well I finally pulled my mirena by myself cause getting a hold of my doctor was a joke and it was really easy no pain what so ever
I was sitting at one weight and could not lose weight for nothing I just stayed in one place
after i pulled mirena I lost a pound in 2 days I was really surprised. mirena is a curse

I'm 21 and I have never been on any kind of birth control method. I decided to get on the Nuvaring because I had a pregnancy scare. My boyfriend and I have only ever used condoms, but one broke and that was enough for me. I've been on the Nuvaring for about 2 weeks. I normally get my period every 35 days and the only cramping I ever experience is the first and second day of my period. After the first week I noticed I had some light cramping and thought nothing of it, but as time went on the cramping only seemed to be getting worse. I told my doctor about it and she advised me that it was probably my body trying to get used to the ring. Never having used birth control before, I tried not to worry. Then, I noticed some other changes that concerned me since it wasn't like me to feel that way. Aside from the cramping, I had been feeling very depressed about my life and where I was headed for some reason, and my sex drive was depreciating. My boyfriend noticed of course and I had no idea why I was feeling that way. It wasn't until I came across this website that everything started to make sense. I thought I was the only one experiencing these changes. I'm definitely going to change birth control methods. I just don't know what is the best out there. Can anyone help me?

I had the Mirena inserted right after I had my baby in Sept 2008. I have not had a period since then. Which is a curse and a blessing in itself. I have had terrible migraines at least once a week since then. I have no sex drive at all! I am tired all the time and cannot get enough rest. I work full time and have a small child, I cannot afford to feel this tired. I also have developed acne all over my forehead and chin. I am 27 years old. I didn't even have this when I was in high school. This is ridiculous. I had a thyroidectomy four years ago when I had half of my thyroid removed and have been fine since then until now. I really feel the Mirena has slowed by thyroid down because I have many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

My daughter has been experiencing extreme stomach cramping since the beginning of September. She had her last Gardasil injection (3rd) along with a tetanus booster late July. She has gone through an upper GI ultrasound, colonoscopy, endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, etc. Her gastroentologist thinks she has a pulled muscle. She has lost over 10 lbs. (didn't have 10 extra to lose). After reading these entries, I believe the common denominator here is the Gardasil.

If that is the case, we need to get the word out.

I went to this web site because I want to help my wife. She's been on Jolessa for 8 weeks now. As of this week, her heart has been "fluttering" for lack of a better word. She went to the ER room and they said basically that nothing's wrong with her but she is experiencing premature ventricular contractions (PVC's) which are not dangerous (according to the doctors). She asked the doc's if she should stop taking Jolessa and of course they said,"no."

We're wondering if anyone else is experiencing this feeling with this junk? My wife is 38 years old, healthy, never had heart problems or disorders. As of the past few weeks though,she's been feeling down in the dumps, sluggish and has a slight mode change.

If anyone is experiencing a change in heart rhythm, since taking Jolessa, please post it here. Thank you.

Hi, I know this section is for posting side effects but I was wondering if someone could please help me and provide me with some information. I am very athletic and active so any type of spotting/bleeding is NOT FOR ME. I am trying to eliminate my monthly period. I was on Depo Provera for several years and loved it. No periods everything fine except for a low sex drive. Then I ran into some problems and had to stop that. Plus my doctor said it causes osteoporosis.
Then I tried Seasonique which was awful as I had instant weight gain and breast tenderness like crazy. Was only on that for a few weeks!!!
Then I heard about Lybrel which is supposed to stop your periods after some time so I started that at the end of December last year (2007). I had spotting and some bleeding EVERY DAY and a few days ago had a lot of bleeding but I also played with the dosage per doctor's request. So I saw my doctor today and I said enough is enough what else can I try? So she gave me the Loestrin 24 Fe and I will start that Sunday. She said many people stop having periods after a few months of use. HOWEVER, after reading these posts, I am thinking NO BC is right for me now. If anyone can help me on my goal of eliminating the curse or convince me that this pill is OKAY after 3 months I would appreciate it. Please email me at escarle1@hotmail.com. I am so upset about this news about Singulair. My 9 year old son was put on Singulair in November when he was diagnosed with pneumonia. We have had a horrible time since then with his 'attitude' and now it has spilled over into school. He has had all the symptoms that everyone else is talking about on this site. He has severe mood swings and outburst, he yells and can't control his anger at times. On three different occasions specifically I can remember him saying he wished he were dead or that he was going to kill himself. He also has complained of headaches, leg cramps, nightmares, he says he is unable to sleep or to get back to sleep. He is also very emotional.
I thought he was having a hard time dealing with some family issues going on, which may very well still be the case but I believe with all of my heart that Singulair is making things worse.
We ran out of the medication about 2 weeks ago and I didn't refill because the doctor said he should stop taking it in the spring and begin again in the fall.
My son will not be taking this medication any more.
I feel so horrible that my son has had to feel like he has only because of medication.

