last 1/5/06. I took it for about two weeks then stopped and switched to Benicar. Toprol was too potent for me. Although I like the relaxed feeling and being able to fall asleep right away, I dreaded falling too sound asleep. This drug caused me to have nightmares and vivid dreams. Every night, all my fears and phobias seem to play itself out in my dreams. I'd wake up thinking it all actually happened! Very creepy! I also felt that heavy and hollow feeling that someone else here described. I really felt sad and depressed, lack of energy, sleepiness, night sweats, lack of appetite--which would have been a plus :), but with all the other side effects, I just didn't think it was good for me to continue taking it. We are currently on the experimental stage on which meds work with the least horrible symptoms. I am also on HCT and Lisinopril. I stopped taking the latter due to incessant, hacking coughs.
I'm glad this website is here, as now I know my symptoms from all these meds are not at all uncommon. Most doctors will never tell patients what side effects these drugs can cause, so as not to scare or plant ideas in their heads. Their job is to prescribe what they think will control HBP...then they just wait how the patient will react. It's up to us the patients to listen to our bodies and complain if we must when the drug has adverse effects. They will switch you to a better alternative. If that is too costly and wasteful....make sure to ask your doctor to give you samples first before you fill that Rx, because even if you tell the pharmacist not to fill the 30-day prescription, the price per pill is more expensive. At least that's what my Costco pharmacist told me. I really think these doctors get a payback/kickback, what have you, for prescribing these drugs. So, ask a lot of questions before agreeing to take anything. Doctors are humans--not God. Their opinions a
re subjective and YES, they make mistakes too.

I did not suspect Lipitor as the cause for my shoulder pain and rash on my leg. I've been taking Lipitor for couple of years and over time both my shoulders were so painful that the doctors (2) said I had inflammation and possible muscle tears. Put me on antiinflammatory pills and eventually gave me cortisone shots in both shoulders. During this time I continued to take Lipitor. I went on a 2 week vacation to Mexico and forgot to take the Lipitor with me and I didn't have a prescription to get more in Mexico (legally) so I did without. Magically during my second week without Lipitor, my pain started to subside in both shoulders and the rash eased up. I have been off Lipitor for 1 month now and my shoulders are almost back to normal and rash has stayed away. I am convinced it is the side effects from Lipitor. I encourage all to see their doctors regarding going on another form of Statin. I myself have started taking some liquid glucosamine (with condroitin, MSM, and Colegen) that I got at Costco, Vitamin E, and Fish Oil capsules. Not sure about my cholesterol but the pain is almost all gone and improving daily. Good luck to all who are dealing with the side effects of Lipitor. This is my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Wow. I am in awe. I lost my mother June 7, 2009. I plunged into severe depression. I was already on Paxil. I started the generic brand of Wellbutrin (Bupropion) around June 30th. I noticed a big difference neurologically. But on to why I am posting... I noticed last week my hands were shaking uncontrollably and I could not stop them. I ran out of Wellbutrin and waited a couple of days to pick it up. I noticed a lot of the symptoms stopped. I have also had off the chart vertigo. I am talking extreme. I had tremors this morning and thought something was under the pillows on my sofa and jumped up to look. I then wondered if I was going crazy. I then went to my desk to work and crossed my legs on top the desk and the tremors started again.
I had thick bit fat hair naturally curly hair (which I still have most of it) . I started seeing hair everywhere in the car seat, the desk chair, on the sofa, the floor blah blah. Everywhere! If pulled on the end to check for split ends and the freaking hair came out. I notice last night that I could see through the temples of my hair and freaked out. So now what? Am I going to have to have a Donald Trump comb over. Seriously I had enough hair on my head for two people. You know how people buy really bad wigs that have way too my hair on them. They are long bushy and you know they aren't real? Yeah well that's my natural hair. So when I looked last night and saw what I saw - I totally freaked. The tremors this morning did it along with the postings here. I just flushed my entire bottle. I had only taken 3 out of it. I'm over it. I like my too big nappy natural hair. I'm going to do everything I can to get it back. My dermatologist friend told me to go to Costco and buy Men's Rogaine gel form (I'm a chick). Can I just say I'm about to put my little dog in my purse and we are off to Costco. This is really, really, really the suck. So here are the choices; do you want to be sane and bald? Or do you want to be semi-crazy and shake like a junkie? I say screw it. Hey, I have cold turkied off Ambien before (it took 14 days but do not try this at home!). I'm done with Wellbutrin. No guts, no glory.
