About a year ago my doctor put me on Zoloft for depression and anxiety. I only gave it a chance for about 3 weeks though. In the first week I thought I felt pretty good and things were fairly smooth sailing, aside from feeling a little loopy. Once I got into the second week though, I started feeling a lot more dizzy and like my head was in a constant fog. I started feeling a lot more depressed than I was before being on the drug and I was sleeping all the time. There was even a day where I had slept right through my alarm clock AND phone calls from work. I'd missed an entire shift of work because of it, which is when I decided I didn't want to take Zoloft anymore because I didn't want a drug to affect my life so negatively. When I was talking to a coworker about it after the fact she had told me that she noticed that I seemed really off recently, that I was talking slower and didn't seem myself at all. I didn't have a very good experience with this drug at all.

Oh God. i am on the Depo Provera shot. My daughter is 7, I have been rotating between the patch and the shot every other year, because the doctor says its not good to be on the shot for more than a year, something about osteoporosis. Mind you, I haven't had any problems before, but i have been back on the shot i wanna say 6 months, well whatever, i'm on my second dosage. And I am blowing up!And now that i am putting 2 and 2 together, I do have a lot of headaches. i don't know what to do. I have to have birth control because I LOVE SEX. And it helps with my cramps. I mean when I'm not on birth control, I have the kind of cramps that make you feel like you are going to vomit. I'm still small but I have gained 20 pounds! That will not leave! Now i'm debating on getting off birth control all together!!! The patch was cool, but that big ass band-aid is not sexy! It looks like a Nicotine patch. And I was considering the mirena, but you said you gained weight off of that! Oh lord! And I can't take pills because they give me yeast infections! What other methods are there?? Is you know of anything Side effects or what i should consider, email me at ****** Thanks. P.S. All the problems that I was having I didn't put 2 and 2 together until a coworker's hair started falling out due to a Birth Control pill she just started taking. Side effects that I am having are: I have gained 25 pounds and I don't eat shit. Fatigue. Hemorrhoids. Small portions of acne around my hairline. Fast heartbeat sometimes. I felt a kicking feeling in my belly about 3 times. Last week when I caught a cold my vision was blurry. Can't walk up a flight of steps without breathing like a 500 pound woman. A slight headaches. Not excruciating just a dull pain that will not go away until I take some aspirin. Irritability. And gas. This makes me not want to be on any kind of birth control period. I am researching different methods now.

My doctor prescribed Avelox for a nasty sinus infection with bronchitis. The moment I took the first pill I started feeling this ache in my mouth- like my upper teeth were going to fall. The ache will not go away and after the third pill hell broke loose. I was at work and I started getting severly disoriented, I could not put together coherent sentences, I went into a meeting with my boss and a coworker and I could not understand what they were telling me, I started writting in the board what I wanted to say so I could keep my toughts together and then I started yelling at my coworker without a reason. I went back to my desk to call the doctor and I just could not focus on placing the call - it took me probably like 15mins just to find and dial the number. I just could not tell coherently to the nurse what was going on. I could not remmember my pharmacy, my number or anything. Another couple of coworkers started to send me IMs due to urgent work and I tried to type them back and I could not figure out the position of the letters in the key board- everything was jumbled up and I had to read things like 100 times to understand what I was painfully trying to text back. My coworker and my boss seemed to be moving in slow motion. I freaked out!I just started crying and my boss had to call my husband to go and pick me up. I apologized to the coworker I yelled to and I just could not contain myself from sobbing. I had tremors all the drive back home. The nightmare lasted about 4hrs. My upper teeth are now hurting like crazy and I just started eating and at least now I am more coherent. This drug is insane!!!! How the FDA approved something like this? This was a torture and everything happened in front of all my coworkers as we have an open office environment. Everyone was just staring at me since I just looked like I was crazy. I do not know if this will affect my career and I can not stop thanking God that today I did not meet with any suppliers. I am afraid of taking Tylenol for the pain in my teeth and I do not want to take anything else. I rather deal with the bronchitis instead of having another episode like this again.

I have been on Synthroid and Levothyroxine for 12 years (I am 34 years old). All of a sudden, I had very achy fingers which got much worse over the course of two weeks until I could barely move them. Then my ankles hurt. I mentioned it to a coworker who told me the same thing happened to her but when she switched to armour it went away. So I drove an hour across town to the only doctor who prescribes it, and now just a few days have passed, and my pain has nearly ceased. I thought I had rheumatoid arthritis. I'm so glad I my coworker shared her experience with me. That is why I am posting now.