I had a Mirena coil fitted about 3 years ago. It was brilliant. I had it fitted because I suffered terribly with painful periods. Not heavy though. I had it for about a year, then had it removed to try for a baby with my partner. I already have a 19 year old son. I didn't get pregnant, now, I believe a good thing, and I had a second Mirena fitted. Let's put it this way, it's not acting like the first one did. I get headaches, hot flushes, bloating, depression, crying, muscle ache, especially arms and hands. I have dizzy spells, and can't stand around for a while as I feel faint. I am overweight, and always intend to do some exercise, and control eating habits a bit, but when your mind isn't right, how can you? It's a vicious circle. Obviously I appreciate that some of how I feel is my weight issue, but as I said, it's hard to do anything about it when you can't get the incentive because your mind is working overtime! The bleeding though, is basically the same as the first coil. It stopped near enough straight away, but at this moment I am having what isn't really a period, but is stranger and little heavier than spotting! I also get sharp pains now and again at the moment, and am very bloated. Doctor said about a month ago, that the coil could still be settling! We will see! I started using the NuvaRing a couple months after it first came out. I loved the freedom of not taking a pill evey day and my periods were very light, and lasted only a couple of days. I had used the NuvaRing faithfully up until January of this year when I became separated from my husband and decided that I really didn't neeed to be on birth control since I wasn't having sex. Until I came upon this message board I'd never been aware the NuvaRing had so many side effects that were NOT listed in the medication info. I am a nurse so I realize that there are side effects of medications that sometimes aren't listed, but that's usually because they are very mild and may only be experienced by a few people. Since reading other people's experiences with the NuvaRing, I am now starting to wish the NuvaRing never existed and I am very angry at this drug company for it NOT listing side effects that seem to be very common in users. I too had the annoying, embarassing, heavy discharge which was sometimes a brownish color, and it also had a funny smell to it. I almost felt like I could "smell myself" down there sometimes, even if I was clothed. My breasts were always tender, and my neck, shoulders, and all my joints ached and were stiff all the time, I noticed those symptoms more just after my period ended and I reinserted the ring. Otherwise I was fine and enjoyed a wonderful sex life and was happy.
Then about 2 years ago, I started to have a lack of motivation, uncontrolable mood swings, and I felt nervous and depressed all the time. My moods were horrible! I'd make the biggest deal out of nothing, lash out, and cause a lot of tension and fighting in my home. I felt depressed, wthdrawn, and wanted to not be around people a lot. Everyone annoyed me; EVERYTHING annoyed me! I became a very mean person. The weight gain was a horrible issue. I'd gain 20lbs. in three months easy and it WASN'T because I was sitting around stuffing my face. I had to almost starve myself to lose the weight. I'd finally get sick of eating rice cakes and salad all the time and start to eat normal again...and BAM...the whole weight gain cycle started over again. My weight kept going up and down like a yo-yo! I am a very active person, I like to eat healthy and exercise, and weight control had not been a issue since pregnancy. Sex began to be a chore for me and I hated it. The thought of having sex made me sick. I had a bad self image because of my up and down weight all the time and I would do anything to avoid letting my husband see me naked. I didn't want to be touched. My breasts weren't just tender, they were so annoyingly sensitive that I almost wanted to punch my husband if he touch them because the over sensativity sent a sickening feeling to my stomach. My cervix hurt during sex and the pain made it unbearable if my husband was inside of me too deep. I also experienced spotting after sex, sometimes heavy. I've never experienced those problems before. I also began to experience about 1 1/2 wks before I was to take out the NuvaRing, I'd start to have a heaviness in my chest almost like a panic attack was coming on; this would occur almost daily. Everytime I tried to inhale it was like I couldn't get my breathe in, and the coughing was horrible. I'd also not be able to fall asleep at night or I'd wake up in the middle of the night panicing and crying over stupid things. I used to blame it on the stress I was having in my marriage, but I'm starting to wonder if the NuvaRing was really the cause of the stress in my marriage! My husband would get so mad at me beacause of my moodiness and irritability that he started not wanting to be around me and started not coming home after work so he wouldn't have to deal with me. I became even more depressed and started having suicidal thoughts because I was unable to control my mood swings and didn't know why. Needless to say my husband left me. And since I didn't plan on having sex , I stopped using the ring. With in the next month my moods became stable, I was happier, felt good, and I began to sleep a lot better. I thought it was because my life was beginning to calm down.

Then in April, I'd started seeing someone and once again found the need for birth control, so I started using the NuvaRing again. I started to feel like crap again during the first week I used it. I had no idea why I was feeling this way again, until now. I have discontinued using the NuvaRing this month, not because of the way I was feeling again, but because I found out I'm pregnant. I'm not happy at all either. I don't want anymore children. Thanks NuvaRing! Had I known all this time that it was the ring that was making and had made me in the past so miserable, I would've just gotten a tubal and not wasted my time using such life ruining and ineffective birth control, and maybe I'd still have my husband too. If anyone out there reads this and their doctor has said it is such a wonderful method of birthcontrol...don't believe a word of it. Use something else. Take the advice from me and all the others here who've shared their experiences with you.

Where do I begin??? I have been taking Yaz for six months. Migraines! The worst migraines ever, I cannot function for one full day and sometimes more, the pain was so intolerable.

Hives! For the past two months, I keep thinking that I had a food allergy; even my doctor diagnosed it as that. After going to the allergist, I was told that I have developed an allergy to the Yasmin pill. No part of my body has been discriminated with this medication. Hives from the top of my head, in my eyes, right down to the bottom of my feet! This has been the worst experience of my life with this pill.

Fatigue to the extreme! I fall asleep sitting up and never feel rested. Yaz has caused me to go up two cup sizes so far, I went from being a 38C to a 40DD and I can't fit into anything. My boobs are sore a lot.

Weight gain, at least 20 pounds heavier. Nausea; Indigestion; Diarrhea & Constipation; Decreased Sex Drive; and Mood swings; Uncontrollable Rages; Severe body aches; Hot Flashes/Chills; Crying Spells; Blurred Vision; Lack of Concentration; Trouble sleeping; Dizziness; Shaking; Restlessness mainly after 9pm when I should be winding down to go to bed; Terrible night sweats; Never ending cravings for junk food; Inability to cope with stressful situations; Feeling of being inadequate; Can’t concentrate; Gassy; Hate family & partners; Irrational.

I have been on lisinopril for three months for high blood pressure.. Does anyone know any other drug that will sub for this curse? Tired all the time, Dizzy all the time. even laying down sometimes.Feels like there's a gum band around my head. I was taking Miacartis HTC with no side effects. I am with the VA now and they won't persribe Miacartis. Is there any other drug that might get me back to normal?

I was prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 TABS for a kidney infection, on wednesday, i took it approximately 8 pm that same night, next day about 9 am i was breaking up i had a rash all over the inner part of my arms, on my thigh down to my feet. next thing i know i am itching all over. went to bed that night i had chills all night long. I had never had an allergic reaction to any medication until now.

This was a curse for me.

I'm a sharp person with perfect coordination and a quick mind, and this medication reduced me to a slow, clumbsy, stumbling, muttering moron. I've walked right into walls, given up on talking because my words always came out slurred, and I never made too much sense because I didn't use the words in their context.

I ALSO had a sore throat, runny nose, rashes to no end, fever, chills, I wouls sweat like I've never seen before... I'd wake up in a literal pool of my own sweat... dizzy, MIGRANES... oh the headahces I had...

And, I'm not sure if it's just my mind playing tricks on me, but I swear my tourettes became about 10 times worst on this stuff.

I have been on pred for 2 years off and on for Temporal Arteritis that the doctors at long last have decided that I don't have. They started me out on 60 mm and now they are taking me off at 1mm every other week. I am down to 11mm now. I have experienced all the side effects except the acne and problems with periods. I gained 40 pounds and have such bad pains in my lower back that I can't stay on my feet for long. And I'm always hungry though I try to control it. My main withdrawal symptom is extreme itching from my neck to my wrists and thighs. especially where there is any pressure on the body such as waist bands etc. I tried to get off it once but it was at a faster rate and that is when the itching started. I will gladly put up with the itching as long as I can get off this "Satans curse" of a medicine. I also have jerking in my hands and a general feeling of shakiness. I was glad to read that someone else had painful sensitive teeth I didn't know it was connected to the pred. I too wonder if I will be able to lose all this weight after I'm off the pred. I do know that the moon face goes away because it did the one time I came off the pred then had to get back on it. I also have weakness in my thighs and arms. and my arms are always getting big ugly bruises or torn skin on them to the point that I have to wear long sleeves in hot weather.feel free to email me with your story. Especially if you are off of it so I can have some idea what might happen to me

Began Levaquin for prostatitis, a result of unknown infection in the past, that has reoccured roughly once a year for about 7.5 yrs. Results are excellent, and healed a tooth that had seemed destined to be removed, and this after just 5 days. However, I have had difficult dreams, pain and burning in bladder area, and lower back, prespiration and hot/cold feelings. I am a 63 yr old male, and in the past was given a regimen of Cipro, which produced no effects other than cure,
but I took it for a month to produce the cure. I am to take three more doses, and will do them, but hesitate to say I would do it in the future, and will look for yet another regimen if needed. By the way, my health is excellent,(inc. prostate) other than this damn curse..and also, the Levaquin was free samples.....

I had been on advair since it came on the market. I have suffered from increased heart rate and increased blood pressure. I complained in Nov. to doctor who proceeded to decreae the dose. I continued to have the same symptoms and in addition was having bouts of tachycardia and possibly skipped beats that were very disturbing. I again went and this time was told that by decreasing the dose that it was only the steroid and that the salmeterol was the same in all. Duh, why did he decrease the dose when it had no affect on the salmeterol. Now he decided to stop it altogether. My heart rate is back in a normal range and my blood pressure has come down to a very good reading. I do not have the the increased heart rate. However what I am experiencing is an increase in pain due to arthritis in my joints. i am wondering if this is because I have stopped the advair and the steroid that is in it. Has anyone else had that reaction after long time use of advair and then stopping it.