I started taking Yasmin in May of 2006 and all the benefits that they talked about (helps with acne and weight in particular) i experienced. Recently I decided to come off the pill it's been about a month now just last week I started experiencing a few break outs (in the beginning) but now the break outs have gotten pretty bad, last night i had some headaches and this morning when i was to work they were occurring to fast one behind the other at one point i had the feeling as if my period was coming but it didn't and then today at lunch i felt extremely bad and wanted to vomit my coworker came in with some KFC and I could not stand the scent of it. For one brief moment i thought maybe i was pregnant. I decided today to go back on the pill. Didn't have any problems while I was on it.

I was on the Depo shot for almost 2 1/2 years after I had my second child. I always thought that my bad attitude and mood swings was because of all of the stress that I was under with being a single parent of 2 little kids. I was due to get the shot again in January and I didn't get it, at first because I didn't have the money for it at the time, but then I started to realize that I was in such a better mood. I was actually happy and had the energy to play with my kids. I did love not having a period, but I don't mind having one now that I'm actually able to enjoy spending time with my kids. I've been off of the shot for about 4 months now and just now had a period. It has lasted for over a week now and I'm not sure when it is going to stop. Right now I'm in the process of trying to find another form of birth control, but I'm not sure what to try because I also have endometriosis so I need something that will help with that. My doctor wants me to try the Nuvaring, but after I've read all of the complaints on here, I'm not sure I want to try it at all. And I was trying to lose weight, but I discovered that it was just about impossible while being on the shot because I had such a huge appetite. I've been eating less now and have lost a few pounds already. I also had a drastic loss of sex drive while on the shot. I always thought that the reason sex was so painful for me was because of the endometriosis, but since I've been off of the shot, I've been able to actually enjoy sex again, with no pain. I'm almost afraid to try any other birth control because I do not want to go back to being the person that I was when I was on the Depo shot.

Hello,
I have posted to this site before since my daughter was on singulair for 2 years. She has not had it for 4 weeks now and so far so good. Although my daughter didn't seem to have the behavioral/psyche side effects many have reported I wanted to take her off because I hated giving her a medication every day and for so long. No one in my family has ever had to take chronic meds like she has. Anyway recently a coworker of mine said his daughter too had been prescribed singulair. I told him about the side effects people were reporting especially in children and gave him this website to check, but up to now he says he hasn't gotten around to it. I guess he's trusting his doctor as so many of us have done. At least he was made aware and warned if anything should come up.

I am a 36 year old female who has been taking Cymbalta for almost a month now. I currently take 30 mg once per day, in the morning. Here's my story: For the past two years, I have been living with chronic pain, mostly in my back. I've also not slept well either. I could never get comfortable enough to fall asleep and if I did fall asleep, I'd wake up in pain. My Doctor has put me through numerous tests. I have finally got my thyroid medicine regulated and I've tested negative for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus. So, my Doctor wanted me to try Cymbalta. She said that it was originally an antidepressant, which we know I don't need, but she said it has been successful in helping patients with Fibromyalgia. I was very skeptical about taking it, especially after reading the blogs on ****** about it. I spoke with a coworker who is on it and she said it has helped her tremendously. She had severe migraines. Well, I tried it, and in only a few days I felt a lot of relief from my pain. It didn't make it go away 100%, but I would say it helps a good 80%. That is so much more manageable than without it. I've only been taking it for about 3 weeks. I have a follow up appointment with my doctor next week. I have a feeling that she will put me on it twice per day though. It helps a lot during the day, but I think it wears off before bedtime. However, I have been sleeping much better since I've been on it. I don't think it makes me any sleepier during the day. But, I've been living with fatigue for a while now!

I have been on Depo for about 7 years. I never had a problem, I never had any periods at all. When i went off I became pregnant in 3 months. I have decided that I will never go back on it just because everyone has warned me about the horrible bone decay. I am awaiting a bone density test in March and I am very nervous. It took this long to actually start listening to what people were telling me about this drug.especially my doctor. I tried the pill 2 months ago (tri-cyclon_ for the 1st time and it is the worst thing I have ever done. I am depressed beyond words. I have no desire for sex no desire to eat, or to be social. this is where brown stuff hits the fan. I am done with needles, pills and any other thing that put chemicals in the body. Condoms, I have no choice. I am sick sick of being mentally and physically sick, on account of putting crap in my body.

just started taking Adderall, though i am not prescribed. I went to my doctor and asked for it but she said no. I explained that I am often overwhelmed at work, I am a case manager and keeping on task with all of the work is hard. My doctor said when she was in med school, med students used to take it for that purpose. So anyway i bought 5 pills from a coworker. I seem to have super human energy, get all types of work done and stay focused all day. On the down side, in 5 days I have lost 3lbs., I want to lose weight, but not that fast. I have what I consider to be Adderall hangovers the next day, where I am extremely tired. I also have noticed severe headaches, every day that I have taken it, I crash by the end of the day at work and cant wait to get home, because I am so tired. My neck aches, and I had to change to a firmer chair at work, because all of a sudden my back is killing me, I also get insomnia and have to counteract the Aderall with Tylenol pm just to get to sleep. These side effects freak me out, and I don't know if I want to again ask my doctor for a script, but I get so much done at work, and I am heading back for grad school, I just don't know what to do? oh yeah, the pills that I bought were Adderall XR 30 mg.

I'm writing for my mother. She was on 20mg of Lisinopril and her doctor insisted her violent coughs was from her asthma. Being an asthma sufferer her whole life and knowing the difference, she insisted it was not. He told her that this drug does not cause violent coughing as she described (but later admitted otherwise). I saw her in October and then in November for Thanksgiving and it looked as though she aged ten years! She was coughing badly, throwing up from coughing so violently and was white as a ghost and was extremely tired from not getting enough rest (from coughing). Everyone in the family told her to STOP taking the medication. She stopped taking it the day after Thanksgiving. It's been about five days and she is still coughing, although it's not nearly so bad, but she's taking pain medication (Hydrocodone) and I believe this narcotic has helped to subside the coughing, plus allow her to sleep, but masked the effects of the Lisinopril. Please, anyone, that has discontinued this medication, can you tell me how long to expect this drug to be out of her body? This has been an absolute nightmare and I'm so worried about her! Please email at ******

I was on Altace even though I am allergic to grey-paper-nest-building brown wasp stings and had read a side effect of people undergoing allergy therapy for this having heightened sensitivity or reactions when being on Altace. For this reason, I had requested an Epipen from my doctor. I work at a municipal golf course and went to another municipal golf course to pick up a backhoe. There was a nest in the corner of the cab. I was stung and the Epipen was back at the other course in my locker. I immediately took three Benadryl (which I carry in a key-chain container) and told a coworker to take me to the nearby hospital emergency room which was a total of ten to possibly fifteen minutes away. I didn't feel bad after the sting, which wasn't a very bad sting, but my feet tingled immediately and I felt that was not good. We took off and I wrote down my medications for my driver and passed out. An iv was started immediately and I was semiconscious but heard that my blood pressure was 54 / 36. My pulse was very slow but I remember not what it was. I had lower abdominal cramps and was vomiting. I was asked if I was diabetic, as sweat was pouring off me. I was given saline and a steroid (iv) which starts with d (and prednisone prescription to follow it up) and epinephrine subcutaneously (the same dose, .3mg, that is in the Epipen. I was kept three hours and released with the instructions that if I felt any weakness coming on later that evening to call 911 and return. Other episodes of wasp stings had produced hives on the chest and back, a return of swelling at the sting site at four hour intervals (even days later), when it was time for Benadryl again. Also, the most serious prior stings produced underarm itching, then progression to groin area itching and finally the feet itching and tingling, then when this subsided the itching was over except as to the sting site. Possibly I reasoned that if the sting caused my feet to be involved immediately, it would be bad. Emergency department personnel asked if I was alergic to other bees or wasps, but I have not been stung by any other than these wasps since I was a teenager. The only exception being a large number of stings from the small soda can swarming wasps which people call bees. This gave me a feeling such that I quit working where they were as I could feel an effect was accumulating. I cannot really describe the sensation. Did you know that Epipens are to be stored between 59 and 77 degrees fahrenheit with excursions allowed to 86 degrees? They are not to be refrigerated. I carry one on my person now in a cheap K-mart insulated bag. Inside this I have a cheap stainless thermos into which the Epipen fits. In the recent 100 degree weather I put one aboutr 3 X 5 inch X 1 1/2 inch thick frozen blue gel (ice replacement which people use in lunch boxes, etc.) in the bag to keep the interior cool or cold. This takes a fresh one about every four hours and is my personal solution to the delimna of room temperature and high temperatures and keeping the Epipen with me. When a person has such a harsh reaction, it is my understanding that the next one can be expected to be as bad or worse. I am off Altace but on Lisinopril which is also an Ace inhibitor and which I may get off when I return to my regular physcian. This sting occured Aug 2, 2007. Hope this information helps prevent someone from going through a life-threatening experience as I did.

I was on the patch for a year and a half. The only reason I stopped being on the patch was because my insurance got cancled.lol. But when I got new insurance I decided to get a different birth control because of all the negativity surrounding the patch. It was great for me though. No real side effects, it eased my Menstral cramps drastically to the point where I did not even need pain killers for the cramps! After a while the only other thing I began to not like about the patch is the fact that it was exterior...and because of the site on which I wore my patch (my buttocks) I thought it made my sexy lingerie pieces look a little off...sort off like a big band aid on the ass when I had on cute thong. But anyway I loved it for the most part. So ppl if you are on it and it does not really effect you and you like it then keep it!

I took this pill for 2 years. Soon after starting I became severely depressed. I was hospitalized for depression twice while on this drug, and began self mutilating. My mom heard from a coworker that Yasmin causes depression, and she took me off the drug. Within two weeks I felt better. And I'm trying to get my life back on track. I am happier now than I can ever remember being. Now, even at my lowest points, I am still happier than I was for the two years I was taking Yasmin. I went from being an honor roll student, and now I am barely graduating. Please, if you are experiencing depression after taking this pill, take yourself off of it. Nothing is worth feeling like that.

Who do you work for a drug rep.?
I began taking the drug three days ago due to severe sinusitis. 750mg. for 5 days. I stopped today due to severe weakness, nausea, pain in lower back, diarrhea, blurred vision. sleeplessness and lack of appetite. A coworker told me the same day I started taking it that her son had a severe allergic reaction to the same drug within half an hour of taking the first pill. Since then 3 other co-workers have told me they have experienced very similar reactions to the drug and my mother as well.
After picking up the drug at the pharmacy I asked the pharmacist if there had been any complaints about the drug since I had never taken it, heard of it and the doctor said it was very strong. The pharmacist indicated that no problems had been reported. As many antibiotics as there are on the market I would certainly ask for something else........
BTW I reported it to my pharmacist and my doctor today.

I've had horrid luck with hormonal birth control. all other methods i tried made my breasts grow, made me sick to my stomach or made me spot constantly. i have been trying to find a method that will let me regulate my disabling cramps so i can avoid missing work every month or disolving my stomach lining with pain killers. i went on Yasmin a few years ago and at first thought i had finally found the answer: no more cramps, and no gross hormonal side effects. i stayed on Yasmin for three years until i realized that my libido was gone. absolutely gone. i was in a happy relationship, i exercise regularly, eat well and am not depressed. i talked to a NP coworker (i work at a reproductive health clinic) and she told me about Yasmin's anti-androgenic effects. no androgens, thus no libido. i quit Yasmin that day. now i have my beloved sex drive back but still haven't found a cure for my cramps.

I started Lisinopril about a year ago. Shortly after that, I started with a bad dry cough that I attributed to a cold. The cough still has not gone away. I was talking with a coworker 2 days ago about the cough and she said that she had been on a BP med that caused a cough, then said it was Lisinopril. I never would have put the 2 together! I have been doing some checking on the net, found this site. I will be calling my doc 1st thing in the morning to change my BP medication!!

I was given Levaquin for a kidney infection. It seemed to help break my fever but after only one dose, I broke out in rash and later that night had tingling in my legs. My hand felt numb. When I called the oncall doctor she told attributed to anxiety. I told her I was anxious because all of a sudden my hand had gone numb and knowing that was a danger sign I refused to take anymore. Later that night, I could not walk or stand or bear weight on my legs. My shins and Achilles tendons were burning and only because of the internet did I know what was happening to me. Only 1 out of three doctors would agree I was having a drug reaction. For some odd reason, the doctors REFUSE to believe or acknowledge this was caused by Levaquin. No wonder the side effects are "rare" if no doctor will acknowledge the pain their patients are going through....how can the drug companies get any real feedback. Funny thing is only after I sent an email out to my team essentially warning them about this drug did I find out my coworker who had been on medical leave had suffered the same fate of torn achilles tendon and only after 3 months of PT is finally walking without pain. WHAT IS WRONG WITH our world when no one will listen to us. Thank God for the internet. I can walk now and have no pain standing (lasted only 2 and half days) but I am scared about the future as I know the results are lingering. I have been exhausted this whole weekend and wonder if its just me recovering as my PCP had me quit all antibiotics even at the risk of getting my kidney infection back. Well nice to know our stories are the same...and its not in our heads. BTW, my ER doctor told me it was a good drug and very unlikely the cause of my leg pains. They rather believed I had pneumonia or lyme's disease before they would believe it was caused by their beloved drug. All I can think now is I hope one day they are given this drug and it cripples them like it has so many others. Sometimes that is the only way they will acknowledge the truth. It has to happen to them or someone they love.
